Corporal Arnold Collins entered the U.S. Marine Corps from New York and was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. On December 4, 1967, Cpl Collins was a member of a patrol in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam, and while taking a swimming break he went missing. It was presumed that he likely drowned in the vicinity of (GC) 939 783, and his remains were not recovered. Today, Corporal Collins is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
