DENNIS B. ROACH
aka Denny Roach

He's BACK!

The original tale and void apology

July 13, 2004
I am writing to report that one of the phony veterans that you have previously identified on your website is back in the public eye again.  I would like to know if there is any action that can be taken to prevent this person from continuing to parade around wearing medals that he did not earn....

..... Denny showed up in a fatigue jacket with a chest full of medals and a black beret.  Unfortunately, the Atlanta Journal newspaper editor chose to use a photo of this phony hero placed next to the photo of the Mother of the veteran that was being honored in their coverage of our event.  Needless to say ...... devastated that Denny was compared to our real hero.

I became suspicious that Denny was wearing a Distinguished Flying Cross but without an aviator badge.  I did a Google search and found the information on your website noting his phony uniform.  I have since obtained information on his authorized awards from the National Personnel Records Center under FOIA.  In the photo of Denny published in the Atlanta Journal at our ceremony in May 2004, it is clear that Denny is wearing a Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart that are unauthorized.  I have relayed this information to the newspaper reporter but he feels that there is nothing that his paper can do to right this wrong.

This phony is an embarrassment to all who have honorably served our country.  I would appreciate your assistance in making sure Denny Roach does not continue his charade.

Dennis B. Roach USAF Ret (NUMEROUS claims... over many years) (and at it again Oct 2001)

At 06/19/2002 08:02 PM -0400

I found your web site fascinating, and have been reviewing the information from the various posers. On reading the info provided by Dennis B. Roach, I came across some spurious info.

In January 1982 was deployed to Exercise Elf One at Riyadh AB, Saudi Arabia as Chief of Police in charge of a 32 man Security Force unit guarding two E 3A AWACS aircraft and two KC-135 aircraft while the USAF and US Navy provided 24X7 surveillance monitoring the Iraq and Iran conflict. Each TAC base was responsible for providing an Officer and twelve men for a 120 day TDY. Upon completion of my tour, was awarded the AF Achievement Medal.

As a member of the 552d AWAC Wing from 1980 to 1985, I made a number of deployments to ELF-One.  I can tell you for a fact that during that entire period of time there were always 4 E-3 AWACS aircraft deployed to ELF-One, not two as Mr Roach states. During that time we were flying round the clock coverage 24/7/365, and with the exception of approximately a two hour period twice a day when we were doing station handover, there were always three aircraft on the ground.

Dear Chuck & Mary,

After a lengthy discussion and placing all cards on the table with a very dear and sincere friend who is a Colonel in the US Army, I am preparing a full length detail letter with documentation that will be coming hopefully by the end of the week.  Some documents I cannot reproduce because they are newspaper articles. I would like to get everything back once you have verified everything.

Please accept my utmost appology for previously made comments and only can hope over time that I can be forgiven for trying to represent someone that I wasn't.

Amazing how someone can let themselves fall into a shameless pit when life goes sour after a 26yr marriage, you lose all your friends, you wonder why should you continue. Then you find a group who accepts you and then you try to create a new identity and then you have told so many little lies that one day it catches up with you and then you feel like hell.  It is a good thing that this has happen so that now once I can prove myself that I can just be me, if I ever remember what that is.

I have not been able to live within myself since this started and have have many restless days and nights to include being sued for more money by my ex-wife. Amzing how someone can live with you for 26yrs and then when your health goes south, she wants to leave.

The mention package will be a thick one with documents and pages of a letter.

Thanks for your patience in advance.

Denny

thanks for your response, it means more than you might think. Sorry I was a jerk, heel and tried to be someone I wasn't. I have been doing some research on my own and sorry to admit that I feel into Ed Chambers false world.  I will never try to be someone that I am not once this issue has been aired and cleared.

Notified on 01/21/2012 to remove the photo from the above posted biography.

MR Roach

Remove the photo you posted on FindAGrave.com immediately.  Your "uniform" displays ribbons for the Legion of Merit with cluster, a USAF Meritorious Service Medal, and an Air Medal.

Before I go further here is an apology you wrote that was posted to the Internet.

At the bottom of the above link one can bring up your DD214.  Your DD214 lists your ribbons and the highest recorded is a USAF Commendation ribbon, with 3 devices.  As such you are improperly and dishonestly displaying the three medals detailed above.

You have been identified by the POW network, on their website, as a phony and given you uploaded the aforementioned photo 19 months ago from this date you continue to be one.  .......
