The station that ran the story on Noel Benoist is:
- -- KSAZ-TV FOX 10 - 511 West Adams, Phoenix,
AZ 85003-1608 602-257-1234. The name
of the reporter is "Steve Kraft" ( law degree,
argument accepted before the US Supreme Ct, and in TV for over 20
years.... )
- The 'feature' segment ran after the movie "Men in
Black" on Sat 27 Nov 2004 in the nine o'clock news - actual
time about 2123hrs - approx 3 minutes - and 'teased' and promoted
for several days prior as a 'real life' man in black - no
indication of satire at all. It was repeated during the 2am
re-broadcast of the same news program - 28 Nov 2004.
- Mr Benoist made statements to the effect that he was a "
top operative " with the NSA - portraying German citizens 'at
will' and alluded to activities in a Spanish speaking country as
well. Stated 'qualified' on numerous weapons including M-79, M-16,
M-15, 7.62 sniper rifle, 9mm sniper rifle (?).
- Showed a fairly thick ( 1 1/2" ? - far far more than I've
ever been able to obtain ) stack of documents purporting to be his
- the top one was indeed a copy of a graduation certificate that
one would have been awarded at Ft Devens at the USASATC&S -
but another was only shown in the lower right corner with
categories of clearances ? Top Secret was stated as highest
available ( not ) and stated his crypto clearance gave him 'carte
blanche' access to all codes and espionage information ( NO ONE
had complete access to ALL codes that I know of - and
I didn't quite get the entire reference to 'espionage' - so ?? )
- Old faded B&W photo was shown, supposedly of him, in a
'black' suit next to a vehicle - non-descript location - trees (
Eastern US to Eastern Europe ). Many ASA personnel did indeed
travel in suits with civilian passports when traveling to embassy
and other 'sensitive' duty stations
- (I was 'unassigned' to NSA, and a Marine friend was similarly
'assigned' to DIA during that time - and he traveled in the same
fashion when enroute to Nicosia back then ). Actually this, and
the photo, mean nothing in this situation beyond the
representation of being a Man in Black - a moniker he alluded to
being the creator of.

On August 13, 2003 a package of documents arrived from Mr. Noel T.
Benoist.
These are quotes from Noel Benoist's "FOR THE
RECORD":
- I have NEVER told anyone I was a POW! I
went on a prisoner count mission. The other day I ran into a
guy [Jim Holland] who was in the camp I went to count and I recounted stuff to him
that I wouldn't know if I wasn't there....
- I tried to save 1000 men but the Colonel in charge wouldn't listen
- I DID NOT LOSE THEM! I have suffered enough for a number of
lifetimes....
- Dear Mr. Clinton:
I was in military intelligence
and my records were altered to "fit."...
- ... August 66 and May 67 I finished O.C.S., went to V. N. where
the commander got my entire platoon wiped out...
- ... dying declaration from Dr. Tony Diamond ...shows Benoist was
both in Vietnam and was a Major in January 1969....
- ...Mr. Benoist was a mountain man, known at all times to be an
expert shot.... The "Airborne Ranger" training, Green
Beret orientation (with Medal of Honor winner Sgt. Michaels as one
of his trainers), joint operation time with "Recon" and
the "Seals" and other records have been removed and/or
altered...
