Return to Service Member Profiles

On July 19, 1995, Joint Task Force-Full Accounting (JTF-FA, now DPAA) identified the remains of Lieutenant Colonel Jack Paris Dove Sr., missing from the Vietnam War.

Lieutenant Colonel Dove, who joined the U.S. Air Force from Virginia, served with the 497th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On July 12, 1967, he piloted a T-28D Trojan (serial number 49-1569) on an armed reconnaissance mission over Quang Binh Province in North Vietnam. During the mission, the Trojan crashed and Lt Col Dove was killed. Hostile presence in the area inhibited search efforts after the crash. In 1992, the Vietnamese government repatriated remains, which were later identified as those of Lt Col Dove.

Lieutenant Colonel Dove is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
