| GREEN, JEFFRY H | 12/2011 | NY | Family
stated their father told them he served in the Navy Seals in Vietnam.
Publicly stated during funeral services that he was a Vietnam Vet and a SEAL
in Vietnam. |
Served from 11/2/70 to 1/12/73. I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a service to the public, and in honor of my fallen SEAL Teammates… men who truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.
If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL Database (SEAL Teams and predecessor units from 1943 to the Present Day) for anyone named JEFFERY H. GREEN. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable.
Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his claimed participation in SEAL training, and based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively that JEFFERY H. GREEN has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL, a Navy UDT “Frogman”, a member of any Naval Combat Demolition Unit (NCDU), or a member of the Naval Amphibious Scouts & Raiders (S&R).
Many SEAL imposters when confronted with the information I have provided will resort to claiming that their records are sealed, burned or their SEAL Operations were Classified and that there are no official records of them. Before any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man must first successfully complete the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Training program and then the follow-on secondary training program. The names of all those who successfully graduate from that training program sequence are compiled in the SEAL database. Later participation in classified operations has "no impact" on whether or not a person is listed as a graduate of the training program.
There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs.
Once again I must stress that although I am a US Navy veteran, and a former SEAL, I am a civilian performing in an entirely unofficial role. I strongly recommend that you obtain a formal/official US NAVY statement regarding Mr. JEFFERY H. GREEN's claimed SEAL credentials. To do so you may contact the PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE at the NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE COMMAND in San Diego by calling (619) 522-2823, or you may contact the FOIA COORDINATOR at the NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE COMMAND in San Diego, California, and submit a formal FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT inquiry in writing addressed to:
Commander Naval Special Warfare Command FOIA Coordinator 2000 Trident Way San Diego, CA 92155
Thank you again for your concern in this matter, and for your assistance in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can be of any further assistance to you in this matter, please contact me at your convenience.
Respectfully, Don Shipley BUD/S 131, SEAL Team ONE, SEAL Team TWO. Owner http://www.extremesealexperience.com/ |

The man pictured on this web page is not now and never was a Navy SEAL, nor was he a legitimate Naval Officer. His poor spelling and horrendous grammar, and the manner in which he expresses his ideas, makes it absolutely clear that he is not a graduate of any institution of higher learning, much less the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, and most certainly not SEAL material. The sentiments he has express to mothers whose children are going in harm’s way as members of the US Navy are nothing more than repetitions of blasé statements made by others, while making a pathetic attempt to mimic those who truly earned the right to the title “SEAL” in a feeble and pitiable effort to gain attention. Pathetic as those efforts have been, he has crossed the line from meaningless braggadocio and idiotic chest-thumping to transgression of federal laws. He has even been so kind as to provide a photograph of himself wearing the uniform of a US Naval Officer (which is at least two sizes too large for him), and wearing military honors and awards which he has not earned (including the SEAL Trident insignia). Whether
he realizes it or not, real Navy veterans are paying attention to what
people like him are doing, and are prepared to involve the federal
authorities. Copies of everything he has posted, including chat logs,
photographs, and communications headers which can be used to point
directly to his ISP and home computer will be turned over to federal law
enforcement authorities. They will be urged in the strongest possible
way to prosecute you to the fullest extent of any/all federal, state,
and local laws which your idiotic charade has transgressed. Sadly there
are many like him who have attempted to steal the reputation earned by
the real Navy SEALs, so the federal authorities has a lot of people like
him on their schedule; while he waits for them to knock on his front
door, he might think about looking online for information regarding the
STOLEN VALOR ACT of 2005. If I were him I’d pay particular attention
to the amount of jail time and the size of the financial fines you are
facing. Respectfully, Steve
Robinson |

GRINNELL, DICK AKA GRINNELL, RICHARD C |
CA | 06/2011 |
The Mountain Democrat, article on Monday, 5/30/2011, page one, is about Dick Grinnell, age 75 yrs, claiming to have been a 16 yr old in the USMC serving in Korea in 1952. Mr. Grinnell claims he went on a secret mission to rescue a Marine Corps officer being held captive by North Koreans. He was with a seven man unit that parachuted into North Korea. Four of the team died during the jump, Grinnell and two others were captured. They were then held were the POW Marine officer was being held in a pig stye, under a house. The officer was in dress blues. Grinnell claims they managed to escape with the officer and crossed North Korea to find American lines. Only Grinnell and the officer survived the trip. Grinnell was given a Silver Star medal, but lost it when it was found he was only 16 yrs. Somehow, Grinnell then served a total of 9 yrs in the Marine Corps, leaving in 1960 after having served a brief tour in Vietnam in a non-combat tour. |
This is in response to your email sent to the Marine Corps
Heritage Foundation, which was forwarded to me at the Marine
Corps History Division.
I have pulled the two articles you mention which discuss Mr
Grinnell. I went through our records of individuals who served
in the Marine Corps from 1798 to 1971. I was unable to locate
any Marine named "Richard Grinnell" or "Dick Grinnell" that
matched the dates of service mentioned in the articles. The
articles mention that Mr Grinnell was wounded three times during
the Korean War; I could NOT find any corroborating evidence of
this either.
As for his claim that he earned a Silver Star and it was revoked
due to his fraudulent enlistment; I can find no evidence that a
Silver Star was awarded to any Marine by the last name
Grinnell. Furthermore, the claim that the award was revoked due
to his age, is simply not true. A famous case of a fraudulent
enlistment which resulted in a heroic act is PFC Jacklyn Lucas
of WWII. PFC Lucas was 14 when he enlisted and later was
awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions. You can read about
this on our website:
http://www.tecom.usmc.mil/HD/Whos_Who/Lucas_JH.htm
A further claim by Mr Grinnell (in the article) was that he was
wounded during "mopping up" operations after the Inchon landing
in 1952. The Inchon landing took place in 1950, not 1952.
Furthermore, MacArthur was dismissed by President Truman in
1951.
I hope this information is helpful to you. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
.....

I am contacting you on a person claiming to be a MSG in the Army. This
person has a ribbon rack that only God himself, could have earned. He
also claims CIB with 2 stars, Master Parachutist, Special Ops, and Ranger,
which he referred to being in the Ranger Department, and not Regiment. He
states he is currently awaiting a Med Board, which he says he beat and is
awaiting return to Ft. Erwin. His lies are sick, and bring dishonor for all
those true heroes. Below is the ribbon rack of God. Ribbon Rack of God, Defense Distinguished Service Medal -Bronze Hourglass, Silver Oakleaf Cluster*1, V for valor Army Distinguished Service Medal -Bronze Oakleaf Cluster*2, V for Valor Silver Star -Bronze Arrow Head, Silver Oakleaf Cluster*1, V for valor Defense Superior Service Medal -Bronze Oakleaf Cluster*2, Bronze Arrow Head Legion of Merit -Bronze Oakleaf Cluster*2, V for Valor Soldier’s Medal -Bronze Oakleaf Cluster*3 Bronze Star -Numeral 5 Device, Silver Oakleaf Cluster*1, V for Valor Purple Heart -Numeral 8 Device, Silver Oakleaf Cluster*1, V for Valor Defense Meritorious Service Medal -Bronze Campaign Star Meritorious Service Medal -Numeral 3 Device Joint Service Commendation Medal -Numeral 6 Device Army Commendation Medal -Numeral 3 Device Joint Service Achievement Medal -Numeral 8 Device Army Achievement Medal -Numeral 4 Device POW Medal -Bronze Campaign Star Good Conduct Medal -Good Conduct Knot*2 National Defense Ribbon -Bronze Campaign Star Coast Guard Arctic Service Medal -Numeral 3 Device NCO Professional Development Ribbon -Numeral 6 Device Overseas Service Ribbon -Bronze Arrow Head United Nations Ribbon -No Device European - African - Middle Eastern Campaign Medal -(Warn upside down) with Campaign star Medal for Humane Action -No Device Kosovo Campaign Medal -Bronze Campaign Star Kuwait Liberation Medal- Saudi Arabia -No Device Korean Service Medal -Silver Campaign Star Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal -Bronze Arrow Head, Numeral 3 Device United Nations Operation in Somalia Medal -Silver Oakleaf Clusters*2, Bronze Arrowhead, V for Valor Global War on Terrorism Service Medal -Silver Oakleaf Cluster*2 Humanitarian Service Medal -Numeral 8 Device NATO- Kosovo Ribbon -Silver Good Conduct Knot*2 Afghanistan Campaign Medal -Numeral 9 Device, Bronze Star Campaign Medal United Nations Iraq/Kuwait Observer Mission Medal -Bronze Oakleaf, Numeral 6 Device, Bronze Arrowhead Iraq Campaign Medal -Bronze Arrow Head Does not have: Army Service Ribbon Kuwait Liberation Medal- Kuwait (+)or (-) 182 medals awarded I say plus or minus because I am not sure if all of the numeral devices are correct, because of the blurry pic with the camera phone, but obviously a huge crock of shit. He claims to still be awaiting PCS to Ft. Erwin to go to a psy-ops unit. |
A lot of the medals/ribbons listed do not use the numeral device. This is
VERY fishy.
For instance....The Joint Service Commendation Medal. Kathy has one for
serving in Turkey in Operation Northern Watch. Repeat awards of this medal
are specified as oak leaf clusters (bronze or silver) NOT numerals.
POW Medal ribbon with bronze service star? Not unless he was a POW in two
separate wars.
The arrowhead is NOT authorized on the Silver Star. Nor is the
"V" device. (A Silver Star is specifically for Valor. Adding a
"V" for Valor is kinda redundant...and NOT authorized.)
Bronze Star and Purple Heart with numerals...NOT authorized.
Purple Heart...Numeral 8 and silver OLC and a "V" device? Not a
chance in hell. (Lets see...A silver OLC is a fifth award, plus the
numeral 8, plus the one for the medal itself = 14 awards. If this were
true, he'd set off airport metal detectors from the parking lot!) Not to
mention that mixing numerals and OLCs on ANY medal or ribbon is against
ALL regulations.
Legion of Merit...CANNOT be worn with a "V" device.
Soldier's Medal...this is a NON-WARTIME award...having devices on a
Soldier's or Airman's medal is UNHEARD of.
European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign...WWII ONLY!
Not only is this guy a liar, he's a VERY POOR liar, and has NO knowledge
whatsoever of Awards and Decs, or the proper wear and precedence of
awards, AND the time frames of issuance of certain medals and ribbons.
He's as clumsy as he is stupid. This ribbon rack should be displayed in a
museum with a plaque reading "Never underestimate the power of human
stupidity."
