REMARKS: OPERATION DESERT SHIELD
SYNOPSIS: AO3 Anthony J. Fleming was one of several Navy personnel onboard one of the USS SARATOGA's ferries in December 1990 when it overturned, presumably killing all aboard.
The bodies of twenty individuals were subsequently recovered, but Fleming was never found. He is listed in a non-combat casualty status, killed, body not recovered. His name is listed with honor among those Allied prisoners of war and missing in action because his remains were never located.
