Lance Corporal Albert Brigham, who joined the U.S. Marine Corps from Georgia, served with Company E, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. On December 14, 1966, LCpl Brigham and his unit were engaged with enemy forces near Quang Dong Hamlet, South Vietnam. As the Marines crossed a small river in the vicinity of (GC)  49Q BT 050 750, LCpl Brigham disappeared under the water and was not seen again. Search efforts were conducted without success, and the unit was forced to leave the area. Further search efforts were similarly unsuccessful. Today, Lance Corporal Brigham is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
