breaking the Republican Guard. Awarded
the Navy Cross by George Bush Senior.
Claims that he had the

did as a SEAL. He claimed that after Desert Storm he was
assigned 5 different identities for security reasons. He claimed
the two names he has now were also Navy driven.
He claims he left
the Navy as a Commander (officer), even though he started out
enlisted before finishing high school. He claims he was a Tactical
Warfare Officer in the Navy. Claims he graduated from BUDS.
He claimed to be
sniper trained in the Navy. Takes sole responsibility for having
found Sadaam Hussein.
Claims
attended the Naval War College in RI 9/1985-6/1987

possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations.
Unless he has
undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for
which there would be court documentation) since his claimed service with
the SEAL Teams, and based upon the information you have provided, I can
state conclusively that GERALD
CURTIS SHAPRUT has NEVER completed SEAL training, and
he is not now, nor was he ever a US Navy SEAL or UDT “Frogman”.
Please be aware that the SEAL database includes the names of all men who
served with the Underwater Demolition Teams (“Frogmen”). Since 1983
when the UDTs were all re-commissioned as SEAL Teams it has been the
convention within the Naval Special Warfare community to use the modern
term “SEAL” when referring to all men who ever served in any of the
SEAL ‘precursor’ units.
The
guy is using at least two (2) identities (although Gerald Curtis Sharput
is his legal name)… and has apparently used more.

His name was
Woodrow "Woody" Virtis Havekost 12/01/1915 - 04/06/1989. Using
a website called newspaperarchives.com
found a newspaper story from the 01/29/1965 Ukiah Daily Journal. The
reported that Woodrow Havekost is a Medal of Honor recipient who has
just moved to Ukiah, California. Additionally it claims he retired from
the US Army after 20 years of service. Both of these claims are false.
Supposedly he was awarded the Medal of Honor "in 1932 for risking
his life to rescue men from the gunboat Panay when it was shelled in the
Yantze". Ancestry.com shows he enlisted in the US Army on
07/08/1944 when he was 28 years old.

Has anyone learned whether he is taking donations or
accumulating money for these 'trips' into Burma? Is
there cash involved in this?
Did some digging and there is no going into Burma without an
official tour group. Even USAID is
still trying to figure out how to operate there. And going in
with some kind of 'paramilitary' team to
deliver aid is tantamount to suicide. So the logical conclusion
might be that he is faking these deployments
and pocketing the cash. And since Burma (Mayanmar, technically)
is closed... there is no way to check
whether aid was delivered.

|
Sir,
I greatly appreciate your
interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your
search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make
clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US
Dept. of Defense or any other government organization. My efforts to
expose SEAL imposters are performed as a service to the public, and
in honor of my fallen SEAL Teammates… men who truly earned the right
to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand
forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their
TEAMs.
If the name you provided is
spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL Database
(SEAL Teams and predecessor units from 1943 to the Present Day) for
anyone named R. J. HEAD. I
have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with
similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be
applicable.
Unless he has undertaken the
unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there
would be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his
claimed participation in SEAL training, and based upon the
information you have provided, I can state conclusively that R.
J. HEAD has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor
was he ever a Navy SEAL, a Navy UDT “Frogman”, a member of any Naval
Combat Demolition Unit (NCDU), or a member of the Naval Amphibious
Scouts & Raiders (S&R).
Many SEAL imposters when
confronted with the information I have provided will resort to
claiming that their records are sealed, burned or their SEAL
Operations were Classified and that there are no official records of
them.
Before any classified
operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man must first
successfully complete the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S)
Training program and then the follow-on secondary training program.
The names of all those who successfully graduate from that training
program sequence are compiled in the SEAL database. Later
participation in classified operations has "no impact" on whether or
not a person is listed as a graduate of the training program.
There are records of every man
who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have been and will
continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs.
Once again I must stress that
although I am a US Navy veteran, and a former SEAL, I am a civilian
performing in an entirely unofficial role. I strongly recommend that
you obtain a formal/official US NAVY statement regarding Mr. R.
J. HEAD's claimed SEAL credentials. To do so you may contact the
PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE at the NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE COMMAND in San
Diego by calling (619) 522-2823, or you may contact the FOIA
COORDINATOR at the NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE COMMAND in San Diego,
California, and submit a formal FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT inquiry
in writing addressed to:
Commander

Thank you again for your
concern in this matter, and for your assistance in upholding the
honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can be of any further

convenience.

I don't have to show ANY
forms to ANYONE to prove ANYTHING. Like
I stated I have RESPECT- CREDIBILITY-
and KNOWLEDGE of my past as a few others
know--I will be diving with my "BUD'S"
buddy from Charleston [SC], in the month
of August. Do you want him to come by
and give you one of his "EARS".
Oddly enough "CCT"=="CLOSE COMBAT
TRAINING". I was fortunate to achieve
certain levels of martial arts at a
teenage level [very good levels], be an
extremely gifted athlete and a DIVER.
I also don't care about a list-[I hope
it recognizes the 41 SEALS that passed
in NAM'].
Shit this is like being in the
principals office for NOTHING--until I
PROVE to you about my past ?.
Like I stated in a way early, your
missions at times are to prove and
demean others--for YOU are the only
correct person in the room.
Hell I was the BOSTON GLOBE'S athlete of
the year in 68'---got a watch, wanna see
it or write to the GLOBE===4:13 mile. I
know this and I don't care if anybody
else does.
Like I have to be redundant--I DID my
past--I don't care what YOU believe or
DON'T BELIEVE. For I am the one that
counts. Hey come wreck diving with us
in August, I will pay---bring your "A"
game---20 wrecks. Talk to my SEAL buddy
and fire your questions at him.
I am calm by the way, for I have NOTHING
to prove--NOTHING. To my CLOSE peers,
my word is GOLD. Speaking of color--I
am working toward my 3rd black
belt--this one is in KRAV--know it ?
Believe it ?

NO MILITARY RECORDS could be located.
Daniel Heary is NOT listed in the
SEAL Database either and he was NEVER a Navy SEAL.
When "Cornered" many SEAL Fakes
will resort to saying "My records are sealed, burned, or my missions are so
classified that there are no records of me."
No one is recruited into SEAL
Team and every man MUST attend and GRADUATE BUD/S Training. (SEAL Training)
Graduates of BUD/S Training (Records) are NOT classified information...
If a man is NOT listed in the

An armed man who tried to enter an East Austin apartment Saturday
night by identifying himself and his dog as sworn officers was charged
with impersonating a public servant, according to an affidavit filed
today.
An police officer arrested Chad Heck, 28, just after 7:30 p.m.
outside the apartment in the 4900 block of E. Oltorf Street. The
occupants of the apartment called 911 after a man asked permission to
enter the apartment....
When the officer asked the suspect if he was a sworn officer he said
no, but added that he was an inactive Navy SEAL. The dog with the
suspect was a mixed breed that did not appear to the officer to be the
kind trained for police work.

HECKER, ERIC ALEN |
10/2010 |
. |
CLAIMS Navy SEAL.
Reportedly arrested in Colonial Heights Va for brandishing a firearm,
battery on a police officer and two women EMT's (the week of
10/9/1010/2010). =======================================
The records from the National Personnel
Records Center clearly show that Mr.
ERICH ALEN HECKER
entered the US Navy as a new recruit on 11 Jan 1990, and was
discharged from the US Navy (holding a rank of E-3 enlisted paygrade
3) on 18 Sep 1991. Total time in the US Navy was ONE YEAR, EIGHT
MONTHS, and ONE WEEK.
The only skill
training which Mr. HECKER
received above and beyond Basic Training (boot camp) was “Gunner’s
Mate “A” School. He also participated in a 36 hour course entitled
NAVY ALCOHOL AND DRUG SAFETY ACTION PROGRAM (NADSAP). He reported to
Gunner’s Mate “A” School training on 31 Mar 1990 (immediately
following his completion of ‘boot camp’), and he left the school on
21 Nov 1990.
Mr.
HECKER was transferred to
the SERVICE SCHOOL COMMAND at Great Lakes, Illinois, for “Limited
Duty” on 21 Mar 1991, and he was Discharged from the US Navy on 18
Sep 1991.
That is the sum
total of all training and military experience held/received by Mr.
HECKER. He never
received any specialized ‘warfighter’ training or any sort, and
never got anywhere near the Naval Special Warfare Command in San
Diego, California where SEALs are trained. His total time in the US
Navy (including ‘boot camp’, all other schooling, and all duty)
amounted to less time than is necessary for the total training of a
US Navy SEAL.
|
I greatly appreciate your
interest in upholding the honor of the US
Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for the
TRUTH. Before answering your questions I
must make clear that I am a private
individual, not affiliated with the US Dept.
of Defense or any other government

If the name
you provided is spelled correctly, I do
NOT
find a listing in the SEAL Database (SEAL
Teams and predecessor units from1943 to the
Present Day) for anyone named
ERIC ALEN HECKER.
I have also examined possible alternate
spellings, and names with similar
pronunciations without finding any that
appear to be applicable. In
point of fact there is only ONE (1) man with
the last name “HECKER” listed among the
17,600+ entries of the SEAL Database. That
one man completed SEAL Training in 2008 and
is currently serving on active duty.
Unless he has undertaken the
unlikely action of a legal name change (an
action for which there would be evidence in
the form of court documentation) since his
claimed participation in SEAL training, and
based upon the information you have
provided,
I can state
conclusively that ERIC ALEN HECKER has NEVER
COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now,
nor was he ever a Navy SEAL, a Navy UDT
“Frogman”, a member of any Naval Combat
Demolition Unit (NCDU), or a member of the
Naval Amphibious Scouts & Raiders (S&R).
When members of the Naval
Special Warfare community meet others who
claim similar service, but whom they do not
recognize, there is a conversational
exchange of information that establishes the
bona fides of each to the other. There is no
set formula for this exchange, nor for the
information that is exchanged, but it ALWAYS
takes place, and the REAL Naval Special
Warfare members can ALWAYS spot an imposter
as a result of this exchange. If Mr.
HECKER
persists in insisting that his SEAL claims
are legitimate, I might suggest that you ask
him these questions:
-Since
there is no listing in the SEAL Database for
the name you are currently using,
WHAT NAME
DID YOU USE during SEAL training?
-What
was his
Training
Class Number?
(No SEAL ever forgets his class number, and
there are no secret classes)?
-Where
did his training take place? (Training has
been conducted at several locations over the
years; different portions in different
places)?
-When
did he graduate from SEAL training? (i.e. a
specific graduation
DAY/DATE)?
-What
were his Primary and Secondary Naval
Enlisted Classification (NEC) codes, or what
was his Naval Officer Billet Code (NOBC)?
-Which
SEAL Team(s) did you serve on, and when?
The
answers to those questions are totally
UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL will
gladly provide that substantiating
information upon request.
Before any
classified operations may be undertaken as a
SEAL Operator, a man must first successfully
complete the Basic Underwater
Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Training program and
then the follow-on secondary training
program. The names of all those who
successfully graduate from that training

operations has no impact on whether or not a
person is listed as a graduate of the
training program. There are records of every
man who has qualified for the title of
“SEAL”; there have been and will continue to
be secret missions, but there are NO secret
SEALs.
I must also
note that the Vietnam War ended with the
signing of the Paris Peace Accords in
January 1973. For two years after that the
only US personnel in South Vietnam were the
members of the US Diplomatic Corps and the
handful of US Marine Corps personnel
detailed to provide security at the US
Embassy in Saigon. If you have correctly
reported Mr. HECKER’s age at approximately
42 years old, then he would have been a
newborn baby about the time the Peace
Accords were signed and ALL U.S. COMBAT
FORCES returned home. The only “memories” he
would have about Vietnam would be what he’d
seen in the movie theaters.
Once again I
must stress that although I am a US Navy
veteran, and a former SEAL, I am a civilian
performing in an entirely unofficial role. I
strongly recommend that you obtain a
formal/official US NAVY statement regarding
Mr. ERIC
ALEN HECKER’s claimed SEAL

PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE at the NAVAL SPECIAL

2000 Trident Way

Please feel free
to distribute copies of this letter to any

you again for your concern in this matter,
and for your assistance in upholding the
honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can be
of any further assistance to you in this
matter, please contact me at your

If
any individuals to whom you distribute a

this man’s outrageous false claims, please

MAN
WHO POSED AS MILITARY GENERAL WITH PHONY RIBBONS CHARGED IN FEDERAL
COURT
A
Montebello man who misrepresented his military service by posing as a
U.S. Army General and recipient of the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and
the Silver Star, was due in court today to face federal charges of
violating Title 18, U.S .Code, Section 704 and 702; the unauthorized use
of military Medals or Decorations, and the unauthorized use of the
Uniform of the Armed Forces. Augustine Hernandez, 76, of
Montebello, was summoned to appear in court Wednesday but did not, due
to a medical condition which left him hospitalized, according to a
family member.
According
to a document filed in support of these charges in U.S. District Court
in Los Angeles, Hernandez was observed and photographed
wearing the uniform of a Major General of the U.S. Army while attending
a memorial ceremony in Montebello, California. The ceremony was
held in December 2006 to posthumously honor Guy Gabaldon, a U.S. Marine
who was awarded the Navy Cross.
The charges allege that Hernandez wore ribbons on his uniform during the
ceremony, including the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Purple
Heart.
Members of the military community who attended the ceremony became
suspicious of Hernandez’ uniform and ribbons and hired a private
investigator to investigate whether or not Hernandez was misrepresenting
his military service. The private investigator subsequently shared
evidence with the FBI indicating Hernandez had never attained the rank
of General and had never received the awards for which he wore ribbons.
An FBI check with the Federal Records Center in St. Louis,
Missouri containing Hernandez’ official military personnel folder
revealed that Hernandez was honorably discharged by the U.S. Army in
1954 as a Private, First Class, and contained no record of Hernandez
having earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star or the Purple Heart.
The
Silver Star, the fifth-highest military decoration that can be awarded
to a member of the U.S. Army, is a service medal and ribbon authorized
by Congress for the armed forces of the United States in December 1942.
The
Bronze Star, the tenth-highest military decoration that can be awarded
to a member of the U.S. Army, is a service medal and ribbon of the armed
forces of the United States, authorized by President Franklin Roosevelt
under Executive Order 9419 in February 1944.
The
Purple Heart is a service medal and ribbon of the armed forces of the
United States awarded in the name of the president to those who have
been wounded or killed while serving.
Hernandez
is scheduled to be back in court for a continuance of his hearing in
August 2007. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum
sentence of one year in jail and other penalties.
This
case was investigated by the FBI in Los Angeles and St. Louis and is
being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.
==================================
Date: August 17, 2007
9:16:50 AM PDT
Gus Hernandez appeared in Federal Court yesterday and pled guilty to all
counts of impersonating a military officer, wearing the uniform of a
military officer and wearing the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple
Heart without authorization and without being awarded those medals.
He also admitted that he did not receive a battlefield commission and
that his award certificates are bogus. He admitted that his highest rank
was a PFC in the Army.
Gus was sentenced to two years probation and a fine of $270.00.
The U.S. attorney asked for a $2,000 fine and community service but the
judge was lenient because of Gus' age, apparent ill health and his being
destitute. He was unable to pay the fine and was given one week to pay.
The FBI is shipping Gus's confiscated uniform, medals and ribbons to
their Washington D.C. office where it will be included in an FBI
traveling display and will be taken across the country for exhibit.
The FBI hopes to deter others from similar illegal acts.
The judge opined that the shame and humiliation was sufficient to deter
Gus from repeating what he has done.

Sirs,
I submit this apology to your site and to all Rangers and
combat veterans I have surely offended by my actions and
claims. On various site on the internet and to several
people I met I claimed to have been assigned to 3rd Ranger
Battalion and to have fought in Panama and the Battle of
Mogadishu.
These were nothing less than lies. While I did serve in
the US Army (1988-1991), I was a 31K (Combat Signaler) and was
not even Airborne Qualified, let alone a Ranger. I
served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, but was not in the
theater, I was in Korea assigned to Charlie Company, 1st
Signal Battalion at Camp Colbern. Before being shipped
to Korea I served 11th ADA Brigade at Ft. Bliss, Texas
I cannot apologize profusely enough to the men who did live
through the deeds I lied to have been a part of. Because
of my job (I own a business) I interact with many veterans
passing through, usually make it a point of conversation.
After being exposed as a fraud, I had an encounter with a vet.
It was somehow liberating to state what my service consisted
of and not claiming any heroics. In the long run, being
busted is a good thing. I only hope that the men I
have offended, can find it in their hearts to forgive my
transgressions.
Thank you,
Fortunato Hinojosa III

That letter was dated 18 July 2006; however, he continued to
write lies about his military record after providing you with this
letter of apology. In the following posts as Speed_Addiction
on the Cycleforums website.
“I already put my time in the Army, Dude. I was in Iraq the
FIRST time we went there.”
09-12-2006 01:20 PM
[And then with regard to PFC Tillman being killed by friendly
fire] "In a confusing situation like that, Rangers identify
themselves by shouting, "Rangers!" or "Rangers
Ho!" 11-09-2006 05:50 PM
In the first post he claims to have been a Desert Storm veteran,
which is a lie according to his DD-214, and his own admission.
In the second post he is attempting to pass as someone
knowledgeable about Ranger combat operations, without actually
saying he's a Ranger. This is a violation of the spirit of
the agreement not to post lies about his military record,
especially coming from someone who was court-martialed and then
dishonorably discharged. The details about his deceit can be
seen at the attached web site.
