Subject: Release of Book: Phantom in the River: The Flight of Linfield Two Zero One

I am pleased to announce to the NAMPOW community the release yesterday
of my book dedicated to Ev Southwick and Jack Rollins, entitled Phantom
in the River: The Flight of Linfield Two Zero One. It's an account of Ev
and Jack's flak suppression mission in their F-4 Phantom off the USS
Kitty Hawk against the air defenses of the Thanh Hoa Bridge in mid-May
1967. It recounts their shoot down and capture and their return to
Vietnam thirty-seven years later, to their landing site where on the
exact date and almost to the exact hour decades before they were
captured. Published by Hellgate Press, Phantom in the River is available
in all major bookstores.
 
My special thanks to Ev and Jack for their encouragement and advice and
to so many others who helped me along the way.

Jack passed away Nov. 10th at the V. A. hospital in San Diego. 
Death was due to pneumonia and complications to Parkinson disease.  Death
was a blessing since his body was worn out.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 14th at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day-Saints Chapel with reception following.
Burial was in Miramar Nat. Cemetery on Nov. 18th with a wonderful fly-over.
We gave him a great send-off with family and friends.  CR
