Will you tell the POW-NETWORK the entire story on MILNE???? And that is to include his so-called 3 Purple Hearts that he claims he was awarded? And can they investigate his VA claim of PTSD of which Mike XXXXX helped him with (so I was told by MILNE)???  What he claimed he did in NAM and that he truly was a truck driver???  Do these people KNOW Milne and the rest at national and if so what were they told by Milne!  Remember he was a great POW searcher at one point and should have been well known by all the POW advocates! I think you'll find lies even to those organizations by Milne.

Not only is Peter J. Forbes and Michael F. Milne hiding behind lies of the mouth but their biggest lies are hidden in their minds. After many years of hiding from the truth you believe the lies that you tell and you become a part of them. SO after time you no longer know the truth or have little remembrance of the truth.

Rowing Club investigation: (scroll down to find it.)
http://www.aph.gov.au/Senate/committee/fadt_ctte/estimates/bud_0405/def/ans_dva_part_jun04.pdf

Peter Forbes is an Australian Vietnam Vet who spent 89 days in country.

Forbes applied for a grant from the AU Dept. of Veterans Affairs and received the grant for $61,000 for rowing boats and equipment for the vets to increase their health.  $20,000 is still missing from the grant.  Forbes scammed the Rowers out of their boats after they asked questions as to where the money was spent and where the organization was headed.  He locked them up in Scotch College Boat shed and VVnW paid rent all those years on storage for boats they couldn't access.  The boats are now thrown in a heap on Forbes' family farm in Nairme.

Written in documents in reference to a DVA Grant, before the Senate Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee: Additional Estimates 2004-2005: February 2005:
Answers to questions on notice from Department of Veterans Affairs in Australia:

Senator Mark Bishop asked:

(a) Has a grant been sought from DVA by the Royal Australian Regiment based in Adelaide for the purchase of rowing shells?

ANSWER: In April 1998 DVA received an application for grant funding from an organization called the National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition.  THE LETTERHEAD described it as being a joint venture between the Royal Australian Regiment SA Branch, Inc., the Veterans of the Vietnam War, Inc. and the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club SA Inc.  The funding application sought a grant of $61, 700 for the purchase of rowing skulls and related equipment to assist in promoting a health lifestyle for members of the various bodies that made up the joint venture.

(b) If so, when was the grant sought and who were the proponent office bearers sponsoring the proposal?

ANSWER: The application for funding was submitted in April 1998.  The proponent office bearer was a Mr. Peter J. Forbes who described himself ON THE LETTERHEAD of the joint venture as being the President RAR Association SA Branch, Inc.

(c) Was the grant approved and for what amount?

ANSWER: a grant of $61,000 was approved by the then Minister of Veterans Affairs on 28 August 1998.

(d) To whom was the cheque for payment addressed and into what bank account was it paid?

ANSWER:  The original conditions of the grant were approved with the grantee being the Royal Australian Regiment Association SA Branch.  The reason for this being that THE JOINT VENTURE WAS NOT A LEGAL ENTITY.  WHEN THE COMPLETED GRANT CONDITIONS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY RECEIVED FROM MR. PETER FORBES, THE DETAILS OF THE GRANTEE HAD BEEN ALTERED TO BE THE VETERANS OF THE VIETNAM WAR, INC.  MR. FORBES WAS SUBSEQUENTLY CONTACTED AND AS ASKED FOR AN EXPLANATION AS TO THE BASIS FOR HIS ALTERATION OF THE NAME OF THE GRANTEE.  MR. FORBES SAID THAT THE VVNW WAS THE OVERRIDING BODY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VETERANS ROWING CLUB.  THE SUBSEQUENT CHEQUE WAS MADE PAYABLE TO THE VVNW AND THEREFORE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEPOSITED INTO A BANK ACCOUNT BEARING THE NAME OF THAT ORGANIZATION.

(e) Who signed the original proposal and the contract of agreement for the grant?

ANSWER: MR. PETER FORBES SIGNED THE ORIGINAL GRANT PROPOSAL AND THE GRANT AGREEMENT.
G'day all, yes on last Sunday 21st Aug. it was Vietnam Veterans' Rememberence Day here in Australia. Here in Adelaide, (the capital of South Australia) there was a march through the city to the cross of sacrafice where a service and dedication were held and then we all trooped over to the Torrens Parade Ground where there was a concert by former entertainers who toured Vietnam entertaining the troops. This years theme was men's health and it encouraged veterans to looking after their own health and seek help if they don't know where to start.

Besides the normal tents and stalls for all of the Ex Service Organisations there were about 30 tents with people representing the Repatriation Hospital, Diabetes, AA, Heart Health etc. The Vietnam Veterans Federation & VV Association, Royal Australian Regiment Assoc, Returned Servicemen League were all there.

The best thing about the whole day besides the good food and booze was that there was not one sighting of anyone from the VVnW. No flags no bullshit displays not one thing. They didn't even dust off the rowing boats and drag them down there for a display to try and suck a few veterans into joining. It seems the VVnW AU couldn't give a continental rat's arse about Aussie Vietnam Veterans (not enough money to be made out of them). Remember that this is the day that was instigated by Forbes and he threatened to take leagal action against anyone who tried to organize anything to do with it without his consent.

Any of you over there in the USA who still think that there is any thing like a viable VVnW AU think again, it only exists so that Forbes can return to Australia to visit the relations and do some business at the VVnW's expense. I see that Nancy is now the Executive Director of the Australian post, according to their web site. I suppose this means she will be able to come with Forbes on his trips back here and have VVnW pick up the tab.

I feel that I should apologize for the fact that Forbes is an Australian but fair dinkum the only good thing to come out of the whole saga is that you have got him and we havn't.

...I came upon Question 26 [immediately preceding Q 17] and I found other Q&As about "the veteran in question" -- including some with regard to the veteran's "T&PI" status. Although the DVA declined to provide specific answers in this regard, the full AATA 1116 (29 October 2002) is located at:

http://www.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/disp.pl/au/cases/cth/aat/2002/1116.html?query=title+%28+%22forbe%22+%29

This is a document that should be perused by all those who are "unsure about the veteran in question."

16. At Comcare's request, the applicant was seen by Professor AC McFarlane, Professor of Psychiatry, Adelaide University, on 20 March 2002. On 27 March 2002, Professor McFarlane reported that it was his view that the applicant continued to suffer from PTSD, and that because of the PTSD and related anxiety symptoms, he was unable to work for more than 8 hours per week. Professor McFarlane stated also, that because the applicant had difficulty answering specific questions about time during the interview, he was unable to make a precise statement as to the approximate date the applicant first would have become so incapacitated that the condition alone rendered him incapable of undertaking remunerative work [Exhibit R5].

Thanks ...  for your last email with the story about "Fast Sylvia", it  had me in stitches on the floor laughing at her story. She has to be a  stand-up comedian or something! Surely she is not fair dinkum, she has  to be a couple of snags short of a BBQ?
Six tours hey, I feel totally inadequate now with my miserly little one  tour of the "Funny Country". Isn't it curious how these wannabes are  attracted to each other, like shit onto a blanket.
The VVnW claim of being an international organization is starting to  look a little bit frail right now. One demented Canadian makes up the  Canadian Post, what about the Hong kong and Thailand posts? You can take  it from me the Australian Post is nothing but a front to allow Forbes to  get free travel back to Australia and to shift some money from the USA to himself back home. He has done this before when he had the Veterans  Fund of the USA donate money to his little scam called the Waterways  Rehabilitation Scheme which was a dodgey little enterprise which  achieved absolutely nothing.
Well done ...  for being on the ball, isn't the Internet a wonderful tool we can use, regards ....
