MAYOR,
VETERANS, RECOGNIZE MILFORD AUTHOR
Understanding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Is Subject Of Vietnam War Novel
MILFORD Mayor James Richetelli, Jr. and members
of American Legion Post 196 met with Milford author Elliot Storm to
endorse his new book about the Vietnam War and the effects on veterans
of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Elliott wrote the novel "These
Scars Are Sacred"
to help readers understand the causes of PTSD and to help in the healing
process. The book is currently a top seller and has become a "must
read"
for health care professionals and others who are charged with helping a
new generation of soldiers returning from fighting in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
"It
is shameful what Vietnam veterans had to endure after their service to
our nation,"
said Mayor Richetelli, who suggested all citizens could benefit from
performing some form of public service, military or otherwise. The Mayor
went on to say, "This book tells the truth about an important
issue, even if that truth is not very pleasant."
Storm ,
has served as Judge Advocate for American Legion Post 196 and welcomed
their support for his book. "The goal of this book is to provide an
understanding of PTSD and through that, aid in the healing
process." Storm also noted many women have commented that after
reading "These Scars Are Sacred", they can now trace back
actions of spouses and loved ones to better understand them. For more
information about the book, visit www. Amazon.com____________ .
