Mr Mayo was at a Martial Arts Expo in Atlantic City New Jersey - the event was the Action Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
Mr Mayo was wearing Desert BDU's,75th Ranger Scroll, on the opposite side he wore Special Forces Insignia and Tab.  He also wore a Ranger ,Sand Colored, Beret. Sgt Major rank. CIB ,Master Jump wings,pathfinder school badge.

He said he was Just back from Afghanistan and with the 7th SFG and had  just retired
He was  wearing the Ranger Beret - He said he was also a former member of the 75th Ranger Regiment.
He used the uniform and his posing in Uniform to gain access to the event and was allowed to take unrestricted photo's as he was in the military.  He was even recognized and thanked by the crowds for his service.
 
.... later learned that Mr Mayo had NEVER been in the Military and had been a Police Officer in NYC and was retired from the NYPD. He was  teaching Martial arts in Florida, claiming to teach Rangers and Special Operations units. He later appeared on a documentary about the Rangers, saying he was their Hand to Hand Combat Instructor.

Here are links and pictures to Tony Mayo. Supposedly this guy is a former cop from NYC who is now the latest arrival at the Ninja Conventions in full military uniform. I understand he was never in the military but here are the pictures of him with a Ranger Tab and him as a Air Force Captain and he is supposedly shown on some TV show called weaponology that aired in December 2007. There are no military claims in his bio but the pictures are from his own website, it was related to me the TV show portrayed him as a Ranger ....

I would like to direct your attention to both of his gallerys including his motorcyle picture where he is wearing cross rifles on his right side and airborne wings on his left.  If it couldn't get any better then his stupid videos and wearing a "Sergeant Major" rank on a uniform  he didn't earn, in his gallery on his website he is wearing a ranger tab, and a unit patch that I can't identify, maybe some sort of national guard unit or civil affairs patch on his right side.  Hopefully this helps your cause and it sure should at least get another laugh out of the stupidity of some people.
