Dear Friends.....
In reading the bio of Glenn Myers,... I found a couple of errors relating to his capture date and unit of assignment. I was in pilot training at Moody AFB with him, Class 66G, and we were together through first assignment in RF-4C's and then to Tan Son Nhut AB, RVN.
The bio mentions -- "He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in January 1965 and in 1966 finished pilot training and photo reconnaissance crew training. He was thereafter a member of the 22nd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron until June 1967 when he was captured."
The bio itself shows his shootdown date as Aug 9, 67, which negates the June 1967 date mentioned above, which was really the date he shipped over to Vietnam... also, the 22nd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron was our unit at Mountain Home AFB before we were assigned to Tan Son Nhut. There we were assigned to the 16th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron; where he was when shot down...
Also, "Other Personnel in Incident:" .. I'm quite sure his front seater was Lauren Robert Lengyel ... they were usually crewed together and the shootdown date and coordinates match.
I as so glad I discovered this site.... I can't wait to look up some more friends.. Thanks to all those who are/were involved in maintaining this important record!!
Cheers, Jack O. Foley, Colonel, USAF, Ret.
