THOSE CLAIMING MEDAL OF HONOR
NOTE: In 1996 HLI Lordship
Industries (at the time, the OFFICIAL USG contractor for the Medal of
Honor) admitted selling THREE HUNDRED unauthorized medals for $75.00
each from 1991-1994. They were fined $80,000. NOT ALL of those medals
have been recovered. Offenders in possession of an
unauthorized medal can be arrested, fined (up to $10,000) and jailed
(up to a year). It is the only military medal that CANNOT be bought,
sold, bartered, traded, collected, auctioned, exchanged.... EVERY
Medal of Honor is awarded by act of Congress. Less than 150 REAL Medal
of Honor recipients are alive today.

Roland Haas, the author of a recently published book entitled “Enter
the Past Tense: My Secret Life as a CIA Assassin.
“My story has been vetted by a number of official sources!
I have now been invited by the Department of the Navy to present an
address about my story from the deck of the USS Brady [sic],…”.
The complete text of Mr. Haas’ message can be read at: http://groups.google.com/group/alt.war.vietnam/msg/6c50e1350e960e9c
)
If you check appropriate Navy records, you will discover that he was
expelled from the Navy ROTC program at Purdue University in the early
1970s as a consequence of a criminal act.
If his story about his alleged career as a CIA “hitman” were true,
which it certainly is not, Mr. Haas would be, by his own admission,
guilty of multiple felonies - violation of Executive Order 12333 and
Congressional proscriptions against assassination, fraud, perjury (in
his employment applications, in his background biographic forms required
for seeking security clearances, etc), multiple tax violations (says he
never declared his alleged "compensation" from the CIA), and
God knows what else.
Mr. Haas is a GS-14 Department of the Army civilian employee at the U.S.
Army Reserve Command (USARC) at Atlanta, GA. He openly calls his
employment with the USARC a "cover assignment."
=============================
Mr. Haas,
One does not need detailed knowledge of
how our intelligence services operate to recognize that your story is
nonsense.
Any reasonably intelligent, moderately
well-informed person who is willing to remove his or her ideological
blinders and examine your story with a little common sense and logic
should be able to recognize it as the fiction that it is.
In the 2 Sep 07 note cited above you
wrote: "The Agency has since (within the last 4 weeks) come
out and admitted that it did indeed use targeted killings. This
was also reported in the Washington Post. The Agency is releasing this
info they call 'the family jewels.'"
Mr. Haas, what is the date and
headline of the Washington Post article you refer to? A Google
search of the Internet and a search of the Washington Post on-line
archive using two combinations of keywords "assassin CIA"
(without quotes), and "targeted killing" CIA (with quotes),
yielded only four items published in the six weeks before you wrote the
above sentence:
·
A transcript of an interview with NY Times correspondent Tim
Weiner about his book "Legacy of Ashes: The History of the
CIA", which is critical of the CIA;
· This blurb about a movie: "'Hitman,'
adapted from the hit video game "Hitman: Codename 47," stars
Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47, a genetically engineered assassin who
works for a shadowy agency called, of all things, the Agency."
· This blurb about the book "The
Bourne Ultimatum" (Bantam, $7.99), by Robert Ludlum: "A master
assassin renews his struggle against an international terrorist."
· This blurb about a movie based on
Ludlum's book: ""The Bourne Ultimatum." Hyperkinetic
thriller -- gloriously dizzying and paranoid -- is a stunning finale to
the Bourne trilogy ("The Bourne Identity," 2002; "The
Bourne Supremacy," 2004, PG-13s), updating Robert Ludlum's Cold War
novels to the terror-tainted present; Matt Damon, as amnesiac CIA
assassin Jason Bourne, gets to the source of his identity and why most
(but not all) CIA higher-ups want him dead. Violence approaches bloody R
levels in bone-crushing fights, lethal gunplay; foot chases, car chases
are breathlessly shot and edited and could induce motion sickness; mild
profanity. High schoolers."
A Google search on the keywords
"CIA's family jewels" yielded a keyword-searchable 702-page
collection of CIA documents made public in June 2007, that has been
described as "the family jewels" and appears to be the
"jewels" you referred to. If so, I believe you have
misrepresented the contents of the "family jewels" collection.
The collection describes shopworn
allegations by various journalists and wannabes that the CIA uses
political assassination as a weapon and that Operation Phoenix during
the Vietnam war was a CIA-run program of political assassinations.
Far from the CIA admitting, as you wrote,
"that it did indeed use targeted killings," in 1972, the then
Executive Director of the CIA, William E. Colby, with concurrence of the
then Director of CIA, Richard Helms, wrote that he could say under oath
that:
"a.
CIA does not and has not used political assassination as a weapon.
"b. Operation Phoenix was run not by the CIA but by the
Government of Vietnam, with the support of the CORDS element of the U.
S. Military Assistance Command in coordination with several U. S.
agencies including CIA.
"c. Operation Phoenix in not and was not a program of
assassination."
Mr. Haas, I have been unable to
find any authoritative reference that, by any stretch of imagination,
could be accurately characterized as a report by the Washington Post--or
any other publication--that the CIA "admitted that it did indeed
use targeted killings."
In the same 2 Sep 07 note, you wrote:
"My story has been vetted by a number of official
sources!"
Mr. Haas, specifically what
"official sources"?
Also on 2 Sep 07, you wrote: "I
have now been invited by the Department of the Navy to present an
address about my story from the deck of the USS Brady, a cold war era
destroyer."
Mr. Haas, specifically which
office of the Department of the Navy extended the alleged invitation?
Specifically, when and where will you
present your story? On the deck of which USS Brady?
The National Association of Destroyer
Veterans has posted on its website what appears to be comprehensive
lists of every US Navy destroyer ever commissioned. See the links
at
http://www.destroyers.org/shipinfocenter/destroyer-info-ctr.htm.
I did not find any vessel named USS Brady on any of these lists.
Or, is it possible that you have been
invited to present you story on the deck of the starship U.S.S. Brady,
NCC-71500? See description and photos at http://members.aol.com/Griffworks/Brady.html.
On 2 Sep 07, you wrote: "I am
also slated to speak at a number of other high military venues,
something that would not be happening if my story were a lie."
Mr. Haas, specifically what
"high level military venues" are you slated to speak at?
Also, dates and locations, please?
On 2 Sep 07, you wrote: "Finally,
I have made it clear that I stand ready to testify before both the
Senate and House Select Committees on Intelligence."
Mr. Haas, you might wish to be
careful what you wish for. Those fellows customarily place
witnesses under oath.
On 2 Sep 07, you wrote: "Both
the Department of the Army and my command are aware of my book, have
read it, and a number of general officers and current and/or retired CIA
personnel have gone out of their way to get autographed copies."
Mr. Haas, do you mean to imply
that the Department of the Army has endorsed the content of your book?
If so, specifically, what reviewing
authority signed the memorandum of record stating that "This
manuscript has been cleared for open publication and unrestricted
distribution."?
Also, since you seem to imply that
"a number of the general officers and current and/or retired CIA
personnel" vouch for your story, please name them. Every
retired CIA officer I know is convinced that your story is false and
that you are a pathetic armchair wannabe.
Additionally, they are disgusted that you have smeared the reputations
of the thousands of authentic members of the clandestine services who
have dedicated their lives and talents in service to our nation during
the 30 years you claim to have worked for the CIA.
On 2 Sep 07, referring to the alleged
"number of the general officers and current and/or retired CIA
personnel" you wrote: "I believe that their
knowledge of me and current operations is a bit more credible than yours
would be, considering you base your 'judgments' on 'one of his friends'.
Mr. Haas, I don't know the person
to whom you addressed the foregoing comments, but I have more than forty
years experience in various intelligence assignments and disciplines at
home and abroad.
Based on my experience, I believe you are
a fraud. However, I will happily reconsider my opinion if you can
provide verifiably accurate answers to the questions I posed above.

In this case, uniform doesn't make the man
A defendant in court claims he's an Air Force colonel, but
officials disagree
Marlon A. Walker, Staff Writer
A Virginia man could face federal charges of impersonating
military personnel, thanks to a state Highway Patrol trooper who
spotted inconsistencies with the man's uniform.
The man, Freddie Lee Hall of Chesapeake, Va., had come to the
Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield on Monday for charges
in connection with an accident he was involved in over the
summer. He was wearing what appeared to be the uniform of a
military officer, said Trooper D.W. Green.
After the wreck, the trooper who responded had told Green,
Hall said he was a colonel in the Air Force, that he was on
leave from Iraq and had flown missions while overseas. When
Green saw Hall Monday, he immediately knew the man was an
impostor.
"The rank he was wearing would not be used by any member
of the armed forces," Green said. "The uniform did not
have a nametag or wings on his uniform [signifying his flight
experience]. He had no ribbons or medals. Also he was indoors,
and he was wearing a hat.
"The only time you wear that [inside] is when you're
reporting for pay."
Green, who has 27 years of military experience as a member of
the National Guard, contacted Seymour Johnson Air Force Base,
which sent three officials to the courthouse to check out Hall.
By the time they arrived, Green said, Hall had partially
changed out of the uniform and was wearing a gray sweatshirt.
When he went before a judge on the charges related to the
accident, he asked for a continuance. When he did so, he was
asked to confirm that he was a member of the military, including
his rank, and that he was on leave from Iraq. He said yes to
all.
Air Force officials interviewed Hall, but Green said they
were unable to charge Hall with impersonating an officer under
the Stolen Valor Act because some of the criteria were not
applicable.
Hall was charged by Smithfield police with misdemeanor
possession of stolen property. When the Air Force officials went
to Hall's car to see the uniform, Green said, they learned that
both his license plate and the car he was driving had been
reported stolen.
He was taken to the Johnston County jail but made bail
Friday, jail records show.
Green said FBI officials are now looking into possible
federal impersonation charges against Hall.

Corps questions rapper on alleged Marine past
By Kimberly Johnson - Staff writer
Posted : Wednesday Apr 25, 2007 5:34:36 EDT
Budding Dallas-based hip-hop artist and Billboard Music chart topper
Steve Austin says a lot of things in his past have shaped his “banging
beats,” most notably his time in the Marine Corps.
With the April 24 release of his new album, “800 LB Gorilla,”
it’s a subject the former staff sergeant, who now is known as the
Bioniq MC, was only too happy to talk about with Marine Corps Times.
“My music is a mirror image of my soul and the life experiences I have
gone through,” he said in a press release sent to this newspaper,
offering to speak “about how being in the Marines influenced” his
music.
He said he was inspired to join the Corps by two uncles who were
leathernecks — one killed in action, the other wounded — and a need
for some grounding in his young adult life, the self-proclaimed high
school valedictorian said in a recent telephone interview.
“I had a lot of abilities and succeeded at a lot of things, but
when adversity would come, I would often take the easy road out,” said
Austin, whose real name is Stephen Hall, according to the New York-based
American Society of Composers, Artists and Publishers.
The only problem is, the Marine Corps has never heard of him.
A search of Corps personnel records based on his real name, given
service dates and ethnicity, turned up dry, according to one Marine
official. “No one matches the Stephen Hall with whom you’ve
spoken,” he said. A representative of the National Personnel Center in
St. Louis — the clearinghouse of service records for all services —
also found no record of the singer’s time in the Corps, or in any
other service.
After the initial phone interview, Marine Corps Times made numerous
attempts to contact the performer through his publicist for
clarification about his claimed prior service — all of which went
unanswered. Austin refused to provide any information that would
substantiate his claim or assist in a military record search, such as
his date of birth, the date he entered service, where he went to boot
camp or the last four digits of his Social Security number.
In addition to that, Austin’s story could not be substantiated with
the unit he claimed to serve with, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion. First
Sgt. Carlos Sepeda, who has been with the unit for more than a decade,
could find no record of Austin.
Sepeda added that Austin’s claimed rank would have been difficult
to achieve after four years in the active duty, which is what Austin
claimed. “It would be hard; I’ve never seen it,” he said. “Most
staff sergeants have eight or more years before they’re in the
zone.”
During the phone interview, Austin said his tenure as a Marine was
“four and four,” referring to four years’ active duty, followed by
four years in the Individual Ready Reserve. He said got out of the Corps
in 2000 as an “E-6.”
When asked about his prior Corps service, Austin quickly parroted the
recon mantra: “swift, silent and deadly.” While he was shy about
giving much detail about his duties there, he did say he was a war
veteran and served with his unit in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert
Storm in 1991.
He said he decided to go recon because of the challenge, he said.
“I’m going to go where they need the highest scores, the most
fitness. I’ve always been driven to do the best. It gave me fortitude.
I knew when I went in and got out that I could do anything.”
In the meantime, his career has been on the rise. His new single,
“Bussa Move,” is listed as No. 8 on Billboard’s R&B Hip-Hop
Single Sales. The Dallas Observer has dubbed him the city’s Rapper of
the Year.
Sepeda, the first sergeant, said he was concerned at the idea of
someone masquerading as a former recon Marine.
“We take the Marine Corps very seriously, especially the recon
family,” he said. “For someone to say they were there” — and not
be — “it’s very disturbing.” |

by the Department of the Defense, showing the date of a serviceman's

The second charge against Hammons is Violation of Oath of Office, which
alleges
he was pictured on the state Marine Corps League website wearing a staff

According to the charges, "this is fraud given the contents of your

The final charge is Conduct Unbecoming a Member or Officer of the Marine

Then there's Harkin's military service. In a 1980 book, "Changing
the Guard: Power and Leadership in America," published by Simon and
Schuster and written by David Broder, "Ace" had this to say:
"I spent five years as a Navy pilot, starting in November of 1962. One
year was in Vietnam. I was flying F4s and F8s on combat air patrols and
photo-reconnaissance support missions. I did no bombing. I don't know what I
would have done if I had been ordered on bombing missions. But I did no
bombing."
In 1984, Sen. Barry Goldwater wrote to the Des Moines Register saying,
"I have seen the Navy record of Mr. Harkin, which is in the public
domain, and there's nothing to indicate he ever flew in combat, or even in
Vietnam. In fact, the only decoration he lists is the National Defense
Service Medal, which was awarded to everyone who served his country during a
given period of time."
Tom Harkin was fascinated by the military. In 1979, he suggested in the
Congressional Record that our national defense should include floating MX
missiles on barges on the Mississippi, solar-powered cruise missiles and
coal powered attack submarines.
And "Ace" Harkin claimed that he had never bombed.

he would never do this again. Well, he seems to be back up to his
old tricks. He has tried to tell many he is a RANGER, a RAIDER,
has had all types of military training, and missed out of going to Iraq
by only a day with his SCSF unit.
He is portraying himself as a combat veteran, up to and
including trying to get a sponsorship for his Airsoft Team under these
false pretenses. His numerous Myspace pages include RANGER logos,
as well as his Airsoft uniform with military rank insignias, and medals
and awards he has supposedly received. I feel that his remorse was
false and he will continue to use the US military as his link to any and
everything he can get..

Businessman: Military service statements false
Documents show conflicts between claims and truth made by Gary
Harris.
Published: Sunday, April 12, 2009 6:09 AM EDT
FORT WHITE — Gary Harris, a businessman in Fort White, said he
erred when he gave false statements about his military history to the
media.
A story was published recently about the potential of Harris starting
a new school in the future, as well as about his other business
interests.
Harris said he misspoke when he claimed to have earned two Bronze
Stars during an interview with the Lake City Reporter earlier this
year.
He also never served in Iraq or Afghanistan, he said, although he had
made that claim to a reporter.
The one bronze-colored star he possesses is what Harris now
calls, “a small bronze star” — an indicator that he received a
National Defense Service Medal again.
“There is nothing to indicate he had any Bronze Star,” Navy Lt.
Cdr. John Daniels said. “That is not in his official record.”
Another misstatement appears in a “Professional Resume” Harris
submitted to the state government, according to records. On that, he
noted “Military Service Awards” and listed “Iraqi Freedom
Medal.”
When asked about this, Harris said that although he never served in
Iraq,
he got this medal when he was in the Naval Reserves.
Navy Lt. J.G. Laura Stegherr said the “Iraqi Freedom Medal” is not
on Harris’ record of awards and decorations. While he did not list
it, she said, he was given, “The Global War on Terror Medal.”
That medal is authorized for all service members participating in or
serving in support of Global War on Terrorism operations on or after
Sept. 11, 2001, and to a future date to be determined, according to
noted requirements for the honor.
Harris also listed on his “resume” that he was awarded the “Navy
Battle ‘E’ Medal.” Actually, he was given a “Navy ‘E’
Ribbon,” Stegherr noted.
Harris was in the Navy from July of 1992 until October of 1995,
according to records. He ended his regular Navy career as an
“Airman” with an honorable discharge with the narrative reason for
separation as “Hardship.”
“I had a death in the family,” he said. “They let me go into the
Navy Reserves from the regular Navy.”
Harris was also disabled during his military tenure.
As a result of Harris’ 10 percent service-connected disability
rating, he said, he has scored preferential treatment for any
government jobs. The 10 percent disability is from an injury to his
left knee while he was on active duty, he said.
Harris is the founder of American Building Inspectors Corp., but said
the company has not landed a single contract since its launch in late
2007 — despite a boost from the Florida Legislature.
On Nov. 11, 2008, the Florida Legislature added certification of
service-disabled veteran-owned businesses to its list for special
consideration by vendors, according to Linda McDonald of the Florida
Department of Management Services Office of Supplier Diversity.
The OSD certified Harris’ ABI as the very first company eligible for
first-tier referrals when the company meets criteria set in
solicitations for bids.
Not only are these businesses given preference by vendors in state
jobs, but the state provides certified minority businesses with a
wealth of resources to help them succeed.
Nevertheless, ABI has not landed a contract yet, Harris said.
Although Gov. Charlie Crist had his picture taken with Harris when the
act to help disabled veterans was signed, Sterling Ivey, a spokesman
for the governor said the OSD, not the governor’s office, may have a
comment about Harris’s lack of success as a bidder.
In regard to whether Harris claimed to the have earned military honors
to the governor, Ivey said Harris probably did not contact the
governor’s office. Crist signed the legislation on June 11, 2008, at
Tyndall Air Force Base to take effect on Nov. 11, 2008, Veterans Day.
Torey Alston, executive director of OSB, said there is no guarantee
that preferred treatment lands contracts.
“Mr. Harris was the first service-disabled veteran certified under
this act,” Alston said.
Alston added that although certification does not guarantee business,
it does expand opportunities for these business owners.
To receive the preferential treatment, said Steve Murray of Veterans
Affairs, Harris had to show his for DD-214 and documents to prove he
had a service-connected disability.
Harris’ American Building Inspectors failed to yet secure any
contracts, but he has also started the “The Harris Institute for
Young Entrepreneurs.”
Harris said recently that he is negotiating to obtain 20 acres of land
in the Newberry area to start the school.
If this project becomes reality, that future school will have 100
percent paperless classrooms, generate its own electricity, and serve
its own grown food to students, he said.

Claims SEAL. Stated he was stabbed in the hip during combat.
Claims class 224.
|
....
Alas, it would appear that you’ve got yourself another poseur. There
are only two (2) men with the last name HART listed in the entirety of
the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the present day); one of them
graduated from training in 1979 and the other in 1994. Neither of those
two men has either the first name KENNETH or the middle initial “E”.
My formal statement of findings in this matter is as follows:
Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an
action for which there would be court documentation) since his claimed
service with the SEAL Teams, and based upon the information you have
provided, I can state conclusively that KENNETH
E. HART has NEVER completed SEAL training, and he is not now,
nor was he ever a US Navy SEAL or UDT “Frogman”.
I have examined the graduation roster for the BUD/S class which he
claims (224) as well as the classes immediately before and after, and
there is no indication of his name or any which might result from
variations in spelling or pronunciation. It also appears that NONE of
that claimed class (224) were initially assigned to SEAL Team THREE.

By Mark Lisheron | Monday, November 30, 2009, 11:16 AM
An armed man who tried to enter an East Austin apartment Saturday
night by identifying himself and his dog as sworn officers was charged
with impersonating a public servant, according to an affidavit filed
today.
An police officer arrested Chad Heck, 28, just after 7:30 p.m.
outside the apartment in the 4900 block of E. Oltorf Street. The
occupants of the apartment called 911 after a man asked permission to
enter the apartment.
The man who answered the door told police the suspect identified
himself as a government official and an off-duty officer. He asked to be
allowed to investigate what he later told police was a woman’s scream
in the apartment complex, the affidavit said.
The investigating officer handcuffed the suspect after noticing the
handle of what later turned out to be a pellet gun tucked into the front
of the suspect’s pants, the affidavit said.
When the officer asked the suspect if he was a sworn officer he said
no, but added that he was an inactive Navy SEAL. The dog with the
suspect was a mixed breed that did not appear to the officer to be the
kind trained for police work.

MAN
WHO POSED AS MILITARY GENERAL WITH PHONY RIBBONS CHARGED IN FEDERAL
COURT
A
Montebello man who misrepresented his military service by posing as a
U.S. Army General and recipient of the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and
the Silver Star, was due in court today to face federal charges of
violating Title 18, U.S .Code, Section 704 and 702; the unauthorized use
of military Medals or Decorations, and the unauthorized use of the
Uniform of the Armed Forces. Augustine Hernandez, 76, of
Montebello, was summoned to appear in court Wednesday but did not, due
to a medical condition which left him hospitalized, according to a
family member.
According
to a document filed in support of these charges in U.S. District Court
in Los Angeles, Hernandez was observed and photographed
wearing the uniform of a Major General of the U.S. Army while attending
a memorial ceremony in Montebello, California. The ceremony was
held in December 2006 to posthumously honor Guy Gabaldon, a U.S. Marine
who was awarded the Navy Cross.
The charges allege that Hernandez wore ribbons on his uniform during the
ceremony, including the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Purple
Heart.
Members of the military community who attended the ceremony became
suspicious of Hernandez’ uniform and ribbons and hired a private
investigator to investigate whether or not Hernandez was misrepresenting
his military service. The private investigator subsequently shared
evidence with the FBI indicating Hernandez had never attained the rank
of General and had never received the awards for which he wore ribbons.
An FBI check with the Federal Records Center in St. Louis,
Missouri containing Hernandez’ official military personnel folder
revealed that Hernandez was honorably discharged by the U.S. Army in
1954 as a Private, First Class, and contained no record of Hernandez
having earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star or the Purple Heart.
The
Silver Star, the fifth-highest military decoration that can be awarded
to a member of the U.S. Army, is a service medal and ribbon authorized
by Congress for the armed forces of the United States in December 1942.
The
Bronze Star, the tenth-highest military decoration that can be awarded
to a member of the U.S. Army, is a service medal and ribbon of the armed
forces of the United States, authorized by President Franklin Roosevelt
under Executive Order 9419 in February 1944.
The
Purple Heart is a service medal and ribbon of the armed forces of the
United States awarded in the name of the president to those who have
been wounded or killed while serving.
Hernandez
is scheduled to be back in court for a continuance of his hearing in
August 2007. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum
sentence of one year in jail and other penalties.
This
case was investigated by the FBI in Los Angeles and St. Louis and is
being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.
==================================
Date: August 17, 2007
9:16:50 AM PDT
Gus Hernandez appeared in Federal Court yesterday and pled guilty to all
counts of impersonating a military officer, wearing the uniform of a
military officer and wearing the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple
Heart without authorization and without being awarded those medals.
He also admitted that he did not receive a battlefield commission and
that his award certificates are bogus. He admitted that his highest rank
was a PFC in the Army.
Gus was sentenced to two years probation and a fine of $270.00.
The U.S. attorney asked for a $2,000 fine and community service but the
judge was lenient because of Gus' age, apparent ill health and his being
destitute. He was unable to pay the fine and was given one week to pay.
The FBI is shipping Gus's confiscated uniform, medals and ribbons to
their Washington D.C. office where it will be included in an FBI
traveling display and will be taken across the country for exhibit.
The FBI hopes to deter others from similar illegal acts.
The judge opined that the shame and humiliation was sufficient to deter
Gus from repeating what he has done.

Hersey used his false application to secure benefits totaling $2,687,
Langlie said. Hersey is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. Magistrate Judge
Karen L. Strombom on March 21.
He was charged as part of "Operation Stolen Valor," an
investigation into fraudulent claims of military service.
According to the plea agreement, Hersey filed a falsified military service
discharge certificate and application with VA in February 2005 to qualify
for benefits. He claimed he was unable to work due to post-traumatic stress
disorder sustained during military service.
The falsified military discharge certificate claimed he was on active duty
with the U.S. Marine Corps from June 1967 through April 1968, that he had
been awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star Medal and that he had
received an honorable discharge.
The Bronze Star is awarded to service members for valor or for meritorious
service. The Purple Heart
is awarded to Soldiers, Sailors, Marines or Airmen wounded or killed in
combat.
Use of an altered military discharge certificate to obtain benefits is
punishable by up to one year in prison and up to a $100,000 fine. As part of
his plea agreement, Hersey agreed to pay restitution, Langlie said.

JAMES NORBERT |

CANADA |
canada.com
It has been more than four years, but George King can still
remember the day he watched his $100,000 investment evaporate.
Learning the Calgary man responsible for an elaborate Ponzi
scheme admitted to defrauding investors in three provinces of more
than $600,000 hasn't taken the sting out of a painful financial
lesson.
On Monday, James Norbert Hester, 67, pleaded guilty to one
count of fraud over $5,000 for defrauding investors of $615,765
between July 1, 2003 and May 1, 2004.
"I'm a business man. I invest in legal investments. My
$100,000 is (long) gone and I still end up feeling stupid,"
said King, a construction company owner and one of dozens bilked
by Hester and his fake company Team Education Inc.
King was driving out of town the Friday before the 2003 Canada
Day long weekend when he received a call from his business partner
about an investment they'd just made.
Three hours earlier, the two men had met with Hester in a local
Tim Hortons about supporting a business that provided schools with
the up-front costs needed to launch fundraising programs. A
portion of the profits were to be returned to investors on a
monthly basis.
King said Hester -- married to a public school board trustee,
Sharon Hester -- produced a long list of testimonials at the
meeting. He had pamphlets filled with photos of local schools and
pictures of himself with the mayor.
King was convinced the company was legitimate and signed over
two $50,000 line-of-credit cheques.
Later, he got a call from his business partner who heard other
investors were having trouble getting their monthly payments.
"By then, I knew it was gone," King said.
In court Monday, Hester stood on two canes as he assumed
responsibility for the fraud and acknowledged his guilty plea
could result in jail time.
"My lawyer has been crystal clear," Hester said,
politely.
According to a joint statement of facts, no school fundraising
programs ever received financial support from Team Education.
Instead, Hester used money to repay other unrelated investors,
to cover his own bills and to divert cash to himself and other
third parties for his own benefit.
Calgary police conducted a 30-month probe into Team Education
after receiving numerous complaints from investors.
They were able to track cash deposited from new investors and
shuffled into three accounts used in the scam.
Hester's scam garnered media attention in the fall of 2003 as
Sharon Hester resigned from the CBE.
At the time, she faced one count of knowingly using the
proceeds of crime. The charge was later stayed by the Crown.
She was not in the courtroom Monday.
Thirty nine other charges against Jim Hester were dropped on
Monday following his guilty plea. He will next appear in court
Nov. 12 for sentencing.
Hester has no criminal record in Canada, but Crown prosecutor
Peter Mackenzie filed documents with the Court of Queen's Bench
Monday showing Hester was convicted of inter-state transfer of
stolen property in September of 1990 in the U.S. and sentenced to
15 months in jail.
King feels a prison sentence is the only way to punish Hester
for his scheme of shuffling money from one investor to the next in
a never ending lie.
"This guy is a serial con artist," King said.
"Without jail time, to me justice hasn't been served."

Sirs,
I submit this apology to your site and to all Rangers and
combat veterans I have surely offended by my actions and
claims. On various site on the internet and to several
people I met I claimed to have been assigned to 3rd Ranger
Battalion and to have fought in Panama and the Battle of
Mogadishu.
These were nothing less than lies. While I did serve in
the US Army (1988-1991), I was a 31K (Combat Signaler) and was
not even Airborne Qualified, let alone a Ranger. I
served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, but was not in the
theater, I was in Korea assigned to Charlie Company, 1st
Signal Battalion at Camp Colbern. Before being shipped
to Korea I served 11th ADA Brigade at Ft. Bliss, Texas
I cannot apologize profusely enough to the men who did live
through the deeds I lied to have been a part of. Because
of my job (I own a business) I interact with many veterans
passing through, usually make it a point of conversation.
After being exposed as a fraud, I had an encounter with a vet.
It was somehow liberating to state what my service consisted
of and not claiming any heroics. In the long run, being
busted is a good thing. I only hope that the men I
have offended, can find it in their hearts to forgive my
transgressions.
Thank you,
Fortunato Hinojosa III

That letter was dated 18 July 2006; however, he continued to
write lies about his military record after providing you with this
letter of apology. In the following posts as Speed_Addiction

[And then with regard to PFC Tillman being killed by friendly
fire] "In a confusing situation like that, Rangers identify
themselves by shouting, "Rangers!" or "Rangers
Ho!" 11-09-2006 05:50 PM
In the first post he claims to have been a Desert Storm veteran,
which is a lie according to his DD-214, and his own admission.
In the second post he is attempting to pass as someone
knowledgeable about Ranger combat operations, without actually
saying he's a Ranger. This is a violation of the spirit of
the agreement not to post lies about his military record,
especially coming from someone who was court-martialed and then
dishonorably discharged. The details about his deceit can be
seen at the attached web site.

Claims Navy Seal, claims left the Navy in 2003.
Gunners Mate
Claims Navy Seal. Seal Class Number 224
Basic training Great Lakes.
|
....If
the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT
find a listing in the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the Present Day) for
anyone named CHRISTOPHER
“CHRIS” HOLMES.
I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with
similar pronunciations without finding any that might be applicable.
There are nine (9) men listed in the SEAL Database with the last name
HOLMES; none of those men has either a first or middle name “CHRIS”
or “CHRISTOPHER” or any variant thereof.
Unless
he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action
for which there would be evidence in the form of court documentation)
since his claimed attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the
information you have provided, I can
state conclusively that CHRISTOPHER “CHRIS” HOLMES has NEVER
COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL
or a Navy UDT “Frogman”.
When members
of the Naval Special Warfare community meet others who claim similar
service, but whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational
exchange of information that establishes the bona fides of each to the
other. There is no set formula for this exchange, nor for the
information that is exchanged, but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL
Naval Special Warfare members can ALWAYS spot a phony as a result of
this exchange. If you have an opportunity to speak with the man at some
point in the future, I might suggest that you to ask Mr. HOLMES
these questions:
(1) Since
there is no listing in the SEAL Database for the name you are currently
using, WHAT NAME DID YOU USE
during SEAL training?
(2) Where
did his training take place? (NB: Training has been conducted at several
locations over the years; different portions in different places)
(3) When
did he graduate from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training?
(i.e. a specific graduation DATE)
There
are many other questions which could be asked to further establish the
level of veracity or untruth regarding his claims, such as asking for
the names of other members of his graduating class, but those basic
questions are absolutes. While the
answers to those questions are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL
will gladly provide that substantiating information upon request, Mr.
HOLMES will very likely insist that the information is either classified
or sensitive and cannot be provided.
I might
suggest that you also ask Mr. HOLMES to
specifically identify WHICH SEAL Team(s) he served on, and when. I am in
direct contact with several hundred of my SEAL Teammates whose
collective experience covers virtually all time periods from the Korean
War to the present; I can quickly contact those individuals to verify
any specific names, events, or other claims offered by Mr. HOLMES.
If he feels that his name has somehow been mistakenly omitted from the
SEAL records, I’d be pleased to speak with him and hear details of his
service which would serve to validate his claims. The Director of the
Naval Special Warfare Archives – a close personal friend and SEAL
Teammate – is only a phone call away and standing by to amend the
records if this is ever found to be true. However, I estimate that
I’ve made the same offer to more than 5,000 SEAL imposters in the last
eight years, and none of them ever turned out to be a valid SEAL.
No
one gets to the SEAL Teams without first completing BUD/S Training.
There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of
“SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but
there are NO secret SEALs… we know them all.
As
Mr. HOLMES has
specifically identified a BUD/S Training class by number – 224 –
then there is a strong likelihood that he actually was involved in
training with that class and was either washed out for failure to meet
performance qualifications, or voluntarily quit. If that is the case,
then he would have a good bit of “insider” information which would
make his stories more credible to uninformed listeners. The true test is
to ask him for the SPECIFIC
GRADUATION DAY/DATE for the class, and the NAMES
AND SKILL RATINGS of three (3) of his classmates who were
standing tall for that graduation. When a man is washed out of BUD/S or
voluntarily quits, he is removed from the training area immediately and
berthed at a physically distant location on the main NAB base, and he is
transferred to another command within a matter of 2 or 3 days… often
within 24 hours of leaving the BUD/S compound. From that point on it is
highly unlikely that he will have any direct contact with those who are
still in training or know when training specifically ends (i.e. day of
the week, day of the month, etc) and extremely unlikely that he will
know the names of all those who remained in the class as opposed to
others who subsequently left of their own accord or were washed out of
the class after his departure. As I stated above, Mr. HOLMES’
name is NOT among those listed on the roster of successful BUD/S
graduates.
...
Thank you
again for your concern in this matter, and for your assistance in
upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. Depending on the
specifics of his actions and claims, Mr. HOLMES
may have crossed the line from braggadocio and may also be
prosecutable under the STOLEN VALOR ACT of 2005. ...

the FN Engineering Core Training, and his dates of service are from May 2,
2002 to April 27, 2004.
To Whom It May Concern:
I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy
SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I
must make clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US
Dept. of Defense or any other government organization. I am one of about a
dozen men in America who possess a copy of the SEAL Database, a
comprehensive and regularly updated listing of all men who trained and
served with the Naval Special Warfare units (SEALs, UDT, NCDU, S&R) from
the end of WWII to the present day. I also have access to archival sources
who can verify/deny claims of service DURING WWII. As a former US Navy SEAL
myself, I am fully familiar with the NSW training program and the standard
operating procedures used by the Teams, as well as an in-depth personal
knowledge of many of the ‘insider’ events and incidents which UDT
“Frogmen” and SEALs offer as a part of their bona fides. My efforts to
expose SEAL imposters are performed free of charge, as a service to the
public, and in honor of my SEAL Teammates who gave their lives in service to
our nation… men who truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL”
but who are no longer able to stand forward in defense of their honor, their
reputations, and their TEAMs.
If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a
listing in the SEAL database of successful graduates for anyone named WILLIAM
S. HORTON. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names
with similar pronunciations. There are only four (4) men with the last name
HORTON listed in the entirety of the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the
Present Day); none of those men has the first name WILLIAM or the middle
initial “S”.
Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an
action for which there would be court documentation) since his claimed
attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the information you have
provided, I can state conclusively that WILLIAM S. HORTON has

MISSOULA,
Mont. (AP) — A man who lied to his probation officer about having served
in the military was ordered to stand outside the courthouse wearing a
sandwich board that says: "I am a liar. I am not a Marine."
William C. Horvath, 35, of Whitefish, pleaded guilty to making false
statements, a felony.
U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy sentenced him Thursday to four >months
of house arrest and four years of probation. He also ordered >him to
stand outside the courthouse for 50 hours wearing the sandwich board with
the message.
On the back, it must read: "I have never served my country. I have
dishonored veterans of all wars."
Molloy, a veteran himself, also ordered Horvath to write letters of apology
to newspapers, the U.S. Marine Corps, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the
American Legion in Kalispell. The judge said Horvath must admit in the
letters that he lied repeatedly about serving and being wounded.
According to a news release from the U.S. attorney's office, Horvath claimed
during an interview with a probation officer on Aug. 9, 2001, that he had
served in the Marine Corps. The officer was gathering information on Horvath
on a prior charge of being a fugitive in possession of firearms or
ammunition.
The probation officer then attempted to verify Horvath's military service,
but was told by the Marine Corps that there was no record of Horvath ever
having served.
Horvath then presented the probation officer with evidence of his time in
the military, including photographs and decorations. However, Marine Corps
representatives told the probation officer that the evidence contained a
variety of inconsistencies.
One of the problems: He was wearing his uniform improperly.

– he vowed to redouble his efforts to create a saner world.
With this same sense of compassion, he also did all he could to
safeguard his crews, prompting one of his men to
write: “I feel I owe you a tremendous debt of gratitude.
First for your acquaintance. Secondly because you have portrayed
to me all the attributes of a ‘story book’ naval
officer. I can see for myself that you were an officer and a
gentleman long before Congress decided so.” In 1945,
left partially blind with injured optic nerves and lame from hip
and back injuries, Mr. Hubbard was hospitalized at Oak
Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. Among the 5,000
naval and Marine Corps patients at Oak Knoll were hundreds of
former American prisoners liberated from Japanese camps on South
Pacific islands. Many were in terrible condition from starvation
and other causes, unable to assimilate protein."

How can someone .... keep the
organization from constantly publicizing the extremely
exaggerated military career of it's deceased founder? To
start at the bottom, the Church of Scientology (CoS) has been
using an inflated story of their found Layfette R.
Hubbard. Personally I don't care about what or who they
worship.... However CoS Leaders have been using this deception
to the unsuspecting as proof that their founder was an
honorable man. This can be found at
http://www.whatisscientology.org/to/part01/chp03/pg0118.html
http://www.ronthephilosopher.org/page82.htm
and http://www.ronthepoet.org/p_jpg/thewar1.htm
However some excellent research
done by a Mr Chris Owen,
http://www.spaink.net/cos/warhero/contents.htm
show that Layfette Hubbard's career is mostly a farce, and the
27 medal he (and the CoS) claim is phoney. Several people
have pointed this out to the CoS, but they have been basically
told to get lost (stronger language used).... These lies
are an insult to my fathers memory, who served honorably with
the USAF through the Korean War and the Viet Nam War. Any and
all ideas welcome, these lies must stop.

Robert Hunt is a sleeper that was put on hold. At some, not too distant
date, you will see Bob Hunt performing his true and final
role.
(RMNews Editor: Bob Hunt is a Navy SEAL and covert operative who was
instrumental in leaking classified documents to Rodney Stich. These
documents confirmed that the government operatives who came forward and
broke their cover to tell the truth, were indeed who they said
they were. Whenever a government covert operative breaks his cover and
begins to tell the truth, he/she is either jailed or killed.
Robert Hunt is currently in prison. Others, who are listed on the
documents he released are either dead, in prison or in hiding. Robert
Hunt is quoted on p. 10 of the November issue of RMNews. He is
discussing a group of programmed assassins that he personally trained
at Camp Perry. When you combine the information he released plus other
information on the Pegasus Assassination Unit, you begin to
understand that the men and women who make up these units have all been
programmed at least up to Level 3.

Claims he
was injured as a Navy Seal during the Panama Invasion, subsequently
earning the Silver Star.
Darrel Hunt claims to be permanently unable to use his legs to any
advantage since being blown up in Panama. He also claims he is 100%
disabled by the VA. He has been seen walking normally and driving a
normal car. He also likes to tell people elaborate lies especially
claiming to have been a Seal and awarded the Silver Star. He runs around
Seattle/Auburn Washington abusing people with threats of lawsuits for
not complying with the American with Disabilities Act Yet he has been
seen many times walking. I have attached a picture of him in jungle
fatigues and a boonie hat. He was actually in the Navy for three weeks
in 1987. He frequents veteran events dressed like the picture to gain
the sympathy and respect from non-suspecting civilians.
Hunt is the same guy who
for years has marched in the Auburn Vets parade and wore medals
including the Silver Star.
reported to us in October 2007:
Daryl has made himself well known at the Auburn City Hall, Auburn, WA,
because of his continuous efforts to educate the city to be
in compliance of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). He
always carried on his crusade from his wheel chair. But, one day the
mayor was walking downtown and met him while Daryl was walking around
on his very own two feet and legs. The mayor, who is a Nam Vet and a
great guy, approached Daryl, looked him up and down and stated "A
miracle". Daryl just turned around and walked away.
