I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy
SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your
questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not
affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government
organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a
service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL Teammates who gave their
lives in service to our nation… men who truly earned the right to the
title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in
defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs. If
the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT
find a listing in the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the Present Day) for
anyone named CLARK
JOSEPH SALINAS.
I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with
similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be applicable.
Unless
he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action
for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation)
since his claimed attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the
information you have provided, I can
state conclusively that CLARK JOSEPH SALINAS has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL

11/2006 - .... One strange thing was that I found a guy on your site that I went to basic training, AIT, and started jump school with. He quit soon after training began. His name is George Sandel. It seems the guy just never quit bragging or coming up with lies. His claim to fame during basic and infantry training was that his dad was the 5th SFG(A) commander. He was even introduced at our AIT graduation but never stood up to receive his recognition. Go Figure!!
George quit jump school in his 1st or 2nd week and never got to jump
week. .....
Well thanks again for the great site and keep up the good work.

| Saunders, Arthur | 02/2009 | Ohio | http://www.the-daily-record.com/news/article/4526665
Airman recounts a time when blacks fought to become part of military
Arthur Saunders (left), a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen, signs an autograph at Wayne College for 7-year-old Tony Weathers, a student at Marlington Elementary School in Alliance. Tony’s parents let him out of school for the day so he could hear Saunders’ speech, believing it would have a future impact on their child’s life. By PAUL LOCHER Staff Writer ORRVILLE -- The University of Akron Wayne College was packed to capacity to see a real American hero: Arthur Saunders. Arthur Saunders? At age 87, Saunders is one of the last of the Tuskegee Airmen, an all African-American pursuit squadron based in Tuskegee, Ala., whose members became the heroes of the skies over Germany during World War II -- despite the best efforts of the U.S. military to prevent that from happening. Wednesday's program, titled "The Tuskegee Airmen: One of the Most Remarkable Groups of Individuals in American History," was part of the college's Black History Month activities. It was presented by Roger Cram, director of special projects and community relations for Hiram College. Cram teaches a course that was developed from his research into the ideals and problem-solving abilities of the 1940s Tuskegee Airmen. Cram characterized the story of the Tuskegee Airmen as "remarkable and inspiring; but it's also kind of sad." Before 1940, African-Americans were barred from flying for the U.S. military. However, civil rights organizations and the black press exerted pressure that resulted in the formation of a black pursuit squadron. The Tuskegee program became the focus of African-American aviation during World War II and paved the way for full integration of the U.S. military. Saunders served as an armaments engineer on a B-29 and became the first licensed black architect in Ohio. He said the Airmen "saw value in a country that saw no value in them." "They had to fight for the right to fight, and that's what makes them so remarkable," Saunders said. "They had to fight for the right to protect this country, and that has never happened before." Cram noted the first push to allow blacks to fly planes came during the third term of President Franklin Roosevelt when his wife, Eleanor, secretly traveled to Tuskegee, Ala., to take a flight with a self-taught black pilot named Alfred Anderson in a Piper Cub. As a result of that, the Tuskegee Flying School eventually was approved for black pilots. Cram said the Tuskegee Airmen were successful because "they thought of an obstacle as a wonderful opportunity for growth. They sought out obstacles." After several months of practicing on small targets in rural Alabama, Cram said, "They were awesome. They were ready to be unleashed." In their first engagement against 20 German aircraft, the Airmen shot down 10 Nazi planes and sustained no losses. Moved to a secret air base in Ramitelli, Italy, the Airmen while on patrol encountered a German destroyer and did the near-impossible feat of sinking it with only a machine gun by targeting the powder magazine below decks. After that the Tuskegee Airmen began escorting bombers over Germany, painting the tails of their P-40 War Hawks red so that they could be identified. During the course of a year, Cram said, the Airmen escorted 15,583 bombers on 200 missions with no losses. Nevertheless, Cram noted, the Airmen were barred from officers clubs, and when 101 of the airmen tried to enter a club to purchase a soda, the entire unit was arrested, charged with failure to obey a commanding officer and confined for 30 days under heavy armed guard. He said the unit was finally pardoned in 1995 by President Bill Clinton. He said unlike other units, the Tuskegee Airmen were never relieved and were never allowed to go home. Those who qualified for medals didn't receive them for 50 years or more. Saunders, a Yale graduate, said his step-father had been one of the famous "Buffalo Soldiers" on the plains, protecting white settlers traveling west in wagon trains. He said he believes books on American history are skewed and often fail to convey a true picture of what happened. "It is my hope history books will start to turn around and say what really happened," said Saunders before he was given a standing ovation. Reporter Paul Locher can be reached at 330-682-2055, or e-mail at plocher@the-daily-record.com. |
According to Ted Johnson's database, Arthur Saunders had SO 176, and
arrived in Lockbourne on 10 Aug 1947...he probably has never set
foot in Tuskegee!!! He was NOT a pilot, navigator or bombardier!!!

I greatly
appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams,
and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make
clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of
Defense or any other government organization. My efforts to expose SEAL
imposters are performed as a service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL
Teammates who gave their lives in service to our nation… men who truly
earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able
to stand forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their
TEAMs. I
must say that I am saddened to hear that you have discovered this duplicity
in your fiancé; I wish I had better news for you, but unfortunately I do
not. If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT
find a listing in the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the Present Day) for
anyone named LANCE ERIC
SCHULER. I
have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar
pronunciations without finding any that might be applicable. There is only
one (1) man with the last name “SCHULER”
listed in the SEAL Database; that man completed his training in 1952 – some
eight (8) years before LANCE ERIC SCHULER was born. Unless
he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for
which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his
claimed attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the information you
have provided, I can state conclusively
that LANCE ERIC SCHULER has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not
now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL or a Navy UDT “Frogman”. When members of
the Naval Special Warfare community meet others who claim similar service,
but whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational exchange of
information that establishes the bona fides of each to the other. There is
no set formula for this exchange, nor for the information that is exchanged,
but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL Naval Special Warfare members can
ALWAYS spot a phony as a result of this exchange. You indicate that you have
a text of some sort in which Mr. SCHULER admits
to making false SEAL claims. I must presume that you have sent this inquiry
because Mr. SCHULER is once
more offering those false SEAL claims despite his earlier recantations. If
you wish to make him very aware of the fact that you know the truth of the
matter, I might suggest that you to ask Mr. SCHULER
these questions: (1) Since there
is no listing in the SEAL Database for the name you are currently using, WHAT
NAME DID YOU USE during SEAL training? (2) What was his
BUD/S Class Number? (NB: No
SEAL ever forgets the class number he shouted all day long, every day, for 6
months) (3) Where
did his training take place? (NB: Training has been conducted at several
locations over the years; different portions in different places) (4) When
did he graduate from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training?
(i.e. a specific graduation DATE) There
are many other questions which could be asked to further establish the level
of veracity or untruth regarding his claims, such as asking for the names of
other members of his graduating class, but those basic questions are
absolutes. The answers to those questions
are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL will gladly provide that
substantiating information upon request. If Mr. SCHULER
has returned to his previously offered story line about being a SEAL, he will
very likely insist that the information is either classified or sensitive
and cannot be provided. This response, of course, is pure hockum. I might suggest
that you also ask Mr. SCHULER to
specifically identify WHICH SEAL Team(s) he served on, and when. I am in
direct contact with several hundred of my SEAL Teammates whose collective
experience covers virtually all time periods from the Korean War to the
present; I can quickly contact those individuals to verify any specific
names, events, or other claims offered by Mr. SCHULER.
If he feels that his name has somehow been mistakenly omitted from the SEAL
records, I’d be pleased to speak with him and hear details of his service
which would serve to validate his claims. The Director of the Naval Special
Warfare Archives – a close personal friend and SEAL Teammate – is only a
phone call away and standing by to amend the records if this is ever found
to be true. However, I estimate that I’ve made the same offer to more than
5,000 SEAL imposters in the last eight years, and none of them ever turned
out to be a valid SEAL. No
one gets to the SEAL Teams without first completing BUD/S Training. There
are records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”;
there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO
secret SEALs… we know them all. Thank you again
for your concern in this matter, and for your assistance in upholding the
honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. Depending on the specifics of his actions
and claims, Mr. SCHULER may
have crossed the line from braggadocio and be prosecutable under the STOLEN
VALOR ACT of 2005. As noted in my opening paragraph, I am a private
individual and am in no way affiliated with the US Department of Defense or
the US government. Despite any reports you may make/send to me regarding Mr.
SCHULER’s false SEAL claims,
any such information which I might pass along to the federal authorities
(FBI, DCIS) in this matter would be classified as “hearsay” and
therefore inadmissible in a court of law. The responsibility for reporting
the individual named in your inquiry to the federal authorities as a
military imposter rests with you and with anyone else who may have
personally heard or received these claims from the individual himself.
Whether or not you decide to report him to the federal authorities is
entirely up to you, but at least you now know the truth regarding his bogus
claims. I’m certain
that whatever you decide to do, you will need several witnesses who can
attest to the accuracy of your report regarding Mr. SCHULER’s
conduct and his claims of being a SEAL. If I can be of any further
assistance to you in this matter, please contact me at your convenience. Respectfully, Steve Robinson

Military records dispute hero status
By Lynne Powell | Cherokee County Bureau
lynne.powell
GAFFNEY -- A Gaffney man who told
reporters he was a Marine heroically rescued from a Cambodian POW camp
in 1970 in fact served only 10 months in the Navy and was
court-martialed, according to military records obtained by the
Herald-Journal.
The copies of military records for 57-year-old Warren
Brent Messer show that he enlisted in the Navy in October 1967 and
received a special court martial for an unauthorized absence in August
1968. He was discharged ?under honorable conditions? -- which is
different from an honorable discharge -- into the Naval Reserve later
that month.
Messer said in an interview with the Daily Courier of
Forest City, N.C., and two television stations that he was prisoner of
war in Cambodia, barely hanging on to life at 80 pounds with broken
feet and fingers before Ronnie Scroggs rescued him.
Scroggs, a North Carolina resident, claimed to be an Air
Force medic who rescued 18 POWs in the 10 months he was in Vietnam....

Gentlemen,
Normally I really wouldn't bother with someone claiming former service when it is false but ......
Wesley Sexton has never been in the military much less a Ranger.

no I did not, I served in the army from summer 92 when I was recruited, to basic in September served in the infantry and was recommended for rip, then started in late 92. I was in the rangers for three months (rip, school) and did not finish school, so I hereby apologize for insinuating otherwise. Please forgive me.
I initially thought that he just had really bad fashion judgment or was trying to make some kind of political statement, but then he started talking loudly to anyone around him who would listen about how he had just gotten back from "the shit" in Iraq. Before we had even pushed back from the gate everyone within about 3 or 4 rows, as well as the flight attendants, were fairly familiar with this guy's service record, which apparently included quite a few highly classified "black ops" in which he took part as an airborne qualified special forces soldier, sniper and all-around badass. He managed to finagle quite a few beers out of the flight attendants, and the stories got better as the flight progressed.
Claims:
Claims to have a 501 3c organization http://www.shadowwolf.org/memorialtable.html. Has set up with veterans of Rolling Thunder, uses the Maupin name, "accepts" donations for the Memorial Table service.
A few years back he did a 'Fund Raiser' for a Marine KIA in Iraq who left a baby at home. Shadow Wolf started a fundraiser for this Marine's orphaned baby by "selling" copies of his unit patch. Found out through the Marine's widow that she nor her baby EVER received a penny from Shadow Wolf and his Memorial.
NOT A NATIVE AMERICAN.

Obituary
January 26, 2006
We regret to announce that George Sharpe Jr. passed away on Jan 23,
2006 in Tacoma, WA. He was a longtime resident of the
Eatonville area and a member of The American Legion Post 148.
George served in Korea
and was a prisoner of war twice. He was captured by the North
Koreans, escaped, and several days later while attempting to escape
and evade to the American lines was recaptured by the Chinese.
A celebration of George's life
will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2006 in the
Mountain View Valley Chapel, with graveside services at 1:30 p.m. at
Alder Cemetery, with military honors.
States "He grew up in San Diego, the son of a Navy man. He served as a Green Beret demolitions expert in the Army Special Forces and narrowly missed duty in Vietnam. He admits his three-year stint in the Army was partly due to his traditional upbringing and partly due to pressure he felt to be macho."
..... Betty Foster, who accepted an award in honor of her father, Navy Seal Jack Shoemaker, said she is proud of her father and all that he did for the country.
"I'm not just proud because of his medals and awards," said Foster. "I'm proud for the challenges he overcame and the risks he took."
Shoemaker, who was awarded the Purple Heart for his participation in World War II, enlisted in the Navy at 17.
"He enlisted right after the bombing of Pearl Harbor," said Foster. "My grandparents had to sign the papers, because he was so young."
Shoemaker was also given the Bronze Star and Navy Cross for his service......

He is NOT listed in the database covering training graduates from the end of
WWII to the present day. SR

I don't show a Jack Shoemaker as having received the Navy Cross. If he joined the Navy right after Pearl Harbor, and if he was 17 at the time, and if he remained on active duty until the SEALS were formed in 1962, he would have been about 38 at the time. If he got the Navy Cross as a SEAL, it would have to have been in Vietnam, and there is no record to support that. I suppose it's possible he could have received a Navy Cross for WW II service (even though I have no record of that being the case), I am bothered by the claim that he was a SEAL and got the Navy Cross. This does not have the ring of authenticity. N

Name matches man with prison record.
Q. And in 1972 you were in prison, weren't you?
A. Yes, sir.
Q. And you were in prison in 1972 for armed robbery?
A. Yes, sir.
Q. And you were convicted in 1971, weren't you?
"Hello David...My name is Dusty..."
These
words have touched the hearts of many veterans over the years. In
particular, they have brought consolation and peace to many women veterans,
especially all the "Dustys" who took care of the countless "Davids"
during the Vietnam conflict. The poem was so moving, in fact, that it was
read by then Vice-President Al Gore at the dedication of the Vietnam Women s
Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., November 11, 1993.
Recently, I learned the painful truth that the author who has called herself
Dana Shuster is neither a nurse, nor a Vietnam Veteran, as she has publicly
claimed for so many years. I share in the sense of betrayal and hurt of the
many women veterans who have called her sister.
That said, on behalf of the Vietnam Women's Memorial Foundation Board, I
encourage a compassionate response. I hope for the author's own personal
healing, as perhaps deep down, she had somehow hoped for ours. Read
Laura Palmer's letter.
The Foundation has no further information and will not respond to queries or
comments.

To:
Diane Evans, President of the Vietnam Women's Memorial Foundation:
Several months ago I was asked a question I couldn't answer. Did I know for
a fact that Dana Shuster, the nurse portrayed in my book, Shrapnel in the
Heart, as "Dusty," had ever, in fact, served in
Vietnam?
The question was a shocking one to me. "Dusty" is a woman I'd
known for twenty years and considered as a friend. I never doubted that she
was a nurse in Vietnam. But could I prove it? I could not.
The seriousness of the question deserved an answer. I wrote to Dana Shuster,
the woman known as "Dusty," and asked her if she could corroborate
her service for me in specific ways. She could not. I learned that she
was never in the military and never a nurse.
She was subsequently hospitalized for psychiatric care and continues to
undergo therapeutic treatment and support.
It is with profound sadness that I convey this information but it is
important that the truth be known.

Has NO Navy Cross.
Wrote a journal which he has distributed that told a story of his war experiences and that he was seriously wounded while rescuing POW’s held by North Korea. He gave himself the rank of Sgt. and what was so ironic that he was a “Prisoner Chaser”, picking up AWOL Marine and Navy personnel.

When the Naval Special Warfare Command Public Affairs Office WAS CONTACTED he was told that there were no MOH pending for living SEALs (contrary to the claims of the "Command Master Chief"), and they had no knowledge of any SEAL top NCO appearing on a radio show. They were absolutely certain that a real "top NCO" would have coordinated such an appearance with the PAO.

You’re just going to have to trust Chuck Slaght on this one.
The chairman/spiritual leader of Southwest Florida Aquatics sees a day where a true state-of-the-art swimming facility with all the trimmings makes Naples one of the premier international event hosts in the world.
We’re talking a 55-meter pool. A couple of one-meter diving boards and a couple of three-meter diving boards. A teaching pool. Seating capacity for a couple of thousands of fans.
We’re talking programs. An elite junior program. An elite masters swim program, plus programs for swimmers of all levels in between. Plus water polo, diving and synchronized swimming. There’s even a chance it would feature underwater hockey, whatever the heck that is.
Sounds impossible, right? Man, you don’t know Chuck. The word doesn’t exist in his dictionary.
His resume is so long, it should come in chapters. A Navy Seal (sorry, he can’t really talk about that). A founding member of USA Swimming. A nationally ranked triathlete. A coach for 30 years who has helped dozens of swimmers break national and world age-group records.
The proof lies in the lives of athletes like Bob MacDonald and Karl Wiedamann. MacDonald has been setting age-group records for decades, but it wasn’t until he met Slaght that the old dog started learning new tricks.
MacDonald is 77 and beating men 25 years his junior. He’s re-written so many age-group marks they don’t bother writing them down in pen. Why waste the Wite-Out? He’s only going to do it again next time out.
Of course, MacDonald might just be borrowing the records until the Wiedamann starts mowing them down.
“I feel like I was wasting my time until I met Chuck,” Weidemann said.
When Slaght’s your coach, wasting time is against the rules. His students feed off his example. Consider this: Slaght donates 30-40 hours a week of his time to SWFA, which operates out of the Golden Gate Aquatic Center.
He’s there in the morning with the people who want to get their sets in before heading off to work. He’s there in the middle of the afternoon when MacDonald comes in for his two-hour work. He’s there in the evening when the die-hards return for the back-end of their two-a-days and the high-school kids show up.
Watching Slaght run a work-out is like seeing “Rain Man” at work. He can monitor 20 lanes crammed with 40 swimmers and tell where each one is at in their set. He’s not a cattle call coach, you know, the ones that send everybody into the pool, set their watch then work on their tan.
There are goals. Three-month goals. Six-month goals. Five-year goals. Are you 10 and want to be an Olympian? Well the 2016 games are right around the corner. Are you 36 and want to get from here to the other end of the pool and back without WaterWings? He’ll get you there.
But you’re thinking, what does all of this have to do with the swimming complex of his dreams? This is Naples after all. We don’t do big here.
Maybe we should. He sees Southwest Florida as a vein of gold waiting to be tapped. Great weather. Great kids. Great community support.
All you need is a little vision. Don’t worry, he’ll get you started. You can catch up. He’ll teach you how. It’s what he does.

To Whom It May

I greatly appreciate
your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search
for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make clear that I am a
private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other
government organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a
service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL Teammates who gave their lives
in service to our nation men who truly earned the right to the title
“US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to stand forward in defense of
their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.

No
one gets to the SEAL Teams without first completing BUD/S Training. There are
records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have
been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs

Firefighter Steve Slawinski, 35, is charged with forgery and theft, the Lemont Fire Protection District said in a news release Friday. The charges stem from allegations that Slawinski accepted compensation while he was on a "purported military leave."
NBC5's Amy Jacobson reported that Slawinski's colleagues kept him in their thoughts and prayers, believing that he was working with the Navy on an intelligence mission.
"We're devastated," Lemont Fire Chief Carl Churulo. "The whole fire district is devastated, the men and women of this district, our board and myself as chief."
Officials are trying to determine the extent of their losses.
"We will make every effort to see that the Fire District is made whole for any cost attributable to the alleged misrepresentation," the fire protection district's statement said.
Slawinski has been placed on inactive status pending an investigation. Slawinski was expected in bond court on Saturday.
Jacobson reported that authorities said Slawinski filled out service papers and submitted fraudulent government forms. Slawinski's salary and benefits cost Lemont approximately $10,000.
There was no phone listing available for a Steve Slawinski in Lemont, and a telephone number in nearby Romeoville was unlisted.
Jacobson reported that Slawinski has been a Lemont firefighter and a part-time Lemont police officer for four years, and he was given a commendation for saving a man's life.
"I'm surprised, because he seemed like a very straight-up guy," said one man.
Earlier this week, a firefighter from nearby Orland Park was charged with collecting more than $190,000 in salary and benefits from that community's fire department during leaves of absence he falsely claimed were for military duty.
Lawrence Masa was charged with felony theft and official misconduct. He's accused of falsifying documents showing that he was being deployed for active service in the U.S. Army in order to take five leaves of absence.
Slawinski was allegedly working for private firms in the Middle East with Masa, Jacoboson reported. The two allegedly met while working at the Westmont Fire Department.
"There were just a lot of red flags that went up over the last week or so since he's been home," Churulo said. "We met with the Orland police yesterday, and this is what has come out of it."
One firefighter told Jacobson that Slawinski was excited about his deployment with the Navy last April. Slawinski's colleagues said they were so concerned that they put up a military flag in front of the Lemont Fire Department in his honor, but that has since been taken down.
