Mr. Costella/Costello claims he was awarded the
Navy Cross for actions during the Battle of Hue City in 1968. He
was also wearing the Vietnam Service ribbon AND VN Presidential
ribbon of friendship...

quote
I went to Suitland High School in Forestville, MD ......
One of my favorite teachers there was Mr. (Pat) Costello.
He was a great teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed his classes. One
of the more vivid memories was of him describing how he had been a
Force Recon Marine in Vietnam and had received the Navy Cross for his
actions there. The two anecdotes that I remember the most was
his description of him charging a trench full of NVA/VC tossing
grenades and clearing out the trench, this action was earned him the
Navy Cross, and how he was wounded by a grenade and then shot in his
side while lying wounded from the grenade. He also said
that he had attained the rank of GySgt in his short time
in the Marines (I believe he said 3 years) because the guys in his
unit kept getting killed off.
All of this was well known to the faculty and student body at Suitland
HS, though some might not have paid too close attention. I have
always been interested in the military and at the time was in the Navy
NJROTC unit at the school and listened to everything he talked
about with rapt attention. I was aware of the significance of
the Navy Cross at the time and felt privileged to be in the
company of such a hero. Unfortunately, this is not the first
indication that I have had that he might have been a fraud, out
of curiosity a few years ago I looked his name up on a list
of Navy Cross winners in Vietnam and he was not on it.
I just wanted to give you some more information on Pat
Costello and how long he has been doing it.

4/23/2007 I am a
former student of Patrick S. Costello and I am writing to say that he is
a phony. He would spend class after class telling his war stories about
being a Marine in Force Recon. Many days we didn't do class work but
would listen to him tell all of his stories. We all knew he was a phony
because the stories changed so often. He also told us he played football
at University of Alabama and lots of other things we knew weren't true
because he told he was in Vietnam at the same time he was at Alabama. My
grandfather, who was in Army, said there was someone on your site I
might know. I wasn't surprised to see Cost's picture there. I checked
with Alabama's athletic department and they confirmed he never even went
to school there. I also found out other things that makes me believe he
is very sick. He hates the military and the government and spent as much
time in class telling bad things about them as he did talking about
being a war hero. We all knew he was crazy. Now I know for sure he is. (name

Hi
I don't know anyone with the FBI, but I think they will get around
to him. After reading the student's comments on the POW
Network site, I no longer have even a shadow of a doubt about his
lack of credibility. The story he told his students doesn't
even resemble the story he told us last year. I am going to
get the name of the principal and send a letter to Suitland
High School.
I will keep you posted. Talk to you soon.

Greetings from Florida;
I visit your fine website quite often
and am both amazed and irritated by the individuals
listed who have faked or lied about serving in the
military as well as wearing unauthorized
decorations.
I see that somebody up in Maine
finally decided to ask about Mr. Costigan's Navy
Seal action yarns. It must have got a little out of
hand for someone to do that. You see when he was
here before transferring some appr. 10 years ago, he
would regale his fellow co-workers, down here in
Florida, with his secret Seal (classified of course)
falsehoods. Most of us listening had served in the
military at some point in time and his stories just
didn't seem believable.
His one story of being a; as he
called it "Tunnel Digger" was quite interesting. I
actually found myself correcting him with the right
terminology (tunnel rat), but he still kept calling
it the former, stating he would go down there with a
shotgun(!?) I always thought they used M1911 .45s.
One of the guys there asked him he used a Stoner and
Mr. Greg didn't know what it was, nor could or would
he recall his SEAL team or leader. He made mention
of being on the SEAL Wall of Fame.

....I greatly appreciate your
interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your
search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make clear
that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of
Defense or any other government organization. I am one of about a dozen
men in America who possess a copy of the SEAL Database, a comprehensive
and regularly updated listing of all men who trained and served with the
Naval Special Warfare units (SEALs, UDT, NCDU, S&R) from the end of
WWII to the present day. I also have access to archival sources who can
verify/deny claims of service DURING WWII. As a former US Navy SEAL
myself, I am fully familiar with the NSW training program and the
standard operating procedures used by the Teams, as well as an in-depth
personal knowledge of many of the ‘insider’ events and incidents
which UDT “Frogmen” and SEALs offer as a part of their bona fides.
My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed free of charge, as a
service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL Teammates who gave their
lives in service to our nation… men who truly earned the right to the
title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in
defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.
If the name you provided
is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL database for
anyone named GREGG COSTIGAN. Be aware that I have also
examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar
pronunciations. In fact there are NO ENTRIES in the SEAL Database for
anyone with the last name COSTIGAN.
Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an
action for which there would be court documentation) since his claimed
service with the SEAL Teams, and based upon the information you have
provided, I can state conclusively that GREGG COSTIGAN has NEVER
completed SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a US Navy
SEAL or UDT “Frogman”. Please be aware that the SEAL database
includes the names of all men who served with the Underwater Demolition
Teams (“Frogmen”). Since 1983 when the UDTs were all re-commissioned
as SEAL Teams it has been the convention within the Naval Special
Warfare community to use the modern term “SEAL” when referring to
all men who ever served in any of the SEAL ‘precursor’ units.....

AMERICAN VISITING VIETNAM SAW U.S. POWs ALIVE LAST YEAR
WITNESS SAYS HE'S "POSITIVE"
By Mike Blair "Spotlight" July 10, 1989
An American long-distance runner has told The SPOTLIGHT that he
witnessed
a group of American prisoners of war in communist captivity while he was
on
a goodwill run in Vietnam in 1988.
Stan Cottrell, a 46-year-old Georgian, friend of evangelist Billy
Graham
and a Jaycees "Outstanding Young Man of America" (1979), told The
SPOTLIGHT
in an exclusive interview that he personally saw "at least 20" American
POWs
being held in a heavily camouflaged tunnel complex north of the city of
Hue,
in what was formerly the Republic of South Vietnam, in February, 1988.
.....
=========================================
DON'T MISS:
http://stancottrell.wordpress.com/
He claims to have run in Vietnam in 1988 and 1990, chronicled in a
movie called "Destination DaNang." Information we have uncovered leads
us to believe that when he returned from these runs, he claimed to have
seen American POWs/MIAs, and he took money from POW/MIA family members
claiming to intend to use the money to get their loved ones out of the
country.
Based on what we have discovered about his other activities, we believe
there my be truth to these claims. This issue is very close to my
heart...
We have been unable to locate anyone who had direct involvement with him
in this issue. Perhaps you can make inquires of those were active at
that time in the POW/MIA community, in the late 80s and early 90s, and
ask if they know of anyone who may have had dealings with Stan....
From the little that we have been able to uncover about him in the past
three months, we believe that there are hundreds, and perhaps thousands
of people who have been taken advantage of by Stan Cottrell thru a wide
variety of unsavory activities. Until now, no one has been willing to
come forward publicly to talk about their experiences with him. The more
people who are willing to come forward and go public about their
experiences, the greater the likelihood that he will be unable to take
advantage of other people. |

| CRAIG, SEAN |
11/2010 |
. |
Dear Editor,
A story has appeared on your website
online this morning – Friday 5 Nov 2010
“Katherine
Duffy engaged to Sean Craig”

http://www.strausnews.com/articles/2010/11/05/new_york/milestones/joinings/1.txt
In that brief announcement about an
engagement, the following statement appears:
“Sean
is a graduate of Bishop George Ahr High School and served in the
United States Navy as a Navy Seal. He is employed by the City of
New York Police Department.”
This is particularly disturbing for
two reasons; (1) the name
SEAN C. CRAIG does not appear in the SEAL Database
which lists all successful graduates of the Navy’s Basic
Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training course, and (2)
because you cite the man’s current employer as being the NYPD.
Although Hollywood
would have viewers believe otherwise, the records of those who
participate in SEAL Training and serve with the SEAL Teams is
not classified or sequestered, nor is the fact that a man
actually served with the SEAL Teams considered classified.
Before any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL
Operator, a man must first successfully complete the Basic
Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Training program and then the
follow-on secondary training program. The names of all those who
successfully graduate from that training program sequence are
compiled in the SEAL database. Later participation in classified
operations has no impact on whether or not a person is listed as
a graduate of the training program. There are records of every
man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have been
and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret
SEALs.
While his claims of
being a Navy SEAL are not supported by the SEAL Database,
the biggest problem in this case
derives from the fact that a Law Enforcement Officer has
apparently been making false claims. Whether those false claims
of being a Navy SEAL appear in his resume or job application
with the NYPD, the claims of his having been a SEAL are now a
part of the public record and may be used/cited by anyone. Law
enforcement officials are held to the highest possible standards
of personal conduct when it comes to verbal testimony, not
simply because it is the right thing for them to do, but because
so often they are called upon to testify in court with regard to
the actions of others who are being held in custody and charged
with violating the laws.
If it becomes
known that Mr.
SEAN C. CRAIG’s name is
not listed among those of qualified Navy SEALs, and that his
claims of duty as a Navy SEAL are unsupported, then I suspect
that any sharp-eyed lawyers whose clients have been convicted in
whole or in part by testimony or work involving Mr.
CRAIG
might file for reexamination of those finding with the courts.
Mr. CRAIG’s
actions as a law enforcement officer whose honesty was supposed
to be “above reproach” effects every case and all of the people
with whom he has been involved during his career. If even one
aspect of his honesty can be shown to be less than solid, then
it may be legitimately argued that there may be other
times/situations when his honesty has been less than complete.
Virtually every legal case to which he contributed any written
or verbal statement or assessment will be subject to scrutiny.
The Law
Enforcement Department where he currently serves, the judiciary
which handles prosecutions for that department, and the
community he serves will have to bear the burdens (financial and
otherwise) if reexamination of evidence is required and retrials
are demanded. The potential impact of that false information
will fall squarely upon the shoulders of those in the community
who are working to uphold the laws. Telling tall tales over
drinks at a backyard barbeque is one thing, but offering false
military credentials to your employer is far different and
potentially far more damaging.
I suggest that
it would be in the very best interests of the community which he
serves and the judiciary which oversees that law enforcement
organization be informed of this situation at the earliest
possible time, and that the matter be resolved by that judiciary
before the potentially costly negative effects begin to appear.
I must stress that
although I am a US Navy veteran, and a former SEAL, I am a
civilian performing in an entirely unofficial role.
I very strongly urge you obtain
a formal/official US NAVY statement regarding Mr.
SEAN C. CRAIG’s
claimed SEAL credentials. To do so you may contact the PUBLIC
AFFAIRS OFFICE at the NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE COMMAND in San Diego
... or you may contact the FOIA COORDINATOR at the NAVAL SPECIAL
WARFARE COMMAND in San Diego, California, and submit a formal
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT inquiry.....
Thank you for taking
the time to read this. I am certainly aware of the many
different thoughts that must be running through your mind as you
read my words, and your concern that I might be some sort of
crackpot or someone with a vendetta of some sort. Nothing could
be further from the truth. As you will note in my signature
block I am a member of the Board of Directors of the POW
NETWORK, a federally-recognized NOT FOR PROFIT educational
organization. I voluntarily handle all of the inquiries received
by that organization which pertain to service with the US Navy’s
SEAL Teams, and I offer verification/denial of those claims by
checking names against those listed among the 17,600+ which
currently appear in the SEAL Database.
I have a “Google New
Alert” set up to scan the Internet for the term “Navy SEAL” to
watch for just such articles as the one you have published.
Unless he has undertaken the
unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which
there would be evidence in the form of court documentation)
since his claimed
service as a Navy SEAL,
I can state conclusively that
SEAN C. CRAIG
has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he
ever a Navy SEAL, a Navy UDT “Frogman”, a member of any Naval
Combat Demolition Unit (NCDU), or a member of the Naval
Amphibious Scouts & Raiders (S&R).
When members of the Naval Special
Warfare community meet others who claim similar service, but
whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational exchange
of information that establishes the bona fides of each to the
other. There is no set formula for this exchange, nor for the
information that is exchanged, but it ALWAYS takes place, and
the REAL Naval Special Warfare members can ALWAYS spot an
imposter as a result of this exchange. If Mr.
CRAIG
persists in insisting that his SEAL claims are legitimate, I
might suggest that you ask him these questions:
-Since there is
no listing in the SEAL Database for the name you are currently
using, WHAT NAME DID YOU USE
during SEAL training?
-What
was his Training
Class Number? (No
SEAL ever forgets his class number, and there are no secret
classes)?
-Where
did his training take place? (Training has been conducted at
several locations over the years; different portions in
different places)?
-When
did he graduate from SEAL training? (i.e. a specific graduation
DAY/DATE)?
-What
were his Primary and Secondary Naval Enlisted Classification
(NEC) codes, or what was his Naval Officer Billet Code (NOBC)?
-Which
SEAL Team(s) did you serve on, and when?
The answers to those
questions are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL will
gladly provide that substantiating information upon request.
Thank you, again, for your time. I
certainly hope that this matter can be resolved quickly and
without undue expenditures or embarrassment to the NYPD.

Sir,
I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy
SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your
questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not
affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government
organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a

truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer

If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing

Present Day) for anyone named CRAIG CRAWFORD. I have also examined
possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations
without finding any that appear to be applicable.
Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an
action for which there would be evidence in the form of court
documentation) since his claimed participation in SEAL training, and
based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively
that CRAIG CRAWFORD has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not

Many SEAL imposters when confronted with the information I have provided
will resort to claiming that their records are sealed, burned or their
SEAL Operations were Classified and that there are no official records
of them.
Before any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a

secondary training program. The names of all those who successfully
graduate from that training program sequence are compiled in the SEAL

There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of

Once again I must stress that although I am a US Navy veteran, and a
former SEAL, I am a civilian performing in an entirely unofficial role.
I strongly recommend that you obtain a formal/official US NAVY statement
regarding Mr. CRAIG CRAWFORD's claimed SEAL credentials. To do so you

Thank you again for your concern in this matter, and for your assistance

I
received two separate inquiries about this man from SEAL Teammates
online – PETER CREMER – claiming to be a graduate of BUD/S Class 140
“in 83-84”, and claiming to have served as a SEAL on SEAL Team TEN.
.... I’ve attached two screenshots – CREMER’s Facebook homepage
with his profile information, and his “picture”… actually a photo
of SEALs making a HALO jump which he found somewhere online and has
labeled as being a picture of himself with a smart-alecky comment about
“last man down buys the beer”.
CREMER
has posted several pictures of the SEALs he’s plucked from online
sources, including a well-known photo of SEALs who were KIA on 28 June
2005 in Afghanistan in Operation Redwing.
PETER
CREMER is NOT listed in the SEAL Database. BUD/S Class 140 did NOT
graduate in “83-84”.
I
seem to be getting more reports of these Facebook Phonies every day.

-----------
Received 08/2007
Perhaps there is no record of Paul Crimmins in Vietnam because he was
upriver in Cambodia and or Laos where the US was never officially
involved. Perhaps you should look into why his mom was informed
twice that her son was KIA. That sure would be odd for someone
who was just working on a sub. In fact, he did work on a sub,
but only after he was done with the special forces in SE Asia.
Check again, dig deeper. There is more to his story than you
think you know.

Paul Crimmins works for Augustus
construction....on it's website http://augustusconstruction.com/about-us.html
it has his picture and short bio
where it states he served in Vietnam 68-70...however during this time
......his service record states he was assigned to
the USS Abraham Lincoln (SSBN602) which is a submarine that was
stationed at Holy Loch conducting deterrent patrols. This conclusively
proves he was NOT in Vietnam....no former SEAL, combat vet with 4 tours
in country, highly decorated.....he was assigned to a sub on the East

Update
on Gregory D. Cullen
Gregory
D Cullen claimed to be an AF Major General was arrested on
3-5-2010 in
North Carolina
after, military veteran, staff members of the National Wild
Turkey Federation, NWTF, grew suspicious of Cullen and his
claims. Cullen was scheduled to appear at an NWTF function to
make a presentation and solicit money from the NWTF for his HERO
Foundation, and to receive funds donated from a Ft Bragg, NC
area church group. When Cullen arrived at the function the FBI
and local Sheriffs deputies were waiting on him. He was arrested
along with a female accomplice and escorted away in handcuffs.
It appears Cullen had been hiding out and on the run from a 19
year old deportation warrant. He was from the
UK
and illegally living in the
US
.
Factual
accounts of the arrest and charges can be obtained from the NC
FBI office and or District Attorney.

The man representing himself as "Doc" A.K.A. General
Cullen who spoke at the National Wild Turkey Federation Conference
in Nashville Tennessee (FEB 2010) posing as a Major General
in the Air Force, was apprehended by the F.B.I. and the Raliegh
N.C. Police for "Fraud, violating the Stolen
Valor Act and avoiding deportation for 19 years". Thanks to
this site the NWTF and Hunting With A Hero were saved. Attached

Reserves for a few years in late 70s and early 80s, never active

He claims he was a river rat and even posts pictures of his
adventures and "his boat". Conveniently, none of the faces can
be seen in the photos of Riverine Force.
Other insignia photos show he was scuba diver and completed
jump school. He never went to scuba school or jump school.
Also claims to be Force Recon.

Curtis, Patrick A.

Claims
Marine Naval Aviator, shot down in Vietnam in an F-4. Was
second husband of Raquel Welch. Claims he went to USC/NROTC and
graduated with a degree in Film and a commission in the Marines,
and went on to become a Marine Naval Aviator. He said he was in
Marine squadron VMF-323 (1962 -1964) The CO and XO and several
former Marine pilot for the (1962 - 1964) period never heard of
Patrick A. Curtis.
Curtis claims he
was shot down flying an F-4 on 10/31/68 in Vietnam. The Marines
did not report any aircraft loss on this date. Claims 283 1/2
combat missions, 1967-1968 over North and South Vietnam.
Independent investigators have found Curtis attended St.
Charles Borromeo School, North Hollywood, CA 1945 -
1953. He then went on to Notre Dame High School, Sherman Oaks,
CA and graduated in 1957. If he did go to USC/NROTC he would
have been a 1961 USC/NROTC alumni to be in VMF-323 during the
period he said he was there. USC/NROTC Alumni website does not
have him listed. 1961/1962 USC/NROTC alumni do not know
him. There is no indication he ever attended USC or
NROTC. Investigators have located old news stories of
him being in Europe with Raquel Welch during times he said he
was flying for the Marines.
Curtis
has been giving hero speeches at VFW and other veteran groups.
Claims retired Marine Corps Reserves Colonel. Claims Air Force
Humanitarian award, Life membership in Marine Corps League,
Navy League, Air Force Association.
2011 -
Curtis still goes around the country giving
speeches and making unproven claims regarding his "service"
to our country.

expose Patrick A. Curtis. Would you believe that
this liar, several years ago, actually purchased (on
eBay) a Purple Heart and has gone around telling
anyone who will listen that he WON it while serving

For the last few
years, Curtis has latched on to a REAL hero Max
Cleland and, has tried to gain fame by being his
"friend" and taking Cleland to many of his VFW
speaking events. Curtis is currently living in St.
George, Utah and it didn't take him long (recently
"honored" by, and gave a speech at, the St. George,
Utah Chapter of VFW. He also pulled the same VFW
scam in Marietta, Georgia. Is there any way these
organizations can be reached and warned?

================================================
Dear
POW Network,
Inquiry
related to THOMAS/TOM E. CURTIS.
I
greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy
SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your
questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not
affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government
organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a
service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL Teammates who gave their
lives in service to our nation… men who truly earned the right to the
title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in
defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs
Thank
you for contacting me on this matter. I, too, read the article posted
about Mr. Curtis and was initially unsuccessfully in reaching the Crime
and Court Reporter who authored the article. I left a message on his
answering machine along with my telephone number and asked that he
contact me, and he did so this morning (Wed 16 Dec 2009). We discussed
the matter at length and he indicated his intention to use the official
verification links I provided to him so that he could receive the US
Navy’s formal statement regarding Mr. CURTIS.
Meanwhile, I will provide you with my informed, but totally unofficial
response regarding the man’s claims.
If
the name provided in the newspaper article is spelled correctly, I do NOT
find a listing in the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the Present Day) for
anyone named THOMAS E.
CURTIS. I
have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar
pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable. In
point of fact there are only seven (7) men with the last name CURTIS
listed in the entirety of the SEAL Database, and none of them has the
first name THOMAS. Of
those seven (7) men, only one has a middle initial “E”, and that one
man would be approximately 60 years old at this point in time (having
graduated from training in 1971).
Unless
he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action
for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation)
since his claimed attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the
information you have provided, I can
state conclusively that THOMAS E. CURTIS has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL
training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL or a Navy UDT
“Frogman”.
When members
of the Naval Special Warfare community meet others who claim similar
service, but whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational
exchange of information that establishes the bona fides of each to the
other. There is no set formula for this exchange, nor for the
information that is exchanged, but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL
Naval Special Warfare members can ALWAYS spot a phony as a result of
this exchange. If Mr. CURTIS
persists in insisting that his SEAL claims are legitimate, those who are
holding him in detention would do well to ask him these questions:
(1) Since
there is no listing in the SEAL Database for the name you are currently
using, WHAT NAME DID YOU USE
during SEAL training?
(2) What was
his BUD/S Class Number?
(NB: No SEAL ever forgets the class number he shouted all day long,
every day, for 6 months)?
(3) Where
did his training take place? (NB: Training has been conducted at several
locations over the years; different portions in different places)?
(4) When
did he graduate from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training?
(i.e. a specific graduation DATE)?
(5) When
did he enter the US Navy (a specific month and year)?
(6) When
did he leave the US Navy (a specific month and year)?
(7) What
was his Naval Enlisted Classification code –NEC– or Naval Officer
Billet Code – NOBC?
There
are many other questions which could be asked to further establish the
level of veracity or untruth regarding his claims, such as asking for
the names of other members of his graduating class, but those basic
questions are absolutes. The answers
to those questions are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL will
gladly provide that substantiating information upon request. It should
quickly become apparent to the authorities that Mr. CURTIS is
fabricating his story and his claims are totally without merit.
Before
any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man
must first successfully complete the totally unclassified BUD/S Training
program and the follow-on secondary training program; the names of all
those who successfully graduate from that training program are compiled
in the SEAL database. Later participation in classified operations has
no impact on whether or not a person is listed as a graduate of the
training program. There are records of every man who has qualified for
the title of “SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret
missions, but there are NO secret SEALs… we know them all.
As you may
have noted in the Star Press news article, Mr. CURTIS’
brother offered a tell-tale comment; he reported that when questioned
about his claimed SEAL duties, the accused man had simply stated “You
don’t want to know about that stuff” (my paraphrase). He had no
details to offer because he was not a Navy SEAL, but he clearly intended
to mislead his family into thinking he was a SEAL. His hesitancy to
share any information about ‘being a SEAL’ is based upon a lack of
knowledge, rather than on any requirement for secrecy associated with
military duties. The reporter who wrote the story has promised to touch
base with me further on this particular matter, so that I am hopeful the
truth in the matter will ultimately come to the attention of the reading
public. The reporter specifically stated that it looked like the
“false SEAL claims” would be a bigger story than the murder and that
he had no intention of letting it drop, or of seeing it relegated to a
small-font ‘correction’ posted in the back pages of the newspaper.
Thank you
again for your concern in this matter, and for your assistance in
upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can be of any
further assistance to you in this matter, please contact me at your
convenience.
Respectfully,
Steve
