SOLDIER DEAD

"This superbly researched, beautifully written book should be read by every person in Washington with authority or responsibilities associated with American military forces and their families. This is a history that begged to be written out of loyalty to and respect for the American military men and women killed during their service in war or peace. No area of interest is left unexplored. This is an extraordinary book, written with compelling empathy, candor, and compassionate sensitivity."
—Harold G. Moore, Lt. General, U.S. Army, Ret., coauthor of We Were Soldiers Once and . . . Young: Ia Drang-The Battle That Changed the War in Vietnam

Anthony absolutely loved this special gift and was so proud of it that he took it to the base to show it to his Marines. It was an instant sensation and demand for the stockings quickly exceeded my supply! Suddenly, I realized that I could start my own business and share my idea with the world.

So here I am with my website selling these stocking in memory of my husband, Staff Sargent Anthony Goodwin U.S.M.C, who recently died in Iraq, (May 8th, 2005) Serving his Country, as he loved to do, and fighting for our FREEDOM.

Because so many great Americans wanted a way to show their support, Salute America's Heroes created Hero Bands. With a donation of $10, $25, $50 or, if possible, $75 today, you will not only receive your Hero Band, but also be directly supporting our wounded heroes. Salute America's Heroes runs a tight financial ship, but our need is great and we rely solely on individual contributions from Americans like you. Thank you so much for all you have done, and, I pray, all you will continue to do for these brave young people. God bless you and God bless America.

JARHEAD RED is made by Marines for Marines... It is a tasty blend of Cabernet and Merlot made by Firestone Vineyards own Adam Firestone, a former Marine Corp Captain.

The net proceeds from the sale of this wine goes to the scholarship fund for children of fallen Marines

=============

"Jarhead Red" wine helps Marine families

By Jim Knippenberg

Enquirer staff writer

"Jarhead Red" is available directly from Firestone Vineyards at (800) 910-3940.

Ohio residents must pay a state tax via a form that comes with the wine.

State laws prohibit shipment into Kentucky.

Jarhead Red is also available at several Web sites, including www.cwmerchants.workzsites.com.

Another good reason to lift a glass of wine: It sends the sons and daughters of Marine veterans to college.  Jarhead Red, a 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon produced by Santa Barbara County's Firestone Vineyards, has been around before, about five years in earlier vintages, but on a limited basis and almost never available to the public.

This year, you can buy it online and directly from Firestone. "We had been donating it to Marine-sponsored events, things like golf tourneys and galas," says Firestone president Adam Firestone. "But people clamored to buy it for home. After I don't know how many inquiries, we decided to go public."

Public, but not for profit. Jarhead is $10 a bottle with all proceeds going to the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund, a 43-year-old organization that has raised $29 million in scholarship money for the children of Marine veterans, according to fund spokesman Kenton Knoepfler. "We're also doing something new," Knoepfler said. "We're awarding an automatic $10,000 scholarship to the children of Marines killed in the war on terror. It's good for college, vocational or technical school, and all they have to do is graduate high school."

For Firestone, also an attorney and member of the famous tire family, his dedication to the Corps is in the line of duty. He served eight years as a Marine, leaving as a captain right after Desert Storm.

"Part of my reason for the donation is a Marine thing. You know, taking care of our own," said Firestone. "But it's also a chance to take care of children, especially ones who lost a mother or father."

And the wine itself?

"It's a serious wine. It's not a $60-bottle reserve or anything, but I'm happy to serve it at my house."

www.usmilitary.tv

U.S. Military Television Network (USMTV).  The purpose is to "educate" America on who our military really is, rather than who the liberal civilian media portray them to be.  USMTV will present a side of the military that is generally not seen in the media--their lives through their eyes. The all-original programming will include news magazine shows, game shows, live newscasts with satellite feed from battlefield locations, kids' programs and cartoons, music videos, documentaries, military intramural sporting events and talent search shows appealing to Generation X and beyond. U.S. Military Television Network is not just another military channel, it will be the public's primary source for military information.

We currently have merchandise available on our site to generate start up funding so we are able to maintain control and guarantee content. Items would be of particular interest to Marines.  Mugs, t-shirts, BBQ Grill Aprons, and much more.  The promotional tag lines on some of the merchandise read, "I'd rather be in a Corps of many than in an army of one" and "Carolina MAGTF, Acronym for kickin's ass."
