I have been informed of the passing of Jim Pirie. Jim recently met
with several of his old squadronmates from VA-93 in Pensacola, FL.
Jim met up with RAdm Jim Seely, "Jude" Lahr, R.T. Davis, Pete Dodge,
Jack Waeltz, Mac Alsop and Tom Wondergem. They had a great get
together, a little golf, a seminar and lots of memories shared. The
event broke up around 11:00 Saturday morning (9 May). Jim Pirie drove
Lahr and Dodge to the New Orleans Airport and dropped them off around
4:00 PM. That night at around 10:00 PM, Jim died in his sleep from a
heart attack.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbara. (Children & others unknown).
Jim was a LCdr flying his 225th mission in an A4E when shot down
6-22-67. He was released 2-18-73. No further information is known.
God speed in your flight West, Jim.
