... If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL database of successful graduates for anyone named JERRY DENVER BAKER. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations. There are eighteen (18) entries in the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the Present Day) for men with the last name “BAKER”, and none of them has either a first name “JERRY”, or “GERALD”, or any variant thereof. Likewise none of those eighteen legitimate SEALs has a middle name “DENVER” or any variant thereof.

Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would be court documentation) since his claimed attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively that JERRY DENVER BAKER has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL

I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a service to the public, and in honor of my fallen SEAL Teammates… men who truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.

If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL Database (SEAL Teams and predecessor units from1943 to the Present Day) for anyone named
VAN KIRK BALL. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable. There are SIX (6) men with the last name BALL listed among the 17,600+ entries in the SEAL Database. None of those six men has either the first or middle names you submitted. Two of those men served during World War TWO, and the youngest, most recent man with that last name completed training over 20 years ago, would likely be over 40 years old, and is most certainly no longer participating in ‘direct action’ operations.

Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his claimed participation in SEAL training, and based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively that VAN KIRK BALL has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL, a Navy UDT “Frogman”, a member of any Naval Combat Demolition Unit (NCDU), or a member of the Naval Amphibious Scouts & Raiders (S&R).

When members of the Naval Special Warfare community meet others who claim similar service, but whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational exchange of information that establishes the bona fides of each to the other. There is no set formula for this exchange, nor for the information that is exchanged, but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL Naval Special Warfare members can ALWAYS spot an imposter as a result of this exchange. If Mr. BALL persists in insisting that his SEAL claims are legitimate, I might suggest that you ask him these questions:

-Since there is no listing in the SEAL Database for the name you are currently using, WHAT NAME DID YOU USE during SEAL training?
-What
was his Training Class Number? (No SEAL ever forgets his class number, and there are no secret classes)?
-Where did his training take place? (Training has been conducted at several locations over the years; different portions in different places)?
-When did he graduate from SEAL training? (i.e. a specific graduation DAY/DATE)?
-Which SEAL Team(s) did you serve on, and when?

The answers to those questions are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL will gladly provide that substantiating information upon request. Asking him these questions will make it very clear to him that you are not only informed on the subject of Navy SEALs, but that you are aware of the truth regarding his fraudulent claims.

Before any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man must first successfully complete the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Training program and then the follow-on secondary training program. The names of all those who successfully graduate from that training program sequence are compiled in the SEAL database. Later participation in classified operations has no impact on whether or not a person is listed as a graduate of the training program. There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs.

Note: The only Navy SEALs being “called in” are those Navy Reservists who have already served with an active duty SEAL Team who are still members of the US Navy Reserve. Navy Reservists (SEALs or otherwise) don’t go on “weekend missions”. Reservists drill one weekend a month and serve two weeks of active duty each year, and when they are called to active duty they must provide paperwork to their employers, then report for training and deployment for the duration of that call to duty – normally a period of 2 or more calendar years. They serve IN UNIFORM, maintain military fitness and dress/grooming standards, and their Reserve status can be confirmed with their employer.

Note: The Navy SEALs involved with the BIN LADEN operations were required to sign formal NON-DISCLOSURE documents which legally preclude them from discussing, mentioning, implying, or otherwise suggesting that they had any contact or involvement with that particular operation. I can absolutely guarantee that none of the Navy SEALs involved in that operation have called anyone about it, and none of the Navy SEAL outside that particular operation are going to speak about it. The word has been passed officially and unofficially that no discussions will be conducted. Any claims by civilians to the contrary are nothing more than baseless braggadocio and pitiful attempts at garnering public admiration for someone else’s accomplishments.

Once again I must stress that although I am a US Navy veteran, and a former SEAL, I am a civilian performing in an entirely unofficial role. I strongly recommend that you obtain a formal/official US NAVY statement regarding Mr. VAN KIRK BALL’s claimed SEAL credentials. To do so you may contact the PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE at the NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE COMMAND in San Diego by calling (619) 522-2823, or you may contact the FOIA COORDINATOR at the NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE COMMAND in San Diego, California, and submit a formal FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT inquiry in writing addressed to:

BANKS, ROBERT JACKSON 02/2010 Enid

Fairview, OK

Currently the Chief of Police of Fairview, and was previously an officer in Enid, OK

Claims NAVY SEAL.

Dear POW Network,

Please pass this information along in response to the inquiry regarding Mr. ROBERT BANKS.

I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL Teammates who gave their lives in service to our nation… men who truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.

If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL Database (SEAL Teams and predecessor units from1943 to the Present Day) for anyone named ROBERT BANKS. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable. In point of fact there are only THREE (3) men listed in the entirety of the SEAL Database with the last name “BANKS”; none of those men has either a first or middle name “ROBERT”.

Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his claimed attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively that ROBERT BANKS has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL, a Navy UDT “Frogman”, a member of any Naval Combat Demolition Unit (NCDU), or a member of the Naval Amphibious Scouts & Raiders (S&R).

When members of the Naval Special Warfare community meet others who claim similar service, but whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational exchange of information that establishes the bona fides of each to the other. There is no set formula for this exchange, nor for the information that is exchanged, but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL Naval Special Warfare members can ALWAYS spot a phony as a result of this exchange. If Mr. BANKS persists in insisting that his SEAL claims are legitimate, I might suggest that someone ask him these questions:

(1) Since there is no listing in the SEAL Database for the name you are currently using, WHAT NAME DID YOU USE during SEAL training?

(2) What was his BUD/S Class Number? (NB: No SEAL ever forgets the class number he shouted all day long, every day, for 6 months)?

(3) Where did his training take place? (NB: Training has been conducted at several locations over the years; different portions in different places)?

(4) When did he graduate from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training? (i.e. a specific graduation DATE)?

(5) When did he enter the US Navy (a specific month and year)?

(6) When did he leave the US Navy (a specific month and year)?

(7) What were his Primary and Secondary Naval Enlisted Classification codes –NEC– or his Naval Officer Billet Code – NOBC?

There are many other questions which could be asked to further establish the level of veracity or untruth regarding his claims, such as asking for the names of other members of his graduating class, but those basic questions are absolutes. The answers to those questions are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL will gladly provide that substantiating information upon request.

I might suggest that someone also ask Mr. BANKS to specifically identify WHICH SEAL Team(s) he served on, and when. I am in direct contact with several hundred of my SEAL Teammates whose collective experience covers virtually all time periods from the Korean War to the present; I can quickly contact those individuals to verify any specific names, events, or other claims offered by Mr. BANKS. If he feels that his name has somehow been mistakenly omitted from the SEAL records, I’d be pleased to speak with him and hear details of his service which would serve to validate his claims. The Director of the Naval Special Warfare Archives – a close personal friend and SEAL Teammate – is only a phone call away and standing by to amend the records if this is ever found to be true. However, I estimate that I’ve made the same offer to more than 5,000 SEAL imposters in the past decade, and none of them ever turned out to be a valid SEAL.

Before any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man must first successfully complete the totally unclassified BUD/S Training program and the follow-on secondary training program; the names of all those who successfully graduate from that training program are compiled in the SEAL database. Later participation in classified operations has no impact on whether or not a person is listed as a graduate of the training program. There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs… we know them all.

...I suggest that it would be in the very best interests of the community which he serves and the judiciary which oversees that law enforcement organization be informed of this situation at the earliest possible time, and that the matter be resolved by that judiciary before the potentially costly negative effects begin to appear. Please feel free to pass a copy of this letter to the Mayor and members/aldermen of the Town Council in order that they might begin to examine this situation, to make formal inquiry with the US Navy, and to resolve this matter before it has further adverse effect upon your community. Please also consider passing a copy of this letter to the County Sheriff whose jurisdiction includes the town of Fairview. It is certainly both proper and appropriate that the Sheriff whose duties and jurisdiction overlap those of the Fairview PD be aware of this matter and be prepared to contribute to the resolution of this inquiry.

Thank you again for your concern in this matter, and for your assistance in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can be of any further assistance to you or your community in this matter, please contact me at your convenience.

Chief pleads to reduced charges in faking case

By William H. McMichael - Staff writer

NORFOLK, Va. ? A veteran sailor accused of publicly embellishing his service record on the eve of his scheduled 2009 retirement pleaded guilty at a Feb. 3 summary court-martial to making a false official statement and two counts of wrongfully wearing official appurtenances.......

.....The article contains the following quotation:

Before he worked at Oceana, records show, he served with SEAL Team 2 from 2002 through 2006.”

Chief Petty Officer Aubrey Barbour is NOT LISTED in the SEAL Database. He is a “Logistics Specialist” (i.e. Supply Clerk). The photograph in Military.com news article is too poor to see all of the awards, ribbons, medals, and devices Barbour is wearing, and it is unclear if the photograph has been flipped horizontally thus displaying ribbons and insignia on the wrong side of his uniform blouse, but it does appear that he is wearing Navy/Marine Corps Parachute Wings. While it is possible that he earned those parachute wings while attached to SEAL Team TWO, it seems unlikely that a “Logistics Specialist” who had no SEAL credentials and was only serving in a support position would be sent to Basic Airborne Parachute Training at Ft. Benning.

BARBOUR, WILLIAM R 08/2011 MA

American Legion officials have launched an investigation into allegations that William R. Barbour Jr. of Auburn, a former state commander of the Legion and veterans affairs official of the Massachusetts National Guard, exaggerated his military record.

Several veterans associated with the Auburn Legion post, of which Mr. Barbour, 61, is vice commander, say Mr. Barbour, a former enlisted man in the Navy and Air Force, claimed in their presence that he had been an Air Force lieutenant colonel, and that he frequently appeared in public with a badge worn by naval officers.

“I've heard him say he was a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force,” said Lawrence J. Corbin III, treasurer of the Legion's Chester B. Tuttle Post 279 in Auburn and veteran's agent for the town of Auburn. “When you start representing yourself falsely for personal gain, that's when you start to cross the line.”......

But, he said he spent 21 Months in the U.S. Army and was wearing the Rank of SFC E-7 He said when he returned from Korea he was a Drill Sergeant at Fort Knox and was wearing the Drill Sergeant Insignia.
While the Silver Star and the Purple Heart are legitimate,  question the Legitimacy of the DSC, the rank of E-7 SFC, and Drill Sergeant.  Their is no way this man could have been awarded the decorations and rank with in a 21 month tour of duty.

Someone sent me this article about Curtis Barger. Aside from his awards being all mixed up, he's wearing a Silver Star and a DSC. He isn't listed in Home of Heroes rolls for the DSC.

The article also said that his Silver Star award was signed by Army CoS Wilbur Wilson. there has never been an ACoS named Wilbur Wilson. The Korean War would have been J. Lawton Collins or Matthew Ridgeway.

The article said he was in the 2d Inventory Division (alright that's probably the journalist's mistake) but he's wearing a 3rd Armor Div. patch.

A retired Coast Guard chief warrant officer 2 who falsely claimed to be a decorated and combat-hardened SEAL was sentenced to a year in prison Thursday and ordered to repay $11,098 in veterans’ benefits he fraudulently received.

Thomas Barnhart served a combined 21 years in the Navy and the Coast Guard. He joined the Navy in 1969, then moved to the Coast Guard 10 years later. He entered the Coast Guard claiming to be a SEAL who had completed diving school, according to court records.

He also claimed to have earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star with “V” device for valor, Purple Heart with four stars, a Combat Action Ribbon and Vietnam War-era awards, which were added to Barnhart’s DD 214. Later DD 214 alterations would add a Navy Commendation with “V” device, Presidential Unit Citation with three stars, and Vietnamese Medal of Honor First and Second Class.

“As a result of what everyone believed, the defendant was promoted to warrant officer in the [Coast Guard] ahead of others,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig “Jake” Jacobsen said in his Jan. 6 federal prosecution. Barnhart pleaded guilty that day in Roanoke, Va., to two counts of violating federal Stolen Valor legislation by falsely claiming to have been awarded medals. He also pleaded guilty to a felony embezzlement charge tied to the disability payments for post-traumatic stress disorder.

His SEAL story

Barnhart, who did serve off the coast of Vietnam in 1969 and 1970, retired Dec. 31, 1990, and applied for disability through the Veterans Affairs Department less than a year later. By that time, he was passing himself off as a member of SEAL Team 1 with five Purple Hearts and a nomination for the Medal of Honor. He claimed a scar on his left forearm was the result of a gunshot, though VA medical records from 1987 said the injury was the result of Barnhart cutting himself on a piece of metal.

The VA claim was denied, but Barnhart was successful after giving it another try — this time with the help of his congressman — in 2005. Barnhart claimed he suffered from PTSD and pointed to his altered DD 214 to support his claim. The VA awarded him a 30 percent disability rating in 2006.

The case against him began when Mary Schantag of the POW Network got wind of the bogus claims. Her investigation led to the Virginia state attorney’s office looking into the matter.

On Jan. 25, 2008, Barnhart admitted his DD 214 was altered, and that he was neither a SEAL nor a combat veteran. By that time, Barnhart had received $13,923 for his fraudulent PTSD claim.

Barnhart could have received 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the theft of government funds, and one year in prison and a $5,000 fine for claiming medals he did not earn, which is a misdemeanor.

Cops: Fake soldier scamming residents

VINCENNES, IND. (WTHI) - Authorities still sorting out the details in a strange case of men impersonating army officers.

Police in Knox County are holding Kyle Barwan of Crestwood, Illinois on charges of possession of cocaine and impersonating a public servant, ......

08/2011 - AT IT AGAIN

He has introduced himself as Kyle Barwan, and has claimed to be a Captain with the Special Forces, and has claimed to have won many medals and awards. He has also claimed to be the grandson of General Petraeus.
Another picture of him with the story that he has pulled this before http://thisainthell.us/blog/?p=20273I

  1. Anonymous Says:

    He’s at it again.
This time he’s declaring himself as general petraeus’s son.
Saying he won the silver star and is a captain in the U.S. military.
He’s scamming rides and money from people claiming he needs “epinephrine” to combat his “PTSD”
Basically he’s smoking crack and lying to honest people that he needs medication.
If he were really in the service, he’d have VA Benefits to pay for a legitimate “prescription” – he wouldn’t be having people drive him to Illinois to go to crack houses to buy crack.
This is actually what we was arrested for *last* year – manipulating some poor kid into driving out to Illinois on a “secret mission” when actually he’s just buying crack. He’s a liar, a fraud, and will manipulate anyone for anything.

I’m beyond through with this man. If you can even call him that
