 Mark - Since you have seen fit to stir the pot by sending  me another email (ref. AWWWW poor you), I thought it would   fitting to respond to an email you sent to Chuck and Mary on May 13 2008. In your email you mentioned that you lost  a brother and two cousins in Vietnam, and that your brother  was listed as MIA (see original email ...). You also  mentioned that you would like to know what happened to them  'before it's your time'. Well, maybe I can help  you with that. If you will send me their full names, I will be glad to research it for you. I have access to the complete database of all POWs and MIAs who were lost in  Vietnam.  By the way, since you are now corresponding with Chuck and  Mary, I thought you might enjoy seeing a piece that was  recently aired on national television. It is about the POW  Network and features Mary Schantag and Steve Robinson (a  real Navy SEAL). I have added it to this email as an  attachment (Fake Military Heroes -- Current htm). I am very disapointed in you, your husband and the POW Network. I have never claimed to be a Vietnam Vet and people around us can tell you that. Who ever said I told them to their face is an out and out liar and I will tell them to their face. But I saw on the site they never gave their name, but my guess is that it is Ted Schultz and I will go further by saying that he is saying this because I have been digging into his "past" life, which is very tarnished. Did I make the statement about being a "disabled vet"--Yes. My disability is not service connected, it started in 1999 and has gotten progresivly worse. Unlike Teddy boy, I don't drink, never abused my wife, etc...etc...If Teddy boy never sees me again, it will be his fortune, cause he may not survive it. Just got off the phone with  the past Secretary (six years) of the 101st Airborne Division Assoc.  He is a 20 year vet (1946-66).  I asked him about Rosters for the 101st and he told me that there were no complete rosters available - only records from St Louis which would indicate a person's association with the 101st.  I also asked him if it was possible to have made 121 jumps in three years.  He just laughed.  He said that he jumped every time he had the chance, maybe a couple of jumps per month, but that they were required to make a (one) qualifying jump every three months.  I asked him how many jumps he made, total. Things he describes don't sound too kosher for back injuries. A bone spur wrapping around nerves??? Removing a "four and a half inch" section of his back??? What did they do with the spinal cord…graft it together with bionic nerve implants after removing 4 1/2 inches of it? I really like the sentence "When they took it out, it didn’t sever the nerves, but it cut them, so that, when they took the spur out, they stretched. Does this idiot realize that "sever" and "cut" mean the same thing? Lets see…the nerves weren't severed, but cut, and then they "stretched?" Ever since I have had my back injury with nerve damage, radiculopathy, etc…I've NEVER heard of any such procedure. If he's so clean, lets see his 214 and medical treatment records, to include his surgical reports from this miracle procedure. name withheld

In that article, the reporter took what was said out of context and when asked why he put it the way he did, he said he just assumed that I was disabled in the service and apologized for the mixup. Unfortunatly it was to late to do anything about it and I have been deluged with comments about it since, even by my sisters and other family members. There are reasons you can't find out anything and it has nothing to do with "TOP SECRET OPS" or anything else like that. In 1975 I went to the Family and Probate court where I lived and had my name changed back to my dads name and got rid of the name of my moms 2nd husband, whom we didn't like and he didn't like us. What my last name was before this is a need to know, and you don't need to know. If you had my social security number (which can't be changed) you would find all you need to know.

That statement by him is a bold faced lie, I have NEVER claimed to be a Vietnam vet, not in the past, not know and will not in the future. As far as being "old enough", you nor teddy boy know how old I am, but I will say this much, I am over 55.

I lost a brother and two cousins in Vietnam, my brother was listed as MIA as well as one of my cousins, my other cousins remains came home
in the early 80's. Our family has learned to live with it as should the Prestins. My mother and aunt and uncle crossed over not knowing what happened or where they were. I am 56 and yes, I'd like to know before it's my time.

The day I was written up for driving while my license was suspended was written the morning I was going to the fine. (I ran a stop sign that I didn't see) Due to an error on the courts time limit to pay said fine, I paid a $10.00 fine for the ticket with no points on my insurance. I only had that happen once.
On that fatefull night that I was arrested for Agravated Battery in Ft. Myers, Florida, I was locked up for a couple of weeks while the State Atty's Office, the Ft. Myers P.D. and the Lee County Sheriffs Office investagated the incident. You see, a good friend of ours was staying with us while he was looking for his place, and on that particular day he was injured on the job. He decided to out drinking that night and before he left, he swallowed a handful of painkillers and went to the bar down the street from us, By the way, it was the Hogsbreath Saloon in Ft. Myers. While there, he had more to drink than he should have and snorted his fair share of cocain. When he came back he was looking for a fight and got more than he bargained for. First he tried to start with my wife and then me, you know I'm not a small person. He picked me up and threw me accross the living room and then stated he was going to beat the hell out of me, my wife and then my 2 older daughters. When he jumped over the sofa to carry out his threat, I SHOT HIM. After the investagation was over, I was released because the official finding was that I acted in self defense and all charges were dropped, and they were even kind enough to give me my shotgun back, but they also gave me a ride home.
Anyone who threatens my family (like you did) will meet the same fate, and thats a promise, not a threat. I was told that you intended to send "a couple of people to our Pow wow". Why don't you come all by yourself? Oh, thats right, I forgot, you don't have the balls to do it on your own. I've already been to 2 events in Ga. and no one came by, not even you. You know why you didn't show up, cause your a coward. You also failed marksman in the service. Was this due to your inability to hit the target, or did you miss intentionally so you wouldn't be shipped out? I think you missed on purpose.

You make claims of service that cannot be verified.  You support the lies of others exposed as frauds and claim you have seen "documentation" to back up their lies.


Giving Ted anything - has nothing to do with the POW NETWORK website. He is not a board member, a member, an advisor nor an employee.

In order to get removed from the Heroes of Villains listing, documents needed to support your military claims must be received at the POW NETWORK. Those documents MUST be verifiable (legible ACTUAL name while in the service and DoB minimally). Before a name is removed, the documents are verified with NPRC or DoD.  Documents can be emailed or snail mailed to Box 68, Skidmore, MO 64487-0068.

If those documents verify the claims and are found to be authentic, the name is removed.

If the documents cannot be authenticated, only an apology and admission of the lies will get one off the site then. And if NEW reports of NEW claims are received - the name is re-posted and never gets removed.
