================================ 40th Annual Fernley 4th of July Celebration set for this SaturdayFERNLEY--The 40th Annual Fernley 4th of July Celebration will be held this Saturday beginning with a parade right down Main Street at 10 a.m. This year's theme is "We the People," and floats and other parade entries will reflect that theme. Sheila Nicol, 4th of July Committee publicity, indicated an estimated 15,000 people are expected to attend the 4th of July festivities set for Saturday. The celebration begins with an old-fashioned parade at 10 a.m. that starts at the intersection of Highway 95A and Main Street. Thus far, over 40 parade entries have been made and features classic cars, horses, floats, bands and more. The Grand Marshall of the parade is Arthur York, a U.S. Navy Cross recipient. After the parade, the celebration continues at the Out-of-Town Park with activities for the kids, a horseshoe tournament and more....... ========================================================== Fernley
July 4 parade grand marshal bows out, refuses to verify ... The Fernley Leader, a sister paper to the Reno Gazette-Journal, published an article Wednesday about the 40th Annual Fernley Fourth of July Celebration scheduled for Saturday in Fernley. The article said the grand marshal was Arthur York, a Navy Cross winner, as originally reported by the committee. He was being recognized for winning the Navy Cross, which is second only to the Medal of Honor in the hierarchy of military honors. That caught the attention of the Legion of Valor, which tracks people who are awarded military honors. Thomas A. Richards of San Diego, a member of the group’s board of directors, sent emails to the media and contacted parade organizers , noting there was no one with that name listed as winning the Navy Cross. Parade organizers met with the man Wednesday night and determined his name was Arthur Yonkey, not York. And he declined to show documentation of his military discharge, called a DD-214, to show what he has received. “He said he didn’t want to share his DD-214 with anyone, so he’s withdrawing as grand marshal,” said Sheila Nicol, advertising and publicity chairwoman for the parade organizers. Reached by telephone, Yonkey declined to comment on which branch of service he served in or to discuss the matter. “I’ve already dealt with that,” Yonkey said. “I have no comment. I do not want to be involved with this. I don’t want my name in the paper. I don’t want anything written about this.” =============== Fernley parade marshal won't prove he won Navy Cross |

Claims Navy SEAL. 48 YRS OLD.
CONTACT THE P.O.W. NETWORK AND LAW ENFORCEMENT/ LOCAL FBI IF YOU RUN INTO THIS INDIVIDUAL ====================================================== I
greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL
Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must
make clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept.
of Defense any government organization. Additionally, although I worked
for/with the AuthentiSEAL verification organization for several years as an
Investigator (and later as a Special Investigator dealing with the media), I
am no longer affiliated with that group. When members of
the Naval Special Warfare community meet others who claim similar service,
but whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational exchange of
information that establishes the bona fides of each to the other. There is
no set formula for this exchange, nor for the
information that is exchanged, but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL Naval
Special Warfare members can ALWAYS spot a phony as a result of this
exchange. I urge you (or those who may have contact with him) to ask Mr. RANDY
M. YOUNG three questions: (1) What was his
BUD/S class number? (2) Where did his
training take place? (3) When did he
graduate from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training? The answers to
those three questions may then be compared to hard, firm, comprehensive
documentation to absolutely verify his claims. There are many other
questions which could be asked to further establish the level of veracity or
untruth regarding his claims, but those three questions are absolutes; the
answers are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL will gladly provide
that substantiating information upon request. If Mr. YOUNG
offers you any specifics which he claims answers these questions (or reasons
why he cannot answer them), I would be very interested in learning about it. It
is quite common for those making fraudulent SEAL claims – especially
claims involving service in more than one branch of the US Armed Forces –
to cite a “secret” training class, “special selection and skills which
allowed them to bypass BUD/S training”, or “secret missions” as an
explanation for the lack of military documentation to back up their stories.
They also tend to claim their military records are “sealed” and cannot
be accessed. I
would caution you that despite anything the man might have told you, there
are NO secret SEALs. Before raining;
there are NO EXCEPTIONS! The graduates of that training program are listed
in the BUD/S database – an unclassified document which is nonetheless
considered “highly sensitive”any classified operations may be undertaken, a
man must first successfully complete the totally unclassified BUD/S Training
program. No one gets to the SEAL Teams without completing this t and therefore not available for general
public circulation. The SEAL database in my possession reflects the latest
graduates from the BUD/S training program who have reported for duty to the
various SEAL Teams. There are records of every man who has qualified for the
title of “SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret
missions, but there are NO secret SEALs… we know them all. I
might also suggest that if Mr. YOUNG
persists in his insistence that he is a SEAL, and that his military status
warrants or justifies non-standard handling of any medications, you should
consider speaking with your local military officials; a copy of this letter
would certainly assist those military authorities in quickly getting to the
heart of the problem. If I can be of any further assistance to you in this
matter, please contact me at your convenience. Thank you again for your
concern in this matter, and for your assistance in upholding the honor of
the US Navy SEAL Teams. Steve

| Youngblood, Garvis | 12/2006 | . |
After a complaint called into the VA IG Hotline (1-800-488-8244), veteran
Garvis Youngblood and his wife were convicted by a jury on 122 counts of
wire and benefits fraud for illegally claiming $171,082 in compensation
from VA and $111,300 in disability payments from the Social Security
Administration. Youngblood owned and operated a farm while collecting
disability compensation for PTSD from VA, and additional unemployment
disability payments from Social Security. VA investigators found
discrepancies in Garvis's statement about witnessing the death of two
friends during service in Vietnam. A signed statement by a combat veteran
that Garvis submitted to VA was found to be a forgery. The jury found that
he falsified information about his military combat experience in Vietnam
after veterans who witnessed the incident said Garvey was not there.

A Man Without Honor
The following is the biography of Andy Yurcho, who represents
himself as a U.S. Army Major General (Retired), Distinguished
Service Cross holder, a former 75th Ranger Regiment
battalion commander, former Asst. U.S. Attorney, Vietnam and
Gulf War hero, and once a rising star in the Pentagon hierarchy who
turned down command of the Army's elite 82nd Airborne
Division.
Records obtained from the Military Records Center in St. Louis show that a soldier with the same name and identifying information was a SP4 in the Signal Corps from 1960 until 1962 with no other service noted.
Because of and thanks to the diligent efforts of a real
Ranger, and several senior officer and former commanders of various
U.S. Army Ranger units, including a former commander of the 75th
Ranger Regiment, the Ranger Association, and available public
records, DefenseWatch Magazine is certain Yurcho is a
fraud, a liar, and a man who dishonored his country, the thousands
of Rangers who have honorably served our nation, and brave soldiers
everywhere who proudly serve today, in the past, and in the future.....
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Mar. 26, 2006 .... Then there's Andrew J. Yurcho, a former Army specialist who once lived in Las Vegas and Reno and claims to have been a two-star, Army major general. Yurcho came to light following a December article published in DefenseWatch magazine. A resume for Yurcho from an Army Ranger association in Columbus, Ga., that was published in December by the magazine contains a lengthy list of accomplishments by the "retired major general." He is said to have received the Distinguished Service Cross for actions in the 1968 Tet offensive in Vietnam. Then a captain, he went on to command Ranger battalions, the 75th Ranger Regiment and as recently as 2003 was offered command of the 82nd Airborne Division, the resume states. It says he practiced law in Reno and is a "registered lobbyist in the Nevada Legislature 1993 until present." DefenseWatch, states that records obtained from the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, "show that a soldier with the same name and identifying information was a SP4 (specialist fourth class) in the Signal Corps from 1960 to 1962 with no other service noted." Yurcho also is not listed as a registered lobbyist in Nevada, based on a records search last month. Yurcho, believed to be living in Southern California, could not be reached for comment.... • • • =======================================

... member who has joined the ranks of the GRAMP'S Sqdn. He is Major General Andrew J. Yurcho USA (Ret). Welcome aboard sir. His sponsor is Dr. Dick Fields. Kudo's to you Dick. Now, for the rest of us, let's keep the ball rolling and start signing up new members in 2009. Keep the blue side up."..... |
This clown also claims to be an attorney and to have "periodically practiced law in California between deployments," except our state bar assn has no record of any Yurcho ever having been licensed to practice law in California. I wonder if there is anything in his bio other than his name that isn't a lie. I like how he claims he went to jump school in 1965 when he was in ROTC...NOT. The army did not allow ROTC Cadets to go to jump school until 1970. I know because a friend of mine was the first ROTC cadet ever allowed to go. Thanks, M. |
