Lastly, it would seem that Uzomba had a strange career path for an Infantry LT, as according to his OER he'd never led a TO & E Rifle or Weapons Platoon prior to becoming a 1LT and CO XO. Perhaps there was a reason he was not allowed to lead troops? endquote |

This Marine has a website and was claiming a Navy Cross, Silver Star,
Bronzs Star w/V, 4 Purple hearts, Navy Commendation Medal w/V, etc, etc.
Apparently, he was called out on the Navy Cross and Purple Hearts
and he removed them from his website.
He did earn the Bronze Star w/V but was upgraded to a Silver Star, and he
does rate 1 Purple Heart. He rates no Navy Commendation Medal nor does he
rate 3 stars on his Viet Nam Service Medal, only 2.
After inquiries to Hdqts Marine Corps, they stated the Bronze Star should
have been rescinded ,as it was for the same action, when upgraded to a
Silver Star.
Attached is the letter received from Hdqts. They are rescinding the Bronze
Star and there is no mention of a Navy Comm and only 2 stars on his VN
Service Medal. Apparently they also rescinded the CAR.
He is currently displaying 9 Ribbons on his website, but is only entitled
to 7.
Attached are the following.
Pages 1,2,3 Original reply from St Louis
Page 4 current
display from website
Pages 5, 6 ,7 8 Latest reply from HdQts

| Vick, General Charles Gordon | 03/2005
12/2007 |
.. | Claims WWII POW/Japan.
Claims Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Medal, Distinguished Flying
Cross and Purple Heart were.
2007 - Stated he went from Brigadier General in the Marines, to a Private and then to an Admiral in the Navy Reserves. He did mention the Medal of Honor and being a POW in Japan. |
U.S. Army Center for Military History could find no listing for a Charles Vick serving in any unit (including Army Air Corps) in World War II. Mr. Vick did run for president of the United States as the Hebrew Christian Evangelical party candidate in 2000 and 2004. ============== I
can verify without a doubt that no one with the surname Vick has ever been
awarded the Medal of Honor. The surname Vick also does not appear in my
extensive Database of recipients of the DSC. While I understand that my
DSC database is not as complete as my MOH database, I estimate it to be
99.9% complete and accurate, and am quite certain that this individual has
NOT received either above listed award. Sincerely, C.

A Police Officer responded to a call and came across a very belligerent
man claiming that he had served in some very heavy fighting in Iraq and
demanded respect. Actually, in early 2003 when he were called to
active service to deploy, he made a claim of "wrist injury" and
refused to hold a rifle. The general feeling in the unit was that he was a
coward. The Navy Corpsmen labeled him a "malingerer".
He went UA and is pending a discharge. His MOS was 5711-NBC.
Clearly he was critical then.
