The listed individuals have been reported as having made statements about being captured, captured but never reporting it, held in captivity, tortured, escaping captivity, being rescued or the unique report noted below. Based on the P.O.W. NETWORK's access to POW/MIA documentation, contact with former POWs, NAM-POWS Inc, American Ax-POWs, SEALS, Special Forces, MACVSOG, Vietnam Helicopter Pilots, Medal of Honor recipients and basing our work on the DPMO's list (PMSEA) -- NO documentation exists to back up their statements. In our FIFTEEN YEARS of working with the data - NOT ONE CASE has shown the PMSEA and the corroborating documents to be wrong. The names listed make up a combined list of individuals reported to the P.O.W. NETWORK. In some instances the individual was reported to one of the other above named organizations and sent to us for further investigation. For many, military records are IN HAND providing actual military service details that do NOT confirm alleged POW status. Motives are usually unclear as few rewards come with the distinction of being a bona fide POW from the Vietnam Conflict (North and South Vietnam, China, Cambodia and Laos), as officially recognized by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, International Security Affairs. |

The listed persons have made claims, but they are not recognized by DPMO. If anyone has viable proof of their captivity which is accepted by the American Ax-POWs, NAM-POWs and DMPO - PLEASE contact us immediately. We will take corrective action and work with them to be recognized for their sacrifice. Until then, their claims remain under an umbrella of suspicion. We do suggest you ask for PROOF-- [DD214's are NOT evidence] and ask for their service number or social security number so that further investigation can be done. (Or have them voluntarily sign a military FORM 180 - FULL records release - and have the records sent to a neutral party.) Portions of EVERY military record is releaseable. The National Personnel Records center will note whether or not they were held as POWs - and/or when or WHERE they served in the military when a proper request is filed. AWARDS AND DECORATIONS, TRAINING, AND DUTY ASSIGNMENTS ARE CLEARLY NOTED WHEN THE FOIA IS RETURNED WITH THE INFORMATION. Please remember - we are working with EMPLOYERS RECORDS. NO MILITARY RECORD is the property of an individual. The individual has no claim to it except as his/her own employment record. ALL military personnel WERE / ARE EMPLOYED by the United States Military and paid with our tax dollars. |
Returnee and President of NAM-POWs, Capt. Mike McGrath says, "Don't believe for a minute the Rambo stories of the guy being a Seal or a Special Forces type. He invariably "killed a guard and made good his escape after a few months." However, the mission is still classified and he can't talk about it. Can't you just hear the alarm bells ringing...!!!!! |

From: "Zetwo, David
SFC " Subject: Thanks Date: Tue, 5 Feb 2002 13:30:47 +0100 I've seen your web site, and it is about time someone exposed liars for who they really are. I am currently here in Bosnia as the 1SG for the Psyop Detachment, and my men as well as myself like seeing some of the total assholes out there being shown for what they are. There are men I serve here with who have been there and done that and maintain the quiet professional attitude. My Cdr here, an ex Ranger Bn Ofc., gets a laugh out of these idiots also. Please keep up the great work and remember just like germs exposed to sunlight, these scum will disappear when they are exposed also. Thanks Guys. Sfc David E. To whom this may concern.
I would like to thank you for a site
that is both interesting and at times quite humorous, despite its
gravely serious nature.
I'm a 29 year old student of history,
from Denmark, Europe, and I was idly looking for something as
strange as medals awarded by the warring powers during WWII this
morning, and I came across your site by, let's just say circumspect
routes.
While it wasn't what I was looking
for, I do greatly respect the work you are doing. History is full of
people who make their fame and fortune on the broken backs of
others, and it is always a pleasure to see one of these people
ousted as the fraud he or she is.
Your site does this admirably.
Politics and differences of opinion aside, war is always an ugly
business where people get killed. Wars are usually won by killing
enough of the enemy to make sure he doesn't want to fight anymore,
after all. That means risk to the men and women involved. Mostly
men, admittedly. By "stealing their thunder", frauds
dishonor those who really did risk life and limb, and in many cases
paid the highest possible price for their bravery, and as such they
must be revealed for what they are.
To steal someone's physical, earthly
belongings is bad enough, but to steal honor and personal
achievement is one of the basest, most despicable ways of treating
another human being. Stripped naked and placed on review, we are all
just human beings, after all. And all that will then make us
different from each other are the achievements we know we have
accomplished. What makes a hero is not his ability to accumulate
wealth and riches, but his bravery in the face of adversity and
danger.
Someone once said to me, that in war
there are no heroes. Only desperate men trying very hard to stay
alive. This may very well be true. But *heroics* exist. And heroics
create heroes. I believe that statement to be true only in the sense
that no soldier in war gets up in the morning with the words
"I'm going to win a CMH and a Purple Heart today!". More
likely, most get up with a thought of "Please God, let me be
alive to go to sleep tonight again."
That doesn't make the actions that
have made men heroes *any* less. In fact...in many ways I think it
makes it all the more impressive.
So hoping that you will continue your
good work.
Yours truly
Joan J

Date: Sat, 19 Feb 2005 16:30:45 EST Subject: Thank You! I have read many true accounts of what the real POWs have gone through. I myself have listened to too many stories of heroics. I feel that those who take credit for the valor of others are influencing those that believe them. There are people like me who have been fooled. And we try to learn the lessons of a hero in the hope that we ourselves can be better. But when we learn lessons from a lying coward, we have to start all over again believing in heroes. I am certain that what you are doing is right. If we just knew who to listen to. Who to believe in. I wish I could speak to a true warrior. Instead I'm talking to a fake. When I found out my mentor, a so called "Green Beret" who I admired and followed was a bullshit artist, I didn't know what to think. You see, heroes, are the ones we look to for guidance. Without them, I have no true moral standing to aspire to. I can't be Jesus Christ. I'm just a man. When someone lies to me that I have taken into my confidence, it makes me the bastardized son of a true hero. I just want to be courageous, true and honorable. If my mentors were those who truly are, I fell I would be a better person with so much more to give. Erik |
