More about Dave....

 
This letter is from another 173d Airborne Trooper who was severely wounded by a booby trapped 105 round near LZ English ... He lost a lung and quite a bit of muscle, skin, and tissue off his arms, torso, legs and head... though in constant pain for 30 some odd years ... He has never given up on himself, the USA or the BROTHERHOOD of REAL veterans..
   . He speaks for all of us in his answer to Mom's letter about "forgiving" Dead Dave Rennie for scamming so many vets, their families and friends of Vets ... There are hundreds of others who would like a chance to speak to Dave Rennie ..  If only to ask him ... "WHY?"

Dear Mom...
 
Please don't feel offended by these emails you are getting. Somehow, someone in our group accidentally added your name to the list, or it might have supposed to been a one time only thing, but we sometimes always hit reply to all before looking at the names, since it is our own group.
 
It comes from the letter you wrote about dead dave I guess? I read that letter and I wish sometimes I could forgive as easily as you can. After what he did to you and the rest of us, YOU are still able to find it in your heart to let it slide, and just let him deal with it in his own demented way.
 
I guess it's easier for someone that didn't have to fight the war, and has no idea what it was like. I wish I was one of them. But I was there and I did fight, which is why it is so hard for us,(real Nam Vets) to just let it go. dead dave took away something from us. Something we hold so close to our heart, that only those of us that were there, know what it is.
 
You can't see it, hold it, hear it or smell it. You can only feel it. It is,  among other things, Honor, Duty, Country. But more than that, it is the Pride we Nam Vets have for one another, after coming back to a world where we had to endure thirty years of rejection, dejection, being labeled as losers and outcasts, baby killers, whiners, crazy, drug addicts, alcoholics, you name it and we were it. We were the cause of just about everything that went bad.
 
Not to mention every time something bad happens or is gonna or about to happen, you always hear "the experts" saying ... "We don't want to make the same mistakes again as we did in Vietnam". In other words, we, America, cannot ever be seen as losers again, at any cost, no matter what happens.  It will always go back to the Vietnam war, and the cowards that lost it.
 
My point is WE, the men and women that had to fight that dirty little war, fought as hard and as bravely as any other Americans in any other wars. We won almost every single battle that was fought over there. We fought for our country, because our country called upon us to do so. But then things changed, and for the worse. When we started hearing the news from home about the anti-war movement, and the people burning their draft cards, up and coming politicos joining the National guard. The others (cowards?) running away to Canada and other countries, leaving someone else defend their freedoms and pursuits of happiness. I wonder how they sleep at night now? 
 
It then became a different war. It was no longer fighting for Mom, the Flag and apple pie. We were now fighting for each other. Back to back. Determined to survive at any cost, and get back home to the "Real World," no matter what we had to do, or who we had to kill,  to make it. After all, no one but our families cared about us, so we didn't care either. (We did, but it didn't matter because "It Don't Mean Nothin")
 
dead dave rennie, by his demented actions and lack of conscience of them, for the harm he caused, and the wounds he reopened ... that feeling like an ice pick going through our hearts ... AGAIN, must be made to pay the price and bear the burden of the wrath we will bring upon his sorry ass. (Sorry) After almost thirty years of putting up with all that I have mentioned; the losers, drunks, drug addicts, baby killers, whiners and what nots, it 's to much for us to just let this thing go. We have to bury dead dave, (after all, he did die) and make sure he NEVER dupes another real Nam Vet, and caring people like yourself, or causes the harm he has no idea he wrought.

...  I have sat quietly by after Poor Dave Rennie's latest DEATH and just watched the "show".....   I've known
that sorry asshole for years online, he was in a PTSD group that we had online for years, and he played it to the hilt.  He was always either dying, crying, stoned, or just plain crazy as a june bug. 

...  this stupid man just simply won't die....yet he seems to "die" whenever it's convenient for him.  I find it very interesting that he keeps on resurrecting himself whenever it suits him.

He told me himself, ...crying on the phone, that his daughter Jamie had been killed in a car wreck, that she was pregnant with a black baby, and that he had had to go to the morgue to identify her body.....and they they had had to

hold him back that he went totally wild.   Now....she is resurrected, too???? 

That is only ONE lie that he told, he whines about his problems constantly, he is a pathological liar, one after the other, and when he exhausts one means of gaining sympathy and God knows what else from veterans who are

really in need, he just moves on to another group and gains their sympathy.  He is indeed a poser, a faker, a liar and a wannabe.  I don't trust him in anything he says or does.  His lies have subtracted any good things that he might have done in his life, and I don't think there could possibly be many of them. 

He needs to be in a padded cell in a five point hug-me jacket...he is a lunatic.

I have spent some time trying to get hard copy to either prove or disprove the claims his and his accusers, but to no avail.. his promise to send me proving documents ...have never arrived. His recent attack on me has made me believe there is no help for him...I am currently awaiting a additional reply from the Big Red One assn., where he claims to be a life member. I was advised they are investigating.
