MAJ CLYDE DUANE DAWSON

Return to Service Member Profiles

On October 25, 1977, the Central Identification Lab-Hawaii (CILHI, now DPAA) identified the remains of Major Clyde Duane Dawson, missing from the Vietnam War.

Major Dawson entered the U.S. Air Force from Wisconsin and was a member of the 614th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On March 23, 1966, he was the pilot of an F-100F Super Sabre (serial number 58-1212) on a mission over North Vietnam, when his aircraft crashed and he was killed. In 1977, the Vietnamese government repatriated remains to the United States which were identified as those of Major Dawson.

Major Dawson is memorialized on Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
