    (C) This report contains informaiton concerning the sighting of two US
PWs in BA XUYEN Province, RVN, to include circumstances of sighting and
capture, description of PWs, and biographical correlation.

    f. Circumstances of Return: On 20 Jan 72, the PHU LOI 2d Bn changed its
base camp from GIA HOA Village, NY XUYEN District, SOC TRANG (VC) Province,
RVN, to NY PHUC Village, CHAU THANH District, SOC TRANG (VC) Province, RVN.
Source was left at the first base camp because of illness. On 24 Jan 72,
Source rallied at the VINH TRACH Village, VINH LOI District, BAC LIEU
Province, RVN.
    
    g. Significant Activities:
    
    (1) 1930 to Sep 54. Source attended the village school at his POB from
1943 until 1945 after which he returned to farming.

    (2) Sep to Nov 54. In Sep 54, Source was drafted into the VIE] MINH. After
attending a first aid training class for one and a half months, Source was
released from service because of the 1954 GENEVA Agreement. He recurred to his
POB and continued farming.
    
    (3) Jan 61 to Jan 72. In Jan 61, Source was drafted by the VC. He was
assigned as a runner between the various hamlets of the PHONG THANH TAY
Village, GIA RAI District, BAC LIEU Province, RVN. In early 1962, Source was
assigned to the local force platoon of GIA RAI District, BAC LIEU Province,
RVN, as a medic. He wee sent to a medical training class in Mar 63. This class
wee conducted by MR-3 in an unknown Jungle location in CA MAU (VC) Province.
After six months of training, Source was then assigned to the 71st Co, FHU LOI
2d Bn, SOC TRANG (VC) Province Unit. He remained there until Nov 69, when he
was transfered to the medical training facility          by MR-3. This
facility was located near the CAI TAO  River, KHANH  LAM Village MUOI TE
District, CA MAU (VC)  Province, RVN. After one year of training, Source was
assigned  to the PHU LOI 2d Bn, SOC TRANG Province Unit, as a medical
technican. During this period, he also served as Asst PO for  the 5th Co, PHU
LOI 2d Bn. He remained with this unit until he  rallied.

    a. Circumstances of Capture and Sighting: In mid-Oct 69, the PHU LOI 2d
Bn, SOC TRANG Province Unit attacked an unknown ARVN outpost near the TAM SOC
Village (vic WR908567), MY THUAN District, BA XUYEN Province, RVN.
Approximately 20 minutes after the battle Source observed the two PWs for
about one minute as the Americana and their five VC guards passed by him on a
trail. The two Americans were captured in the battle.   Source heard that  the
PWs were taken to MR-3 Headquarters (NFI).

Personnel in SEA dtd 1 Feb 72, but could not make identification.
    
    e. Biographical Correlation: The coordinates of capture (WR908567) given by
this Source match within 20 meters those given in the MACV/JPRC Biographical
Index as the capture coordinates (WR908569) given for ARROYO, BAEZ GERISIMO,
E-6, JPRC No 000007 and for BONERS, RICHARD L., 0-2, JPRC No 000021. Source
insists that the time of capture was in mid-Oct. When asked how he knew the
capture took place in Oct he said that the rainy season was almost over and
that the rice was almost ready for harvesting.

cooperative and attentive during the interrogation.
