The P.O.W. NETWORK has received several complaints regarding an individual/group named Ms. Regina Moore, Lycos Support, Strike Force Freedom Cry. We suggest before contributing money or working with this group, you check with those that have tried to work with her in the past as noted below. Please DO NOT contact us as we have NO personal knowledge of the events as they unfolded. NOTE: ACCUSATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE THAT POW/MIA FREEDOM FIGHTERS - JEN BAUER MIGHT BE A PART/PLAY A PART IN THE BELOW SCAM. BE ADVISED THAT LADY JEN/JEN BAUER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BELOW SCAMS. BAUER'S GROUP HAS BEEN A LEGIT ACTIVIST ORGANIZATION FOR MANY YEARS AND HAS WORKED WITH COL. TED GUY, OPERATION JUST CAUSE, ROGER HALL AND THE FOIA LITIGATION FUND, AND THE P.O.W. NETWORK WITHOUT EVER COMPROMISING HERSELF OR THE POW ISSUE. SHE AND THE ORGANIZATION HAVE NO, REPEAT - NO, CONNECTION WITH REGINA MOORE OR STRIKE FORCE FREEDOM CRY. |

Date: Wed, 4 Sep 2002 10:14:36 -0400 First of all, I, Richard Campos, who put in alot of time informing Strike Force Freedom Cry (SFFC) about what should and should not be done to get things together for the Walk was not accomplished. To my information others from the group The Last Patrol, a group who has been Walkin' since 1985, also informed SFFC re: General Information. I have just recently returned home from Alabama after leaving there Monday, 9/2/02, the day after the first day of the supposed Walk, which was only 4.2 miles. The following is what happened prior to 9/1/01. I arrived in Alabama Thursday evening, stayed in Tuscaloosa, after driving from Denver, Colorado, to be there on Friday morning because I was told that the Fox TV station from Birmingham wanted to do an interview with Ms. Moore and myself to talk about the Walk, which I came to find out was not true. So that day Friday I arrived in West Blocton and went to Ms. Moore's home to introduce myself and to see what if anything else had to be taken care of prior to Sunday's kickoff. My main concern was to go over the route, at least for the first week
of Walkin' mileage, and to make sure that it was a safe route and to see
if The entire project was being run out of a bedroom where the computer and phone are and all contacts were either being done via the computer or by phone, so there was never any face to face meeting with anyone to try and secure any/all supplies, support vehicles or others that would be Walkin'. I was told that there were going to be others coming in from other States to participate on the Walk and they would be arriving on Saturday evening, well one couple, a Brother Vet and his wife from Florida did arrive in their RV of which I was told was going to be used as a support vehicle for the entirety of the Walk. After meeting with them on Sunday morning they did not realize that the Walk was going to be taking at least two plus months to accomplish and also that Ms. Moore's two girls were going along and that they would have in the RV the majority of the time while on the Walk, they were not prepared to be "babysitters" or to be there for the two plus months. There presented a problem. Another thing was that, even though I was allowed to stay at a motel in a town, about 15 miles from West Blocton, I had to drive back and forth daily to Ms. Moore's home to try and see if we could get out to recon the route, never happened, the interview with the TV station never happened. I spent Friday and Saturday mostly wasting time because nothing could be done. There was no other support vehicle that was going to be available at
all, there were no supplies, ie: bottled water, medical supplies, food,
lodging Saturday evening I had to take Ms. Moore and girls to a location about a 60 mile round trip to pick up a banner, a rather nice one, that was donated to SFFC for the Walk. On Sunday morning I again had to go to Ms. Moore's home to take her to her mothers house so that she could borrow her vehicle in order to be able to have a vehicle to get from the City Hall/Sheriff's Office back to her home to clean up and get back in time for the kickoff. Before hand since the people from Florida, whom at that time I was led to believe were going to be on the entirety of the Walk, and myself with Ms. Moore I asked that we all go in my vehicle to at least go and check the mileage that we were going to do for that day and also to drive ahead and double check the route and mileage for the following three days at least. The plan was to try and get in at least 13 miles a day. Well after marking the first day's 4.2 miles we drove along the route
that she, and I was led to believe - her staff - had planned out.
It was a route Anyway, on Sunday, while waiting for the time to begin the
"ceremonies" a contingent from Mississippi, consisting of two
Veterans, arrived, but they Other than that there were no others that had arrived to commit themselves to do any part, much less the whole, Walk. So there we were, Myself, Ms. Moore, the Brother from Florida for the entirety of the Walk. Others from Mobile, AL had arrived but they to were only there for that one day and two of them, one a young lady dressed rather nicely but not dressed to Walk who did do some Walkin' even though wearing heels, were there to give a short speech/presentation and then back home. The only other two Veterans (?) from West Blocton, were the Mayor and
the Sheriff, but they rode in their air-conditioned cars only thru town,
a Before I forget, during the Walk thru town, Ms. Moore, during the
first two to three blocks had to drop out due to not being able to
breathe properly When we got to the highway, we had approx. 1.6 miles to get to that days stop and about halfway there we stopped for a brief break and Ms. Moore decided she wanted to Walk some more. I mentioned to her that I wanted to make sure she could keep up because of safety reasons we could not have anyone lagging behind and to be sure she could do it. She said she could but after a short distance of Walkin' she had fallen behind close to about 50 yards or so, so we slowed down a bit but she could not keep up. Well enough of that, most of you on this list know of concerns of persons not being able to be healthy enough to Walk any distance, which we do allow persons to do so, but in the areas where safety is not as serious as on the main road, like going thru town is ok, but when one walks just a short distance and is already showing difficulties and is wanting to do in excess of 850 miles, that is not good. When finished for the day it was obvious that there were only to be maybe just two persons that could do any good Walkin' at any certain periods of time. No others, neither from out of State or other Veterans from the State of Alabama had shown up to offer any support or to even say that they would be able to paticipate in the days ahead. The couple from Florida were obviously not impressed with that particular day as well as myself and the lack of prepardeness for the rest of the Walk. Another thing is that I put in a lot of time trying to make sure that most of all of the prepardeness was supposed to be accomplished before the start and was not done, therefore making me rather supicious of this project being accomplished with additional help. And not only was time involved in this, I also put in alot of effort to make sure that there would be some sort of way to try and get monetary efforts to help out on this Walk by having 288 t-shirts printed and 144 caps embroidered with the SFFC logo to have donations made available for any expenses that could occur during the Walk. I was told by Ms. Moore that "everyone really loves the products and most likely all will be gone on the first day and would there be any chance of having more products done right away" so as to have more ready for the days ahead as we got into other States. A total of three shirts were dispensed for donations that Sunday, $45.00 for the shirts with an additional $5.00 donation, three more shirts were dispensed as well as one cap of which those monies were not received, so only a grand total of $50.00 have been reimbursed. Supposedly somone had sent a $100.00 check for four shirts and a cap but I never saw it, but also those products were not sent or dispensed. A total of $3,329.46, of which $3,000.00 came from monies borrowed from one of my daughters, was put out of pocket from this family in order to have the products available for this Walk. All in all this project was not properly prepared, so I packed up on Monday morning and headed back here to Denver to continue in assisting my wife who is in remission of Stage 3 Melanoma Cancer, having been made a "FOOL" of, and out not only of monies for products but also all fuel monies and lodging that were incurred to and from. I have spoken my peace!!! Thank You for those you of whom have had the patience to read this message in it's entirety. Sincerely, Richard Campos p.s. Notice how the website for SFFC is no longer available for
viewing. To all those who put so much time, effort and money into this utterly
shameful 'WALK', there are those of us out here who have a conscience
and WANT to help you re-coop your donations, your losses in what we ALL
felt was a worthwhile and worthy, TRUE and HONEST venture for our
Veterans and our POW/MIAs. I HOPE AND PRAY with the sincerety of
my heart, that one and ALL who ever donated to this March, to Ms. Regina
Moore, to STRIKEFORCE FREEDOM CRY, and any all other things related to
this same person and her ventures, will PERSONALLY EMAIL ME WITH YOUR
INFORMATION !! HELP US HELP YOU!!! We are TRYING in a
valiant effort to help regain the losses of all. But we can't
until people come forward to us with who they are, how much they donated
etc. Please, email me: dweller@neo.rr.com or Roger Helbig: helbig@california.com |

From: "Roger Helbig" <rhelbig@california.com> To: <info@pownetwork.org> Subject: Strike Force Freedom Cry and Regina Moore Date: Sat, 21 Sep 2002 15:04:39 -0700 Regina Moore and Strike Force Freedom Cry. Moore used over two dozen e-mail addresses and a number of web sites to promote her "walk for veterans rights" that got all of 4.2 miles before fizzling out. Since Moore made such an extensive effort to solicit donations for this walk under false pretenses; Strike Force Freedom Cry was not even a "real" organization, let alone tax exempt or non-profit and Moore never was ready to walk 850 miles (see attached photo), we are sure that there are a number of veterans and military families who were taken in by this scam. Contact me if you know of anyone who made a donation via either PayPal or a mailed check to the West Blocton, Alabama PO Box. We need to determine how much money this scheme netted and shut it down permanently. Thank you. Roger W. Helbig I think that this "non-organization" also was linked to your web ring. |

From: "*Guns* Gunny Di'ane" <dweller@neo.rr.com> I was just curious if you are aware that there are several direct links from Ms. Regina Moore's Strike Force Freedom Cry website which has scammed hundreds if not thousands of Veterans and Military Families out of hard earned monies and equipment, supplies, etc. over and over again with this website? I am just concerned that she not ruin the popular and wide reputation of further good and just causes as she has so damaged others. We are a group seeking to restore the good name of our U.S. Veterans and POW/MIAs and seeking justice for what this woman has done all in the name of them, how she has continued to get away with furthering her financial cause thru misuse of veterans' names and websites w/o their consent, knowledge or approval. We are Veterans trying to find some Justice for Veterans here. Diane Weller (Military Moms Online/VeteransRights USAF Ret. Law
enforcement disabled) Donations and contributions have not been refunded and Mr. Campos is
one sorry Veteran who was scammed out of over $3300.00 in embroidered
tshirts and caps for the walk that never was. It is with utter heartbreak that I am sorry to announce to one and all that all the sites, operation Christmas love 2002, the honor to our fallen military killed in, since, and during 9-11-2001 and ongoing have been deleted and shut down by TRIPOD/LYCOS/ANGELFIRE due to someone complaining they didn't like the site http://militarymomeone.tripod.com/crimeandshame/ THERE FORE LYCOS AND TRIPOD/ANGELFIRE DECIDEDLY DELETED ALL THE SITES. THEREFORE OPERATION CHRISTMAS 2002 AND HONORING OUR FALLEN MILITARY NO LONGER EXIST. Alot of hard work, time and effort, to not mention the research of listing all the names of each and every dead soldier, sailor, marine, airman over this past yr. is gone now. Just like their lives, their honor has now been taken too. I'm sorry. I cannot continue. My sincerest apologies to the families of our fallen heroes, our
wonderful project to help aid our deployed military overseas for the
Christmas season.....gone, it's all gone, destroyed, thank you Ms.
Regina Moore and Strike Force Freedom Cry, you ran a scam for money in
the ============ I built the site and all. I went to tripod to try to delete the file they found objectionable about SFFC only to discover they had taken ALL the sites and destroyed them. Not just the one, but all of them. It said that if I went into and deleted the one file ....... well there was no file to delete. I didn't back up the other sites cause they were only threatening to shut down the one exposing the scam. I don't understand why my exposing a scam with the cooperation of those who's words appeared on the site as proof it was a scam was shut down. Yet a site such as SFFC can stay up and running and soliciting funds which aren't going toward any Veteran organization or cause, but instead into a lazy, overweight woman's pocket. Do you know that we have now located HUNDREDS of links and sites in
her name and that of her 'cause'? Aol, yahoo, doteasy.com,
angelfire.....she's more outreaching than any of us ever imagined. and
uses so many alias it isn't funny. With Much Love and Many Prayers, Diane M. Weller *guns* |

you have abused MY RIGHTS by deleting TWO GREAT SITES that abided by
your terms and usage that the US Government and Military were ready to
back and you chose to delete them along with ONE that you found
offense too. I can understand your deletion of the crime and
shame site if you so chose to do so, although I disagree with my right
to disclose a person who is scamming american's out of thousands of $.
BUT in the same swipe of a deletion key, you took two GREAT sites off
that were Nationally Known for their GOOD CAUSES FOR OUR MILITARY AND
THAT THE US GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY WERE INTERESTED IN.

Please everyone who CARES, email and
bombard LYCOS/TRIPOD TO REINSTATE THE TWO GREAT SITES!!!
This is in
regards to a site which you have pulled completely off Tripod.
I know the whole
issue surrounding the pulling of ONE specific Page which was indeed
revised
http://militarymomone.tripod.com/crimeandshame yet you pulled down the whole Military Mom Site? Because we were concerned about people getting ripped off by a scam artist? So instead of pulling the "offending" page, which I repeat WAS changed, you pulled the whole site???????
Who am I? I am one
who is very concerned that the site you pulled, which never should
have been, is now going to affect America's Veterans and Active
Troops every where. Do you care??? Obviously not seeing as no one
knew what was going on when called and questioned and then a very
curt short "canned" response to see your legal page
followed.
I
for one ask you to please reinstate the Military Mom site.
