To: info@pownetwork.org (I know this letter is long, But I ask you please read it, I know you will be interested) Recently a man by the name of Gilbert C Cupp tried to get a job at my company. Gilbert is a home town "good ole boy". I have been in business here for a few years and have known Mr Cupp during this time , but never had worked with him. During the years I have known him he has told me that he was a Marine Corps Commando during Vietnam. He said that he was running "COVERT OPS" into Cambodia. He said that his job was to assassinate Political officials and High ranking Generals, either with a knife (which he said he liked better because he liked close up wet work) or with a sniper rifle, preferably an M-14. He also claimed that he had rescued many downed pilots in Cambodia, and said that these pilots owed their lives to him for his actions alone. Also during his tour in Cambodia he claimed that he and three of his "TEAM" were captured, and he was forced to watch as they were executed with a machete (he claimed that he woke up crying every night because of the memories, this is what his ex-wife and girlfriend told me) however he was able to get free and kill his "VC" captors with the same machete, and that is when he started making a necklace out of "VC" ears (sound familiar). He told me that after this action he rescued his entire platoon that was surrounded and cut off from the vietnamese border. He himself volunteered to stay behind and keep the "VC" busy while the rest of his platoon escaped. Mr Cupp said that he was able to return to his base with many wounds, but refused medical treatment. Mr Cupp said that later he was offered the "C. M. H." but that he refused in honor of his fallen Marine Brothers. It should be said at this time that when I first met Mr Cupp he introduced himself as "CHIEF" He told me that's what he was called in the Marines. He also said that he was partially Disabled and a Vietnam Veteran (notice the exact wording Disabled AND A Vietnam Veteran) I didn't note this in the beginning and assumed he was a disabled VET, as every one does. When he is actually on SSI disability (which he filled for several years ago in another state for a claimed construction accident) This why no one here would know, or even ask about his "DISABLED VET" status. He said that after he left the Marines he was RECRUITED by the "AGENCY" to do assassinations in Columbia and Panama and that he was inserted into these countries by HALO Jumps at night. He came to my home after finding out that I make my skydiving jumps at Bob Kerns drop zone in El Paso. Mr Cupp then handed me a set of Combat Jump Wings and asked if I would wear them in his (GILBERT CUPP'S) honor. He said he had "EARNED" them during one of his secret jumps into Cambodia. Needless to say I refused and I DID NOT do this. The Straw that broke my back is when he started making fun of Iraqi Vets Including my two sons, the oldest one of which served with the CAV out of Ft Hood and then went back with the Albuquerque NM National Guard MP CO in Baghdad and my Youngest son is now serving with the 2-12 Inf BN out of FT Carson also in Baghdad. After reading about "Stolen Valor" I sent for Gilbert C Cupp's Military records under FOIA. When I received them, I have never been so angry in my entire life, had he been in front of me at that time I surely would have been incarcerated for assault or worse. The actual record of GILBERT C CUPP Birth date NOV 1946 service no. 773-64-57 ACTIVE DUTY from September 10, 1965 to September 8, 1967 RANK- Seamen E-3 @ US NAVAL RESERVE DIVISION 11-4(L) USNC, POMONA, CALIFORNIA served 22 months COMFLEACTCS, YAKOUSKA / NAVCOMSTA JAPAN, ALW in CONNECTION WITH BASIC COMMUNICATION SCOL. (Please don't get me wrong Naval reserve is Honorable duty as is all Military service but the lies are not honorable) When I did confront Mr Cupp with these facts and Records, I even provided him with a copy. He became very angry and hostile. He informed me at that time that he "WAS" and "STILL IS" working for the CIA and that I was in big trouble from the CIA for trying to access his records. Also that all these records were "TOP SECRET" and "SEALED" for the security of the United States because of his knowledge of "SPECIAL MISSIONS" and that because of this, I and my Family would have to be "SANCTIONED". At this point I had lost my temper and knocked him in the dirt. I was on my own property with witnesses so he had no legal recourse, but he did tell me to watch my back because he still worked for the "AGENCY". I contacted the local police and they said they could not do anything unless he assaulted me or my family (Good ole boy complex). I then contacted the FBI and although very polite and somewhat interested called me back an hour later and said there was nothing that they could do "But I should stay aware of my surroundings" (Really, Thanks Alot). To this day he still claims he is a "CONTRACTOR" and a "CONSULTANT" for the CIA. It is not that I believe this Guttless Wonder nor am I afraid of him. I just get tired of hearing about this "HERO" from other people (he has been telling this story for some 30 years) I am tired of banging my head against a brick wall these last few years telling these same people he is a liar (police, FBI, Judges, Doctors, Lawyers, you name it) I even carry a copy of his Military records in my truck to prove his lies. But no one wants to see them, after all he worked for the CIA and the records are False! If nothing else I will feel better knowing that there are many VETS out there via this web site that know what a disgusting piece of Garbage this man is. In closing I know that this coresspondance is much to long, but I
and my Sons Thank You so much for having an organization to expose these
disgusting imposters. They tarnish the Courage and Dedication of all the
Wonderful Military men who have sacrificed so greatly for this Country
