12/14/2011 JOHN WHO?
It's a digitized book from Amazon titled "Vietnam
Veteranos: Chicanos Recall the War." The section I'm
interested in begins on page 84 and recounts the
adventures of "John" who claims two tours in Vietnam.
John's story is as bizarre as it is phony -- he claims
to have joined the Army at age 16, got out, then was
recruited by "DIA" after which he went through training
including "airborne, ranger, and Green Beret" -- all
lasting a few weeks at a time.
Among "John's" adventures were service in "Operation
North Star" in Vietnam where he was part of an elite
unit (what other kind are there?) that tracked down and
killed US deserters.

POSSIBLE LEADS:
- He's wearing a pathfinder torch and a drill
sergeant badge.
- In one picture on the left he's wearing a
maroon beret. This should narrow the list even
more to someone who is or has served in an
Airborne unit.
- In the picture on the upper right, above
his nametag, he's wearing bronze German jump
wings.
Soldiers are only
required to do 1 partnership jump to
earn the Bronze, 3 jumps to earn the
Silver, and 5 to earn the Gold. Ft
Bragg: They do a Toy Jump every
Christmas season and its open to the
post. It’s usually on a Saturday and
the entry requirement is you have to
bring a new, unwrapped toy, for
donation. Then you just stand in line
and hope there’s enough parachutes for
you to get one. The Toy Jump is a
partnership jump, usually with the
Germans, but sometimes the Polish. It’s
a guaranteed way to get foreign jump
wings without leaving the country.

team by age 19, and became a sniper later in his career (167 confirmed
kills). He claimed that he received the Navy Cross from President
Eisenhower after leading a team of 3 SEALs to rescue a group of Marines
in either Japan or Korea. Not only did he receive the Navy Cross, but
he was also awarded ) 7 Purple Hearts, 2 Silver Stars, and a Bronze

"SFC Brad M." is the person who originally started the thread.
So far he has made the following claims:
-Is assigned to the unit "SOT-A 7th SFG(A)"
-SIGINT Trooper with 7th Group
-Brad is his middle name, not his first name
-"I conduct signit and ew op along with other things your average
SIGINT soldier doesn't do. I am a 35P (Crypto Linguist)."
-According to the shadow box on his signature (http://militarysignatures.com/signatures/member15047.png),
he has a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Ranger tab, Sapper tab,
as well as numerous other decorations and badges. Being a Marine I am
not familiar with many of the devices. I asked Team Sergeant, and he
said that it was possible, but highly unlikely, to have the combinations
that he has.

"......the badge next to the foreign jump wings is the German
Armed Forced Proficiency Badge in Gold. The wings look German
too."
"Vundy" is a person who claims to know "SFC Brad M." in the real world.
He made the following statement on the forums:
"Brad isn't lying people. I know this because I fucking know, and
don't question it. I could find any of you, it's easy for me. so stop
jumping to conclusions like retards. Also, the Silver Star registry is
really, really fucked up. I have a Silver Star, got my citation, all
that, and I'm not in the official registry, my cousin isn't either. It's
not a surprise."
They both claim to be on active duty. "Vundy"'s name is listed on
his Facebook as "Jarrod Griffith". Looked him up on AKO - and he
wasn't listed, but this is supposed to be "Vundy."

Had it not been for a small Coke can in the road in a tiny
Afghan village, Carl would almost certainly have been aboard the
U.S. Army helicopter shot down in Wardak province in Afghanistan
on Aug. 6, killing 22 U.S. Navy SEALs and decimating the proud,
elite commando team he once led. But as things worked out, a
lapse in communication between Carl and the driver of his Humvee
a year earlier resulted in the vehicle's passing too close to
the crude IED (improvised explosive device), triggering an
explosion that killed two SEALs, wounded six others and ended
Carl's active-duty career after 31 years as a SEAL.......

- Regarding the photograph you

would like to humbly request any
additional information you might
have regarding him (full last name
and any additional statements).

- I am a soldier of the US Army
and have been for over 13 years. I
have an extensive knowledge of
military protocol when it comes to
dressing in military uniform and
representing the U.S. Army in
public. It is my suspicion that this
individual is NOT who he claims to
be, but an imposter. My suspicion is
for the following reasons:
- 1. He is wearing his "dog tags"
outside his ACU jacket. (Violation -
must be tucked in under t-shirt)
- 2. He is wearing a subdued US
Flag on his right arm. (Violation -
current regulations only authorize
colored flag in CONUS "continental
US")
- 3. He is not wearing unit patch
on his left arm. (Violation -
regardless of whether he was in a
"special ops" unit, he would be
wearing a unit patch. A "spec ops"
individual would not be broadcasting
their military service by wearing a
uniform if they were concerned with
anonymity.)
- 4. He is wearing a "Command
Sergeant Major" rank on his chest.
(Oddity - A "CSM", highest enlisted
rank, would know better than to
dress in public this way.)
- 5. Performing a search for "d*enberg"
with the rank of CSM on our internal
"address book" produces no
individual. Performing a search for
the same last name with any rank,
produces no individual living /
serving in state of California.

- There are thousands of
individuals who falsely represent
themselves as heroes for personal
gain - in absolute disrespect for
those who truly deserve the
notoriety. In preserving the
integrity of soldiers serving and
sacrificing themselves for our
nation, I humbly submit my request
in order to verify this individual's
status and report him to Army
command, if necessary (in the case
that he is a soldier of the US Army,
but falsely representing his
rank/status).
- Also....was he wearing
camouflage sun glasses??? Those
aren't army-issued. Interesting for
someone who was so concerned with
anonymity.

On 8 Apr 10, B Co, 3-60th IN Regt (TRADOC) reported a
Soldier was sexually assaulted when an
unknown male entered her unsecured room in single soldier
quarters while she was asleep. The Soldier resisted and the
offender fled. The CID investigation later revealed that the

in the soldier’s quarters, denied the offense and offered an
alibi witness who stated that he had called her and asked
her to lie to the MPs. He was subsequently apprehended and
is being held on a $100K bond pending a 19 Apr 2010 court
appearance in US District court for Burglary, Sexual

HOLLYWOOD MARINE
......On April 24, 2000, I enlisted in the United States Marine
Corps. Three weeks later, I was shipped to Camp Pendleton for my 15-week
long recruit training, and within the hour, I was prepared to pack up
and quit once more, giving up not just another future, but giving up on
myself. Much to my surprise, the Marine Corps doesn't allow for
quitters. Once you join, there is no going back; you are theirs for four
years. This was best thing that could ever have happened to me. The
Marines taught me how to stand up and fight for myself, how to never
give up, or abandon your goals. After my first month at basic training,
I was a completely different person. I at last achieved the sense of
purpose and a feeling of pride I had been searching for, and more
importantly, I had a desire to achieve goals and to better myself. The
Marines taught me pride and honor, self discipline and integrity,
management skills and working as a team. All of the fundamentals that
should have been passed on from father to son were instead instilled in
me by the Marines. I loved the new me, so much so that after four years
in the corps, and nearly 1,000 days fighting a war in four different
countries, I re-enlisted for another four years.
I would not complete those four years, however it was not as a result of
quitting. On February 8, 2005, only 274 days into my enlistment, I,
along with several of my Marines were ambushed. I was told I was the
lucky one. I returned home leaving my left leg on a dirt road outside of
Karbala. I was told that the scars would heal, but I would never be the
same person again. Five years ago, that statement might have been
alright with me, but, in April of 2000, my life had already changed for
the better. I refused to lose what the United States Marine Corps had
given me, a new life. A life which saw many of my combat brothers lose,
and one I was still thankful to have.
My second chance at a new life started with a five month hospital stay,
four surgeries and 14 months of the most grueling rehabilitation I could
ever imagine. I spent ten hours a day learning how to walk and take care
of myself again. Several times I could have just given up and taken the
easy road, but I was a Marine and Marines don’t quit. Every time the
pain would limit me, I would close my eyes and picture all the soldiers
who cant feel any pain, because they are no longer with us and I forced
myself to fight through the pain and agony to carry on their honor.
Nearly a year and a half later, I was healed up, discharged from the
United States Military and awarded the Navy Cross and the Purple Heart.
I met the President of the United States and started a foundation for
families of fallen soldiers. ....... |
05/22/2010 I was flying out of Dulles today (more than happy to
put DC behind me) when I went to the ticketing counter for
Delta. Was stopped by a gentleman working the lines when he
stopped me (I was in ACUs, with CIB, Air
Assault Wings, 101st ABN DIV combat patch earned serving with 1
BCT, current USACAPOC unit patch) and
I referred to him, reflexively, as "Sir." What I always do.
He then asked me how I knew he was an officer and I drew a
blank. He had an SF unit crest ("De Oppresso
Liber") on his blue suit jacket and claimed WW2 status at age
85. I drew a blank. I then asked him if he was
with 1st Special Services Force (aka "Devils Brigade") and then
he told me he was with 5th SFG at Bragg.
That particular timeline places him in his mid-40s around then,
which is not entirely unreasonable, but this
gent did NOT look 85.
He then told me a story about being a Naval Aviator (???) and
then about being kicked out. All this while
peanut shards were falling out of his mouth as he was talking (I
kid you not). I shook his hand, totally confused
(and I'm not about to bust out some 85 year old in the middle of
a major metropolitan airport terminal when
he's literally drooling over himself) so I got my ticket and
took the 4:10 out of Yuma, so to speak.
Now that I'm back at home station, this BOTHERS me. I'm
wondering if you have a contact in the area that
can track down and check. Gent is caucasian, white-haired,
clean-shaven, no wrinkles, round-faced, about
5'5" and is blatant about claiming SF status. Wears the SF unit
crest on the right side of his jacket (not the
heart side) mid-way up on his paunch. I should have checked for
a name but I was in a damn hurry.
I know this is crazy, but if possible, let me know if there is
any possible follow-up.

I just got back from a Caribbean Cruise, 20-27 March on the
EURODAM, Holland America Line. There was an alleged Navy Captain
in uniform so I talked to him. I think he might be an
imposter. He was wearing a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart,
etc. He told me he graduated from MIT and went in to the Navy in
1980. He was obese. He had all the Navy uniforms and wore them
throughout the cruise. He said his name was BURTON and told me he
was in submarines for the past 30 years. He also said that he just
came from Arlington National Cemetery where he buried his first
son who was a Marine; he said the son jumped on a grenade in Afghanistan
and saved several Marine lives. Also he said he was going back to Afghanistan
with another son shortly. He also said his wife was an assistant
to the President and could not be with him on the cruise. He also
said he turned down promotions to O-7 twice. Seems kind of fishy.

Poser strikes again at Wal-Mart. As I was looking at DVDs, I saw
this man walking/talking on the cell phone in the Service Alpha
Uniform. I did a double look and realized it was another poser.
So, as he approached the area I was standing in I asked to take a few
photos of him. So he struck a pose and asked me if I had ever
seen a man in uniform and I replied by saying "no."
Then he said "not even in movies?"
Again, I replied by saying "no." He really got off on
my response by smiling a lot until I excused myself from choking him
(that was my initial reaction when I saw him).
So what's wrong with this picture: Obviously, he's not a Marine,
he was walking/talking on the cell phone (check out right hand), the
Service Alpha Uniform is not a leave/liberty uniform, he's wearing
ribbons on the left/right breast pocket, no tie, no belt with uniform,
right bottom pocket is unbuttoned, he's wearing a nose ring which is
hard to see in the photos, he has a beard and he is wearing black
boots.
I spotted him at Wal-Mart on Bruce B. Downes at 2140, 29 Jul 09.
Also, I was unable to get any information from him because he spoke
very minimal English.

GREG the "Navy
SEAL" ?
- Male
Union City, United States
Reported 09/2008
UNION CITY, UNITED STATES
http://www.navyformoms.com/profile/greg66
The man
pictured on this web page is not now and never was a Navy SEAL, nor was
he a legitimate Naval Officer. His poor spelling and horrendous grammar,
and the manner in which he expresses his ideas, makes it absolutely
clear that he is not a graduate of any institution of higher learning,
much less the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, and most certainly not SEAL
material. The sentiments he has express to mothers whose children are
going in harm’s way as members of the US Navy are nothing more than
repetitions of blasé statements made by others, while making a pathetic
attempt to mimic those who truly earned the right to the title
“SEAL” in a feeble and pitiable effort to gain attention. Pathetic
as those efforts have been, he has crossed the line from meaningless
braggadocio and idiotic chest-thumping to transgression of federal laws.
He has even been so kind as to provide a photograph of himself wearing
the uniform of a US Naval Officer (which is at least two sizes too large
for him), and wearing military honors and awards which he has not earned
(including the SEAL Trident insignia).
Whether
he realizes it or not, real Navy veterans are paying attention to what
people like him are doing, and are prepared to involve the federal
authorities. Copies of everything he has posted, including chat logs,
photographs, and communications headers which can be used to point
directly to his ISP and home computer will be turned over to federal law
enforcement authorities. They will be urged in the strongest possible
way to prosecute you to the fullest extent of any/all federal, state,
and local laws which your idiotic charade has transgressed. Sadly there
are many like him who have attempted to steal the reputation earned by
the real Navy SEALs, so the federal authorities has a lot of people like
him on their schedule; while he waits for them to knock on his front
door, he might think about looking online for information regarding the
STOLEN VALOR ACT of 2005. If I were him I’d pay particular attention
to the amount of jail time and the size of the financial fines you are
facing.

This "MARINE"??
July 2009
....... this kid was lucky to leave with all his teeth
intact. From the get go, it was obvious this kid was not a Marine.
He claimed to be a PFC (wearing LCpl chevrons) and could not explain
what a PFC chevron looked like and then couldn't explain the NCO
stripe on his trousers. He had a collar emblem in the middle of his
barracks cover and his belt was sticking out. No ribbons or badges,
his trousers were way too long, not to mention he had on Sketcher
boots instead of dress shoes and a civilian belt. We found this out
after we demanded that he take off the blouse and cover.
Turns out he bought the uniform from a surplus store and his dad is a
retired Navy Chief. Reno is a super-pro military area and this guy was
soaking in the atta-boys. Lot of posers out there, watch out!
Know any recruiters in the San Diego and Reno areas, send them a
warning to watch out for this turd.
