Clark, William James
DoB 1966
aka DoB 1973
02/2008 Seattle, WA Claimed he was a "military police officer" and showed an MP Badge. He could not provide a military ID card. When confronted with his lies, he said he used to be an MP, but was not one now. He was arrested on an outstanding federal warrant for impersonation. He already has a prior federal conviction for impersonating a US Army Captain (claimed SF) at a bridge collapse disaster scene in in Oklahoma on May 26, 2002. His current warrant seems to stem from an incident where he impersonated a US Army officer to the Russian Embassy.

Today he had BDU's with him with SF Long Tab, Ranger Tab, and an SF Command patch with Airborne Tab, and Captains bars, all sewn on. He had a black beret with the baby-blue generic army flash, with an SF unit crest affixed to it. All of this impersonation gear was recently purchased (it was all brand spanking new) at a surplus store in Idaho (receipt found in pockets).

Reported to be aggressive and violent.

Internet news site shows he's been captured armed in the past, lurks around sensitive military sites, and had unexplained knowledge of a death of a real Army Captain in the aforementioned bridge collapse, before bodies had been recovered.

This response is to my brother and sister Marines on this site. I will not waste my time and energy responding to this wannabe/imposter/loser.

Here is the dispute I placed on his profile:

Quote:

Clouse, or whoever you are!

You have been having a lot of fun, at our expense haven’t you? You’ve been playing on our sympathies while all the time laughing your butt off at the “Stupid Marines”, haven’t you?

Well you tripped yourself up, with your own arrogance! You did leave some hints, which probably added to your enjoyment and the heartiness of your laughter, they are as follows:

1. Your e-mail address
randye6usmc@ yahoo.com with a profile rank of sergeant and using yahoo which as everyone knows is not a direct service so you can set up whatever you want a good place for a fake to work from
2. Listing the Mayaguez Rescue incident under your profile. By a Marine unit that was not involved and by a computing machine mechanic (your stated MOS)!
3. The clincher, the question I asked you that you did not respond to, and you know what I mean, that was a trap on my part and you confirmed by your lack of response THAT YOU WERE NEVER A MARINE!

I never did give your profile that close of a look, until you tripped yourself up. I won’t make that mistake again! So if you try to come back on as someone else, we’ll bust your ass again!

NOW STAY OFF THIS SITE YOU FAKE!

End Qoute.

Here is his response as a message on my profile. He had to put it there because I spammed him when I removed him from my brothers list. Yeah he had me fooled big time!

Now his response:

Quote:

i was a marine. i was in plt 236 in boot P.I. after boot( by the it is called the island0 i became a 2818. i was color blind so the corps decided i could do something else. i got but in something called MACSOG . my mission was --- do your job. i have no idea who was in charge, but we did what we did, i will tell you the true shit. since then my records are all fucked up. but i know what we did. the va says we seem to have a problem, right, i guess we were spooks. not my idea of a marine. i tell you this because you are a person who knows what went on. i am sorry if you do not believe me. but this is all i can tell you.

End Quote!

Every single wannabe that I have busted falls back on this ploy. Well I'm here to tell you their personnel records are not classified. They are there for all to see, the pages that contain the "Black Ops" are not. But, the fact is, their personnel records are there and available regardless if they were a Marine, or a Navy S.E.A.L. or a Green Beret, (other wannabe favorites). They like to use the Special Ops as a background in hopes that you will believe the; "I can't tell you because my records are sealed" ploy.

So don't let this wannabe fool you!

He made his last move and it was a bad one. Check and Mate! GAME OVER!

Cody, Jon T 04/2006 Fishers IN Attempted to secure employment in Afghanistan with Dyncorp.  Claimed to the company, and his co-workers, that he was a decorated Special Forces medic (18D), and because he spoke fluent Russian, ran a few successful covert operations behind the Iron Curtain during the cold war, and was a combat veteran.

Cody lied on his resume, and on his application for Government clearance. He was hired, and fortunately the project he went to had a couple of US SF guys that questioned him about his claims of Special Operations service. Come to find out, one of the guys was in the Q Course class that Cody claimed to have been in, and didn't remember him. He didn't remember him because he failed.

The bottom line: Jon Cody was released from the Dyncorp project and sent home. Dyncorp investigated and determined Cody was not Special Forces qualified, wasn't even a basic medic, his Russian was self taught, and he was convicted felon. On his way out of Afghanistan he stiffed Dyncorp for almost $2000 at the hotel in Dubai.

Jon Cody returned to Indiana.

Veteran's Story Was Fabricated

The Capital Times :: FRONT :: A1
Thursday, June 1, 2006
Dave Zweifel

Dear Readers:

We've been snookered.

The front-page story on Memorial Day about the Marine veteran who claimed he served seven years on active duty, was seriously injured in Bosnia and now can't get a job in Madison was fabricated by the veteran. Jeremy Cofer, 31, actually served less than two years on active duty and was never sent overseas, where he claimed he saw his best friend die in Bosnia.

When confronted with suspicions about the story Wednesday, Cofer authorized the release of his military records, where his lies became painfully apparent. He had told the same story in great detail to several people, one of whom contacted The Capital Times and urged us to do a story over the Memorial Day weekend.

Nevertheless, we at the newspaper must take the blame. Both our reporting and editing processes broke down on this story, holiday weekend or not. There were enough red flags that should have caused us to check further. For that, we apologize and will take steps to prevent something like this from happening again.

Sincerely,

Dave Zweifel, editor

..... I greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government organization. Additionally, although I worked for/with the AuthentiSEAL verification organization for several years as an Investigator (and later as a Special Investigator dealing with the media), I ceased to work for that organization in any capacity in late 2004.

If the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL database for anyone named FRED IRL COOK. Be aware that I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar pronunciations. In the entirety of the SEAL Database (10,700+ names) there are twelve (12) men with the last name COOK and one (1) man with the last name COOKE. Only one man among them has the first name “FREDRICK”; his middle name is not “IRL”, nor does it begin with the letter “I”. Our man completed UDT/SEAL training in the spring of 1956 and was an officer (Ensign)… at a time when the Mr. FRED IRL COOK would only have been 5 years old.

Unless he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would be court documentation) since his claimed service with the SEAL Teams, and based upon the information you have provided, I can state conclusively that FRED IRL COOK has NEVER completed UDT/SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a US Navy SEAL or UDT “Frogman”. Please be aware that the SEAL database includes the names of all men who served with the Underwater Demolition Teams (“Frogmen”).

Mr. Costella/Costello claims  he was awarded the Navy Cross for actions during the Battle of Hue City in 1968.  He was also wearing the Vietnam Service ribbon AND  VN Presidential ribbon of friendship...

quote

I went to Suitland High School in Forestville, MD  ......  One of my favorite teachers there was Mr. (Pat) Costello.  He was a great teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed his classes.  One of the more vivid memories was of him describing how he had been a Force Recon Marine in Vietnam and had received the Navy Cross for his actions there.  The two anecdotes that I remember the most was his description of him charging a trench full of NVA/VC tossing grenades and clearing out the trench, this action was earned him the Navy Cross, and how he was wounded by a grenade and then shot in his side while lying wounded from the grenade.  He also said that he had attained the rank of GySgt in his short time in the Marines (I believe he said 3 years) because the guys in his unit kept getting killed off.

All of this was well known to the faculty and student body at Suitland HS, though some might not have paid too close attention.  I have always been interested in the military and at the time was in the Navy NJROTC unit at the school and listened to everything he talked about with rapt attention.  I was aware of the significance of the Navy Cross at the time and felt privileged to be in the company of such a hero.  Unfortunately, this is not the first indication that I have had that he might have been a fraud, out of curiosity a few years ago I looked his name up on a list of Navy Cross winners in Vietnam and he was not on it.

I just wanted to give you some more information on Pat Costello and how long he has been doing it.

Costella/Costello is a High School teacher at Suitland HS in Suitland , Maryland.

HQ, USMC reported that they had no record of a Navy Cross being awarded to Mr. Costella; nor did they have a record of a recommendation of a Navy Cross for him.

I am a former student of Patrick S. Costello and I am writing to say that he is a phony. He would spend class after class telling his war stories about being a Marine in Force Recon. Many days we didn't do class work but would listen to him tell all of his stories. We all knew he was a phony because the stories changed so often. He also told us he played football at University of Alabama and lots of other things we knew weren't true because he told he was in Vietnam at the same time he was at Alabama. My grandfather, who was in Army, said there was someone on your site I might know. I wasn't surprised to see Cost's picture there. I checked with Alabama's athletic department and they confirmed he never even went to school there. I also found out other things that makes me believe he is very sick. He hates the military and the government and spent as much time in class telling bad things about them as he did talking about being a war hero. We all knew he was crazy. Now I know for sure he is.

Hi
I don't know anyone with the FBI, but I think they will get around to him.  After reading the student's comments on the POW Network site, I no longer have even a shadow of a doubt about his lack of credibility.  The story he told his students doesn't even resemble the story he told us last year.  I am going to get the name of the principal and send a letter to Suitland High School.
I will keep you posted.  Talk to you soon.

One battalion of the Group would be forward-stationed at Okinawa, while two battalions and the Group's headquarters and separate companies would be organized at Fort Lewis, Washington.

The first element to be activated was Company A, 1st Battalion, which was reactivated at Fort Bragg on 15 March 1984. This company and the remainder of 1st Battalion were assembled and deployed to Torii Station, Okinawa during the spring and summer of 1984, under command of Lieutenant Colonel James Estep. An in-theater activation ceremony for the battalion was held at Torii Station on 19 October 1984, with Lieutenant General Alexander Weyand present, as reviewing officer.

Activation of the rest of 1st Special Forces Group (Headquarters Company, 2nd and 3rd Battalions, Service Company, Signal Company, and 1st Military Intelligence Company) officially commenced on 4 March 1984 at Fort Lewis, Washington.

Perhaps there is no record of Paul Crimmins in Vietnam because he was upriver in Cambodia and or Laos where the US was never officially involved.  Perhaps you should look into why his mom was informed twice that her son was KIA.  That sure would be odd for someone who was just working on a sub.  In fact, he did work on a sub, but only after he was done with the special forces in SE Asia.  Check again, dig deeper.  There is more to his story than you think you know.
NOT A SEAL
Served Oct 67 to July 71 in the Navy
Only ribbon he has is the National Defense Service Medal
Rank of Machinist mate 3rd class.
Stationed Great Lakes, IL; Dahlgren VA; Groton, CT; USS Abraham Lincoln; USS Jallao

Paul Crimmins works for Augustus construction....on it's website http://augustusconstruction.com/about-us.html it has his picture and short bio where it states he served in Vietnam 68-70...however during this time ......his service record states he was assigned to the USS Abraham Lincoln (SSBN602) which is a submarine that was stationed at Holy Loch conducting deterrent patrols. This conclusively proves he was NOT in Vietnam....no former SEAL, combat vet with 4 tours in country, highly decorated.....he was assigned to a sub on the East Coast during the Vietnam War.

Claims he worked with the SEALS in Nam. Claims he was a POW in Cambodia? States he is not listed as a POW because we were not at war with Cambodia.

Claims POW/NAVY SEAL, 3 tours Nam

=================

Mr. William “Bill” Cross is an instructor at Tinker AFB, OK. As recently as May 2007, he is still claiming to be a former Navy Seal, POW and other outrageous things.  Mr. Cross was teaching a class, and when the class  returned from break he started to tell us the he was a “Navy Seal” who was in Vietnam . He served with Sen. John McCain and that he had numerous kills as a Seal.  He played music and showed us a video and told these stories for TWO hours of the Air Forces’ time.  Mr. Cross is using his position as an instructor to tell this story to each class before they graduate.

04/26/2003

ALL of those who were held as POWs in any capacity, in any country whether we were officially at war with them or not are known to our government and recorded. Mr. William Cross is not only NOT a SEAL, he is NOT a POW and never was. All surviving POWs of the war in Southeast Asia are recorded on the government web site at http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/pmsea/files.htm. Having discovered the problems he was in, he and/or his daughter have contrived to alter his claims from "I was a SEAL" to "I worked with the SEALs". However, they didn't alter the story enough; in Vietnam the SEALs had support personnel, but no one who was not a SEAL worked with them. His lie is still a lie. He has attempted to continue with his false POW claims and that, too, is a complete lie. The POW Network has posted his name so that all might see and learn of his disgraceful and shameful conduct.

2006 - "This man is just awful. I was thrilled to see him exposed on your website. I am not surprised that he lied in court about his past. Lying is what he does best (still).... He lied ... about being married, having kids, being in the army; a really horrible person...

Cupp, Gilbert 03/2007 . The story .
 Curtis, Patrick A. 03/2004 .
Claims Marine Naval Aviator, shot down in Vietnam in an F-4.  Was second husband of Raquel Welch. Claims he went to USC/NROTC and graduated with a degree in Film and a commission in the Marines, and went on to become a Marine Naval Aviator. He said he was in Marine squadron VMF-323 (1962 -1964) The CO and XO and several former Marine pilot for the (1962 - 1964) period never heard of Patrick A. Curtis.
Curtis claims he was shot down flying an F-4 on 10/31/68 in Vietnam. The Marines did not report any aircraft loss on this date. Claims 283 1/2 combat missions, 1967-1968 over North and South Vietnam.
Independent investigators have found Curtis attended St. Charles Borromeo School, North  Hollywood, CA 1945 - 1953. He then went on to Notre Dame High School, Sherman Oaks, CA and graduated in 1957. If he did go to USC/NROTC he would have been a 1961 USC/NROTC alumni to be in VMF-323 during the period he said he was there. USC/NROTC Alumni website does not have  him listed. 1961/1962 USC/NROTC alumni do not know him.  There is no indication he ever attended USC or NROTC.  Investigators have located old news stories of him being in Europe with Raquel Welch during times he said he was flying for the Marines.
Curtis has been giving hero speeches at VFW and other veteran groups. Claims retired Marine Corps Reserves Colonel. Claims Air Force Humanitarian award, Life membership in Marine Corps League, Navy League, Air Force Association.
